On this episode, Brandi invites Kaitlin Gonzales on the podcast. Listen in to be inspired to truly get out of your own way, take massive action and to see an example of getting resourceful- Kaitlin truly is a living example of how we can make a way or find a way through any challenge! I had Kaitlin on the show because she's a living breathing example of what I coach about every single day. She was about to start a corporate job on a Monday when she came up with the idea for her business 'The Reel Deal' and suddenly received so much response that she decided she wasn't going to accept the job offer. She shares her full story and some incredible lessons in this podcast. A few to highlight: 1. Don't expect YOU out of other people 2. It's time to trust that feeling that you are MADE FOR MORE 3. She reminds you that what you are going through right now, you are MEANT to go through AND you will GET through! Listen in to this refreshing episode that will reinvigorate that dream inside of you and inspire you to bet on yourself again.

On this episode, Brandi is sharing her 5 step guide to helping you find your purpose. Listen to this episode and then grab a journal and work through these steps: Let’s learn more about yourself: What are your passions and your fear? What would you do today if there were no obstacles in your way? Theses questions will give you the introspection to allow you to get better aligned. Then Let’s talk about your younger self. If you were talking to your younger self, what would you tell yourself? Proof of possibility: Make a proof list in order to get over imposter syndrome. This will give you more credit to see that you are more qualified than you are giving yourself credit for. Go through the last 10 years of your life and make that list. Get vulnerable. And ask your closest 5 friends or co-workers: What do you think I am gifted at? What are my best personality traits? What do you think about me when I am not around? Create a compelling future by creating new patterns and new behaviors Where do you want to be in 10 years? What does your everyday look like? How do you care for yourself? How much do you work? How do you care for your mind body and soul? What is your family dynamic look like? How do you have fun? How much money do you have? What kind of work do you do? What do you invest in? You are meant to live your highest version of yourself and by knowing your compelling future you can start being her NOW. After diving in to the questions above, if you want to turn your purpose and passions into income and impact ask yourself this: How do I monetize what I am passionate about? What solution do people need that I can offer? Write down your ideas that you could turn into a business? Remember: You don’t have to turn every hobby into a business, it's about creating a life on your terms whatever that looks like for YOU. On today’s podcast episode, Brandi interviews Billie Ferguson, a mental health promoter, a holistic coach and consultant in my home state of Oklahoma. She is your overall wellness cheerleader. Billie tells us about survival mode discussing topics such as: -With survival mode, our prefrontal cortex is not online -We don’t realize that we are even stuck there. So we just freeze or run. I asked Billie, how can we pull people out of survival mode and specifically the pattern of people pleasing? She gives valuable tips such as: -Take a deep breath and move your body. -Breath work is essential, it helps connect us to our nervous system. This helps us regulate and gets our nervous system online so we can get the thought processes back up and running. -When you are getting started, start small, just one 1 breath for 3 minutes even 5 minutes. -Stop trying to plug your life into someone else’s framework. Make it work for you. Billie, When someone finds themselves in fight or flight, and there is resistance about being alone…. What would you recommend they do? -Ask yourself about that part of you that doesn’t want to be alone. That part of you that wants to be with people, what does that part of yourself tell you. -Don’t reject yourself. -Trust yourself, take a breath, don’t overthink it. - Ask yourself this POWERFUL QUESTION: What needs haven’t been met? -Have you been looking inwards? -Have you been experiencing joy and pleasure? -Have you taken time for yourself? How can Brain spotting help? -It’s a technique based on where your eye positions are. It is connected to neuro-pathways in your brain that are connected to old thought patterns, belief systems etc, that are down deep in our brain stem. It allows us to bypass the “thinking brain” and get down deeper based off where your eyes are positioned. Instead of avoiding we address it, we process it and we let it flow. Are you choosing to be comfortable? It is time to step outside of your comfort zone, because that is what you know. Sometimes, chaos is what you know, you stay there because it is comfortable. What does it feel like to come into ease and into your parasympathetic system? -It’s like putting on new shoes that you have to break in. It is not always rainbow’s and butterflies. Some people feel different and its a struggle. A sign that you are growing is by being uncomfortable or scared and having the courage to move forward. Billie, how can those listening work with you? -I practice therapy and I can work with insurance. -I Practice coaching and consulting. With this modality, I get to bring in energy work ! -I am also passionate about working with business owners coming out of working for someone el

