After a disappointing draft day where the projected #1 pick ended up slipping to 3rd overall, Kew has learned how to flip the switch, and turn a negative into a positive. Now a member of the Swarm, Kew is in a locker-room full of familiar faces and an incredible coach. From University to the Pros, the Oakville product has been coached by some incredible legends, and those lessons continue to play a major role in his development. OTCB 6 - 9-23; Bandits Are Champs
This week on the OTCBPodcast, for the first time in 15 years, the Buffalo Bandits are Champions of the NLL. After so much heartbreak and pain from losing in the last two NLL Finals, the Bandits finally got to the top of the mountain, defeating Colorado 13-4 in game 3. It was pure domination from the opening whistle and it was obvious, Buffalo wasn't going to let this opportunity slip away again. Recently named the new Commissioner of the NCBS, Ragusa has been around the lacrosse scene for a longtime working in the background. However, his work-ethic and passion for the game make him the ideal man to help grow the box game in the US. Last week the sports world descended on Birmingham, Alabama for the 2022 World Games, where Lacrosse Sixes took the spotlight in hopes of attracting the eyes of the LA 2028 Olympic committee. When all was said and done, Team Canada dominated the mens division and the Women finally climbed to the top of the Mountain. OTCB 6-2-22; NLL Finals Gm1, Lintz and Smith
This week on the OTCBPodcast, we're down to two- as the Colorado Mammoth advanced to the NLL Finals to face the Buffalo Bandits The last time the Mammoth played in the Finals was 2006 against the Bandits where they won their only title in franchise history. OTCB 5 - 19 - 22; Kruger, Tavares, Bishop, Sanderson
This week on the OTCBPodcast- we felt it was a good idea to chat with the four offensive coordinators after the openings games of the Conference Finals. 61 goals were scored in the two games and it was a bad night to be a goalie. Rusty Kruger has been on both sides of the Rock-Bandits rivalry and now as the OC in Toronto, he's tasked with trying to outgun one of the best units in league history. John Tavares on the other-hand, has always been on the Buffalo side of things and now with a one game lead in the series, he'll try and focus his troops in hopes of avoiding a game 3. Jason Bishop is in his first year behind an NLL bench and without Ryan Lee, it would have been understandable if the Mammoth had an off night- that definitely wasn't the case. Finally, Josh Sanderson from the Seals knows that if his club can play a full 60 minutes, they should be just fine- but if they don't come ready to play Saturday, their season could be over real quick. But first, we send our condolences to the family of Dean Hill, who suddenly passed away earlier this week. Deaner was beloved by everyone and had a smile that lit up the room. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered. Alex Pace grew up playing lacrosse in Halifax but there were greener pastures in Ontario for his junior career to bloom. OTCB 08 - 12 - 21; Beers and Whitty
This week on the OTCBPodcast we welcome the newest member of the Saskatchewan Rush, Matt Beers, and the captain of The OJLL Champions St. Catharines Athletics, Thomas Whitty. Beers had been a member of the Vancouver Warriors organization since they were the Washington Stealth, winning the NLL Championship in 2010. The heart and soul of the Warriors team, Beers will be a massive loss. But man, are the Rush gonna be an absolute wagon out the back end. Whitty took his game and teammates to another level in his final Jr A game on Saturday. An instant classic versus the Brampton Excelsiors, Whitty and the Athletics made up for the lost chance to win the Minto Cup by lifting the Iroquois Trophy and drinking some delicious milk. Plus, the NCBS final was outrageous, the HOF and NLL Draft will take place in Buffalo at the end of the month and we're taking a couple weeks off so we'll chat after the draft. OTCB 7 - 8-21/ Kelusky and Teat
This week on the OTCBPodcast- we, are, back! It's been a long hiatus thanks to Covid but with the light at the end of the tunnel getting brighter, that means we are in the home stretch to the start of a new NLL season. So this week, we welcome in the first coach in Panther City franchise history, Tracey Kelusky and, first overall pick in both NLL and PLL entry drafts- Jeff Teast. Kelusky is a a Hall of Famer that wears his passion and heart on his sleeve. OTCB 9 - 03 - 20; Bob Hamley and Ryan Smith
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we continue our #NLLDraft prospect watch with projected Top5 pick Ryan Smith, and chat with newly appointed VP of Lacrosse Operations and GM of the expansion Fort Worth team Bob Hamley. Hamley has seen and done nearly all there is to do in the NLL over a 30 year career but now he gets the chance to build his very own team from the ground up, after being named VP of LaxOps and GM down in Fort Worth. He's ready to meet the task head on and knows he doesn't get a mulligan. Smith has seen his rise up the prospect list steadily grow over the last few years as his game has progressed from Jr C all the way to the NCAA and Sr A ball; now the next step in his journey is the NLL. The impressive power forward, looks to use his size, shot and mental strengths to make an immediate impact once he's done at RMU. But the biggest story of the week came out late Wednesday and that was when Team Ireland just "did the right thing", and gave up their spot in the 2022 World Games so that the Iroquois Nationals could take their rightful spot amongst the game's best. OTCB 8 - 20 - 20; Reid Bowering

