In today’s episode of the Coming Out Late podcast, Robin explores two commonly asked questions that most of us ask ourselves at ‘some’ point along our coming out late journey’s - and those are: “What if I’m NOT Really Gay?” “And, What If I’m Wrong? We want assurances and certainty in life that we aren’t going to blow-up-the-family, be disowned by our parents and/or siblings, be fired at work or be ghosted by our children IF, by some chance, we are wrong about our sexuality.

In this episode you will …

  • NOTHING is going to give you a truer, more deeper understanding of you, yourself and your sexuality than YOU.
  • all of the answers you will ever need to guide you, direct you, and fulfill your every need and desire reside right inside you.
  • Living Two Lives: Married to A Man, But In Love with A Woman, Written by, Joanne Fleisher, (2005, 2012).
  • A partial description of what to expect in Joanne Fleisher’s book, Living Two Lives: “In 1979, Joanne Fleisher was leading the life of a typical suburban wife and mother. That is, until she fell in love with a female friend and her world was turned upside down. Living Two Lives is a guide for women grappling with the difficult process of coming out while being married to a man.
  • Switching Teams, Written by, Dawn Elizabeth Waters, (2019).
  • Relatable excerpts from the book, Switching Teams, describing Dawn’s realistic rocky road to coming out late: (a) “Dawn's comfortable existence…disappeared as soon as she came out as a lesbian”, (b) “...it would be one of the most difficult experiences of her life, it would also be one of the most liberating…”, (c) “...at long last…[she] was comfortable in her own skin, even as she realized everyone around her was thrown into chaos…”, (d) even as she realized everyone around her was thrown into chaos…”.
  • What is “The Masterdoc”? “The Lesbian Masterdoc” is actually a common nickname for the original document titled, “Am I A Lesbian”, written by Angeli Luz, a life coach and reiki healing specialist. The 30-page piece first appeared as a Google Doc on her Tumblr page back in 2018, and then later showed up as a PDF in various sub-Reddit’s and since, swept through Tik Tok over the last 2-3 years.