On this episode with Brandi we are talking about the uncomfortable topic of money. When it comes to sales most women struggle to ask for what they want. James Wedmore is the GO TO expert on working with money and an abundance mindset. I highly recommend him!) When It comes to money and asking for what we want, here is what I notice: We have a lot of subconscious beliefs and thoughts around money and how we grew up with it formed our relationship with money and even how our parents felt about money often times passed down to us. Here are 3 questions and I want you to write down the first thing that came to your mind, no filtered thoughts! Free of judgement. Really spend time on these! You have to give a client the biggest refund to date. What is your first thought? How does this make you feel? A major medical expense jumps up in your family. What is your first thought? What is in your mind? How does this make you feel You earn an extra 25% of your income this month. What is on your mind, what does that feel like? What are you going to do with this money? Now simply just sit with your answers. This is simply just an awareness tool to see where your relationship with money is at. Here is a list of limiting beliefs that I have heard around money. Some I don’t resonate with but that doesn’t mean you won’t! Money is the root of all evil EMPOWERING BELIEF- Money is a tool for good people so they can do more good. I don’t deserve to be rich or have money. EMPOWERING BELIEF- What does it hurt to have more money to do more good in the world. Rich people are so greedy or selfish. EMPOWERING BELIEF- If you think someone is doing that and you could do it better then it is your birthright to have abundance so you can do better for the world. I will never be able to make enough money. **This is caused by a victim attitude. EMPOWERING BELIEF- I will be able to have an abundance of money when I decide to do the work to bring that. Money is scarce and it is hard to come by. You are going to block yourself from opportunities. EMPOWERING BELIEF When I am open , money is easy to come by. I can’t save money because I don’t earn enough. EMPOWERING BELIEF When I start becoming a good steward of my money, I earn more money and it is easier to save. Investing is risky and complicated, I don’t know anything about it so how could I start investing now? EMPOWERING BELIEF I could learn anything I desire to learn, I just have to do the work to educate myself. Money can’t buy happiness. EMPOWERING BELIEF Money is a tool that can increase happiness. In this episode, Brandi is talking about how to identify major limiting beliefs when it comes to pursuing your dreams and calling in this life! She is going over several limiting beliefs she has seen within herself and working with her clients. Limiting Beliefs I am not ready…. Let me tell you, you will never be ready. But lets approach it with this empowerment belief instead Empowering Belief- “I am just a few chapters ahead of where my ideal client is, and that's all I need to do, I am not claiming to be perfect or to know it all, but I am willing to just get started and keep going.” If I start heading there, I will be more ready. The only way to get ready is to get in the game! I am not qualified enough …. I love to ask , how many degrees or certifications do you need to finally believe you are qualified enough. Empowering Belief- I am getting better every single day as I take the best next step forward, I don’t need another external validation/ certification /degree/ or to learn more, I can start with what I have and do what I can with what I have. AND THEN as I learn from doing, I can take that right next action. Who am I to ____________ (Fill in the blank Ex. Launch a podcast, start a blog, ask to be paid more etc.) Empowerment Belief- Who are you NOT to do those things… we have this one precious life that is really short, we are not guaranteed our next breath, the only person that qualifies you is YOU!!! ***THIS IS THE IMPORTANCE OF HAVING SOMEONE TO LOOK TO FOR PROOF!*** Imposter Syndrome…The inability to know how to experience your success internally. I’ll never be_________________ ( fill in the blank, smart, capable, organized ETC.) It is chasing external validations. Brandi challenges you when you face imposter syndrome to ask yourself this question… Have you gone within, are you placing your validation on external circumstances, chasing likes, paychecks or clients… OR …are you going within and are you aligned. It's time to get still and SILENT and listen in. Once you are doing the work you would do even if it failed, that is when you know you are aligned. Empowering Belief- I am enough as I am and every day and in every way I am getting better. Fact of the day! Did you know that the subconscious mind does not know the difference between what is real and imagined, if you tell your conscious mind what it is that you already have, the subconscious already believes it. At the end of the day, it is about progress not perfection. Some of us are goal chasing. Life is about enjoying the journey. Our brain is seeking progress. When we are making progress, it gives us that dopamine hit that causes us to feel fulf