The Coquitlam BC product has seen many of his teammates drafted to the #NLL and he's thoroughly excited for the opportunity to join them. He's headed back to Drexel University for his 5th year of eligibility but will also start to work on his MBA. A three time Captain of the Jr Adanacs, he was part of two Minto Cup winning teams as well as being named BCJALL Defender of the Year three times! He's a two way threat with incredible leadership skills and a very high lacrosse IQ. He can play both sides of the ball and is a 5-tool athlete that every NLL team would love to have. He won't last long come September 17th but once he's in the NLL, you can expect him to stick around for quite some time. OTCB 7 - 30 - 20; Jim Veltman
This week on the OTCBPodcast, we welcome the newest GM of the New York Riptide, Jim Veltman. The NLL Hall of Famer has spent some time behind an NLL bench but this will be his first go as a General Manager- needless to say, he's excited for the opportunity. Recently named the Comeback Player of the Year in the NLL by the folks at The Lacrosse Flash, Greer was having an incredible rejuvenation in the sunshine of Southern California. OTCB 5 - 21 - 20; Sakiewicz and Dal Monte
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we take a break from 20 questions and welcome the Commissioners from the both the NLL and WLA on to the show, to talk about their status moving forward during these wild and crazy times. First off, Nick Sakiewicz of the NLL is still hopeful that they can crown a champion for the 2019/2020 season but they are facing two fairly large barriers; the boarder and player Visas. OTCB 5 - 7 - 20 20in20; Chris Cloutier
This week on the OTCBPodcast we welcome in, Inspector Cloutier for another edition of 20 in 20. Chris Cloutier has a knack for lighting the lamp and scoring some real timely goals. Case in point the 9 goals he had vs Loyola in the NCAA tournament, or the OT winner vs Maryland to give UNC their first title since 1991! However, his rookie season in the NLL was a bumpy one and he only lasted 7 games in Philadelphia before he was traded to the Bandits. This week on the #OTCBPodcast we continue our 20 in 20 series with the man who scored 'The Goal' 20 years ago this summer, Kaleb Toth. 'We all squeezed the stick and we all pulled the trigger'- sure, a Tragically Hip line from a song about the Toronto Maple Leafs but it's a very apropos line to use when describing the shot from Toth, to lift the Toronto Rock past the Rochester Knighthawks in the 2000 NLL Cup finals. That was the start of his pro lacrosse career that may have never gotten off the ground had his ECHL coach allowed him to move up to the IHL; hockey's loss was most definitely lacrosse's gain. Since that goal, 9er went on to become of the most elite players in NLL history, winning a pair of titles for his hometown Calgary Roughnecks and two Mann Cups with the Victoria Shamrocks to go along with his MInto Cups as a member of the Burnaby Jr Lakers. OTCB 20in20 4 - 23 - 20; Jordan Hall
This week on the #OTCBPodcast, Jordan Hall - #20 of the Georgia Swarm- joins us for another round of 20 in 20. Hall, hails from Surrey BC and was one of the best young players in the province while in Intermediate and it helped him land a 4 year scholarship at the University of Delaware. He was a key cog in their 2007 run to the NCAA Final Four and helped the Blue Hens land Curtis Dickson. Since he's arrived in the NLL though, his game took off to a whole new level. He's a born leader, a natural goal scorer and one of the best teammates you'll find in the game. This week on the OTCBPodcast we bring you instalment three of the OTCB 20 in 20. Joining us is the 20th overall selection in the 2019 NLL Entry Draft, Alex Pace of the Philadelphia Wings. Pace hails from Halifax, NS and having grown up playing all sorts of sports, he's thrilled to see the NLL having success in his home town. His lacrosse career has gone form the maritimes to St. Catharines where he was a member of the vaunted Double Blue Jr A club, then finally to the NLL playing professional lacrosse. He scored his first pro goal back in January and had April 18th circled on his calendar- that was the day he was set to play pro lacrosse in his hometown. OTCB 3 - 12 - 20; Commissioner Sakiewicz and Carlson
This week on the OTCBPodcast we are are joined by the Commissioner of the NLL, Nick Sakiewicz as well Colorado Mammoth back-up goalie Tyler Carlson. Our interview with the Commissioner was recorded 24hrs before the NLL announced the suspension of the season due to the Corona Virus; following suit with most other major professional leagues in North America. So while some of the context is now moot, it allows us a glimpse into the process the league has taken to ensure the health and safety of everyone around the league is at a priority. We also talk a bit about expansion and how the league continues to grow. Carlson was thrown into action Sunday afternoon when the Knighthawks chased started Dillon Ward from the crease. As a back-up goalie you must always be ready for these situations and TC stole the show, as Colorado came back from a 7-1 deficit to knockoff Rochester 10-8 in one of the best games on the weekend. We have no idea when the NLL will be back to action but let's hope it's sooner than later. But for now, please enjoy this week's OTCBPodcast

OTCB 3 - 5-20; Carey and Belisle