On this episode, Brandi is talking about how to identify a major limiting belief that many struggle with in their relationships. She’s reminding us all of the importance in creating a win-win in your relationships, both professional and personally. The intention with all relationships needs to be super clear. A question you could be asking in your relationships is, “what do you really want and how can I help you get closer to that!” You do not have to give, give, give, in order to receive. Being in relationships with no reciprocation , causes burnout, resentment, frustration, jealousy etc. INTROSPECTION is key and here is the homework after listening to the show: 1. Take the 5 closest relationships you have and write them down 2. Now, write down what you get from those relationships (EX. Love, a listening ear, advice etc.) 3. Now, what do I have to give to these relationships (EX. Effort, time, energy, advice etc.) 4. Look at this list and compare them…. 5. Circle the relationships that are not balanced. 6. Set up the tough conversations and work to find harmony THERE IS NO SHAME HERE….this is about awareness. Once we KNOW better then we get to choose to DO BETTER. In summary this episode will cover: 1) One of the biggest limiting beliefs many of us experience when it comes to relationships 2) How you are going to assess if your relationships are in harmony 3) We are going to slowly begin shifting the way we show up for our relationships What is guiding you in your relationships? I would love if you can leave a review & share this with someone who needs to hear it!! “Empathy without boundaries is self-destruction. Trauma is an explanation, not an excuse. ” - Emily Mick If you identify as an empath, there is so much beauty in that. You can feel and understand in ways that not everyone can. However, your gift can also be used against you. Something that Emily reminds us of in these powerful quotes. Emily Mick is a licensed professional counselor and counselor candidate supervisor in private practice. She’s passionate about mental health access, normalizing and destigmatizing mental health, and discussing issues related to individual experiences in business, relationships, and life. Emily was the victim of her own physiologically & emotionally abusive relationship with a narcissist. Even as a therapist who knows all the signs, has all the tools and resources to recognize this form of abuse, she struggled to get out of the relationship because of denial, fear of abandonment, and attachment. She was afraid of what would happen if she left. She was fearful of being on her own. And gaslighting from her abusive partner forced her to doubt herself. Now on the other side, Emily knows she's not the only person to have experienced this. Today, she shares her story along with examples of red flags that may help you identify abusiveness in your own relationship. Do you consistently feel unhappy, stressed, or anxious? It’s time to check in with yourself. Too often, we don’t notice how we feel within ourselves because we’re so busy taking care of others. Once we can see and acknowledge what we are truly feeling, we can begin to make a change. This is exactly what transformation coach Gabrielle Haili facilitates inside her coaching programs. Gabrielle faced years of sexual abuse from childhood into her own adult relationships. She tried everything and anything to numb the pain - she kept herself busy all the time with work and school, she struggled with substance abuse, she even considered suicide as a last resort. Through her own awakening, she realized it was time to heal. Gabrielle found hope through the stories of others. Seeing other people go through traumas, work through them, and come out the other side happy showed her that it just might be possible for her too. Today, Gabrielle helps other women heal from their own lingering traumas through 1 on 1 coaching. Identifying triggers and thought loops, creating a feel-good list, establishing new habits, and learning how to listen to your intuition are just a few of the steps she walks her clients through to aid their healing process. Reaching for the next action step without getting to the root of your thoughts won’t give you different results. You’ll find yourself stuck in the same loop, wanting to quit, unable to lose the weight, still unhappy and unfulfilled… just as Kiah did, until now. Coach Kiah is a former cattle rancher turned life coach who grew up struggling with her weight. She says how obesity was her greatest curse - one she always felt victim to. It wasn’t until one day, that a flight and Rachel Hollis’ book, Girl Wash Your Face, changed everything. Kiah realized she had been playing victim to her weight, relationships, and unhappiness when in reality, it wasn’t on anyone else but her to start making different choices for herself. This was the catalyst for her to turn her life around, lose 125 lbs, and start life coaching other women on how they could change their lives, too. As more and more people saw Kiah’s transformation, they wanted to know how she did it. They first reached out to her about weight loss, wanting the exact diet and recipe to success. But Kiah quickly realized that it was so much more than that. Weight loss isn’t the only goal in creating a healthy, fulfilling lifestyle. Mental health is a huge priority as well. As Kiah teaches in her programs, mindset comes FIRST, so that when you do lose weight, you already know how to be happy and fulfilled. Have you ever done something because someone else thought you should? Have you ever found yourself living more according to the opinions of others, rather than your own? This was exactly the case for Mandi Briggs, life coach, yoga teacher, and owner of The Collective, a co-working space for women. After 3 years of marriage and 12 years total, Mandi realized she’d been living for “we” and had no idea how to be “me”. Despite her fears, she divorced her husband, quit her corporate job, and took a year to travel solo around the world. People voiced their opinions, telling her what she should and shouldn’t do, whether she should get a divorce and travel or not. But Mandi learned to listen to just one important voice - hers. People are often projecting when they give you their opinions, which is why it’s so crucial to understand how to listen to your own intuition and inner guidance. Taking a big leap doesn’t come without fear, but the fear is exactly what tells you it's big enough to push you outside your comfort zone and help you grow. Tune in for the full episode to hear how Mandi changed her entire life and healed through turning inward. Learning the ins and outs of motherhood isn’t the only thing Angela has been learning to navigate as a new mom. She has also spent her time recovering from domestic abuse and ovarian cancer. Today, helping other women is how she’s able to help herself continue through the healing process. It was tough to get to where she is today, especially with gaslighting being so common. Angela learned to fight against gaslighting by becoming extremely deliberate in her actions. She made a habit of writing down exactly what she was feeling in those tough moments so that she’d be able to come back to them later. Having it written down removed the chance of her feelings being invalidated. If you’re going through something similar, Angela’s best advice is to ask for help. You can’t do this alone. Allow yourself space to process your emotions. Give yourself 30 minutes a day to break down! Feeling and processing your emotions is a major step to healing. Not every day is great, but eventually, you’ll be able to see how worth it that first step was. Angela is in the works of creating a YouTube channel to support women who have been through abuse! Stay tuned. Connect with Brandi: https://www.instagram.com/becomingbrandilea/

Living life as a transgender woman in Oklahoma, Bridgett Loftiss has faced many struggles on her way to becoming her most authentic self. From 4 years old, Bridgett knew she was different. She remembers going to a costume store with her mom to pick out a Halloween costume and immediately choosing a Wonder Woman outfit. Despite her knowing this innate difference within her, there were no resources and no support for her to begin to understand it. Now, over 40 years later, Bridgett is finally living into her true self. She is committed to understanding the biology and psychology behind what makes her different. She hopes that by living truthfully, it can encourage other transgender individuals to do the same. Bridgett notes how people are allowed to tattoo their bodies, get breast implants, or take testosterone to change their image to look and feel the way that makes them feel best. Transgender is really no different. Stepping into this authenticity, Bridgett wants us to know that she’s not choosing to “be brave”. She’s choosing to live. Tune in to hear Bridgett’s full story. Sarah Bendure’s career as a Lactation Consultant was spurred on by her experience of becoming a mom at 17 years old. When she was in the hospital after giving birth, the nurses were rude. They were condescending and ignored her. Sarah spent her first night in the hospital in tears because they were so mean. This experience led her to want to become a nurse to make sure this never happened to anyone else. Eventually, her nursing career turned into her launching her Lactation Consulting practice. As the daughter of a pastor and one of nine children, Sarah learned quickly that the world holds expectations and preconceptions about people. She discovered that you have to stand up for yourself, do the work to heal both yourself and your relationships, and find your purpose outside of what others think. When you think of long-lasting relationships, does the word ‘compromise’ come to mind? Katie Harris would say yes, but she would then tell you how she disagrees with the idea of it. Compromise so often looks like one person winning and one person losing. Someone gets what they want, while the other has to suck it up. What if there was a better way? Katie’s parents divorced when she was young. Her mother also struggled with addiction. As a result of the conflict she so often witnessed, she learned to people-please in order to avoid it as much as possible. For years Katie thought of herself as being great at communication. It wasn’t until she got married that she realized she was actually just really good at keeping conflict at bay. She had become terrified of conflict and viewed it as relationship ruining. This was when Katie decided to stop running away. She saw the need to learn about the purpose of conflict, healthy communication, and conflict resolution skills in order to create a strong, intimate relationship with her partner. Tune in to hear the steps Katie took to take her from people-pleaser to couples coach. Connect with Katie online and learn about the proactive work you can do as a couple. In a field where the number of men FAR outweighs the number of women, Dawn Rohrs has had to learn a lot in order to get to where she is today. For the majority of her career as a Drilling Engineer, being a woman in a field of men hasn’t been an issue. The men she works with support her and back her up when she needs it. However, there are times where she’s dealt with discrimination - men assuming she must be a man when emailing her, thinking she’s the receptionist or the caterer, men refusing to shake her hand, refusing to listen to her in a meeting to the point where they had to have someone translate to get the point across (even though they were all speaking the same language!). While these occurrences are infuriating, Dawn has learned to shrug them off, largely because it’s not worth her energy and