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we check in on the two expansion clubs as their first #NLL seasons are drawing to a close. First up is Dan Carey, the GM of the Knighthawks who did a wonderful job in both drafts to help his team get off on the right foot. They picked up their second win of the season this past weekend and if not for a few bad bounces they really could have a few more wins under their belt. A big western double-header this weekend will be a very tough test for the young club. Mitch Belisle has seen his fair share of expansion teams but this year, his perspective is from the broadcast booth doing colour commentary for the RipTide. New York has struggled from the get go this year but they aren't going down without a fight. With six games remaining, this group continues to push their opponents for sixty minutes but one more loss and they're officially eliminated from the post season. OTCB 2 - 27 - 20; Self and Crawford
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we welcome back Brad Self and Callum Crawford. Self, AGM for the Colorado Mammoth was busy last week orchestrating a trade for Tyler Digby form the Riptide. Digby will bring some much needed size to the Mammoth offence as well as help create some space for his fellow right-handers. Self and his stay may not be done wheeling and dealing before the March 17th trade deadline but don't bet on him trading Dillon Ward. Crawford and his Black Wolves teammates have two big games this weekend, and cannot afford to look past the Riptide on Friday night. As a long time NLL'er, Crawford has experience the highs and the lows on pro lacrosse but he continues to push himself to be the best player and teammate he can be We'll break down week 13, set up week 14 and let you in on the trade between the Knighthawk and Bandits. OTCB 2 - 20 - 20; Baindbridge and BDS
This week on the #OTCBPodcast we welcome back long time friends of the show, Chaka Bainbridge and Billy Dee Smith. Bainbridge, is one of the #NLL's top regional attornies and represents many of the league's players but it's not such an easy job. He's also one of main cogs in the launching of the new NLL Alumni that has been formed to bring back so many former players to the league. Smith is one of my all-time favorite guests, players and people to chat lacrosse with. A long time NLL D-man, now he's in charge of the backend for the Halifax Thunderbirds. It's been a faily seemless transition to the coaching ranks but he's still as passionate as ever, even if he's on the bench in a suit and tie. OTCB 2 - 13 - 20; Dobbie and Gill

Dobbie has been served his six game suspension but it's actually 80+ days since he's been out; needless to say he's chomping at the bit to get back at it. He'll have to wait until next week when the Roughnecks head to Georgia but the reigning NLL MVP is ready to put all this behind him and help the Roughnecks defend their title. Gill and the Vancouver Warriors have been legit road warriors so far this season with trips to Philly, New England, Rochester and now to Toronto. One of only two black players to every ben named captain of a pro-indoor team and the first black coach in the NCAA D1 Lacrosse. He's an icon, a legend and and incredible human being. The San Diego Seals and President Steve Govett announced Monday that the Seals would take on the Warriors in the first ever NLL game outside. OTCB Summer Session 3; Jessica Berman
This week on the Off the CrosseBar Podcast, we welcome the newly named Deputy Commissioner and EVP of Business Affairs for the NLL, Jessica Berman. After spending more than a decade with the NHL, a chance introduction to current Commissioner, Nick Sakiewicz was all it took for her to jump on board. Her work in community development and grassroots growth over the past four years has helped the NHL include so many more people into the game with outreach programs and events. OTCB June 7 - 16- Adrian Sorchetti
As Drake said, the Rush are 'going' back-to-back". With an incredible last second 11-10 victory over the Buffalo Bandits, the Saskatchewan Rush were crowned the 2016 NLL Champions. Jeff Cornwall scored the game winner with 12 seconds left and dropped two F'bombs in interview but who cares; it was probably the greatest goal in NLL history. OTCB May 31 - 16: Steve Dietrich and Jeff Cornwall
Last Saturday, the Rush took a 1-0 lead in the NLL's Champions Cup Final with a thrilling 11-9 win over the Buffalo Bandits. They'll look to wrap it up at home this Saturday in front of the 15,000+ ravenous Rush fans in the 'Toon. Bandits GM Steve Dietrich has high hopes that his team can rebound from a tough loss after playing a very solid game at home. Jeff Cornwall has been a transition beast all year for the Rush and chipped in a goal in game one as his Rush are one game away from wrapping up back-to-back titles.

OTCB May 10 - 16: Shawn Evans and Curtis Dickson
And then there were four. The NLL Play-offs are off to the Division Finals and there are two very intriguing match-ups. But we had to go through two incredible OT games in the Divisional Semi-Finals that left fans wanting more. Shawn Evans had the OT winner as the Blackwolves advance to take on the Bandits. Curtis Dickson scored the tying goal that forced OT and had an assist on Dane Dobbie's OT winner. OTCB Apr 19 - 16: Robert Church
With two wins this weekend, the Saskatchewan Rush locked up 1st in the West and will be the team to best come May. The defending champs are having themselves quite the first year in their new digs and nobody saw it coming. Robert Church is in his third NLL season and already has an NLL title, to go along with a BCJALL and WLA MVP awards. Church continues to impress as he may not be the most imposing forward but he continues to contribute on a regular basis. Also this week, the Swarm are the hottest team in the NLL, the Rock are out, the Stealth are still in and I will make my yearly comeback this Friday night. That and more, this week on OTCB