she knows she’s amazing at her job! Although she admits that when other men learn she’s actually the one in charge, it’s pretty satisfying to see the look on their faces. As someone with ADHD, Dawn has also learned how to make this into her strength, rather than her struggle. While there are daily challenges, she loves her unique ability to multitask and remember very specific things. She may get distracted daydreaming, tap her leg, and hyper-focus on certain things... but she firmly believes that her ADHD allows her unique skills and makes her great at all that she does. Tune in to hear Dawn share on owning your power, finding a seat at a table of men, sharing in your successes, and not letting people define who you’re going to be based on what you’ve been through. “When you’re living in survivor mode, you put up so many walls around you, that it’s not other people holding you back, it's yourself.” These are the words Jessica shared with Brandi as she reflected on how her healing couldn’t begin until she finally owned the trauma she had been through. Jessica Fitzpatrick has spent the past few years working on her own healing from sexual assault and miscarriage trauma, while helping other women feel encouraged to do the same. “Becoming Jess” is the blog she started to not only tell her story, but to share what the journey truly looks like - the good days AND the bad days. She has found that this is what so many others need to hear to know that they are not alone and they can get better, too. Healing from trauma is not linear. Jess has good days and bad days. She held in what had happened to her for a long time. Eventually, she realized she was holding herself back by not verbalizing her trauma. Her healing journey truly began the day she told her husband what had happened to her. Therapy, medication, and a CrossFit gym membership have all played integral parts in her journey as well. Childhood trauma, her parent’s brutal divorce, and two miscarriages left Ashley St.Clair feeling broken, depressed, and even guilty. But these things have also helped shape her into the strong woman, mother, wife, and business owner she is today. She says how those traumas taught her so much. Ashley knew that so many women had similar stories as her, yet it felt like no one was talking about it. This led her to her passion for supporting and building up other women through boudoir photography. She saw the need for women to be given the opportunity to rediscover themselves, to feel beautiful and sexy, to feel empowered and confident again. Along with her photography, Ashley created a Facebook community specifically for women to come and support, listen to, and love on each other. What started as something so simple is creating massive ripple effects. These women, along with Ashley, are truly beginning to heal. What does this work look like? What does it mean to heal? Ashley says this work starts within. We carry so much on our shoulders. We hold on to what people say and think about us. But the only opinion that matters is YOURS. Tune in to hear Ashley’s whole story and how you, too, can begin your healing journey. Two books that Ashley and Brandi recommend are The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F*ck, and The Big Leap. From mental illness and physical abuse, to drugs, loss, and death, intense trauma has surrounded Amanda Graves for many years of her life. *Trigger Warning* Please note that Amanda goes into vivid detail as she reflects on her life and shares her stories around the subjects listed above. Amanda also shares how she was able to heal. She recalls how she so badly craved love from her parents over the years, but she realized that she didn’t yet love herself. She says, “If you don’t use yourself to love yourself, how can you love anyone else?. Those who are meant to love you, will. You don't have to chase it.” If you or someone you love is currently facing a similar battle, Amanda wants you to know this: It has to get hard before it gets easier - that's how you heal. Healing will lead you to a joy you’ve never felt before. It's a high you won’t get from anywhere else. She reminds us of the power of connection and that healing is not something you have to do alone. There are people out there to help you heal. People that have stories of their own. You are NOT alone in this. You don’t have to stay trapped in your story. And by telling your story, you begin to heal. Colleen O’Hara just turned 38, which is incredible because she didn’t think she would even make it to 30. With an eating disorder diagnosis at age 10, prescription drugs for ADHD and anxiety turned drug addiction in college, her mother’s death, followed by her brother's death from overdose, it's evident that Colleen has faced many battles. She acknowledges that at one point, it just felt like one thing after the next. After years of being in and out of recovery centers with little success, Colleen had finally had enough. She was sick and tired of being sick and tired. She was finally ready to heal. The process took nearly six years, and although Colleen is still healing to this very day, she feels like a completely different person now. Today, it’s a totally new life for Colleen, and in her words, “it’s awesome”. Tune in to hear Colleen’s story of how she went from “surviving to thriving” and the advice she has to help you or a loved one do the same. If you’re someone who’s struggling to heal in your own life, Colleen wants you to know this: If she can heal, anyone can. You’re here for a bigger purpose. Keep going. “We’re not here to work, sleep, and eat. We’re here to make a difference”.
