Story:
Your grandfather met a demon yesterday, but she's really not that bad. Inspired by Yiddish folktales, my dad's stories, and really good leftovers.

Japanese/Jewish playwright and lyricist and former cheesemonger. Based in Brooklyn by way of San Francisco and a bunch of farms. Currently a student in NYU's Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program, but I used to study brackish water. I used to do a lot of things!

Anne Cooper as Isadora, and Kugel.
Anne Cooper, a member of SAG/AFTRA and AEA for over thirty years, has acted under the direction of many talented Film and TV directors. She is in the upcoming movie MARRY ME with Jennifer Lopez. She is a theatre consultant to LA GOAL, which provides services for adults with developmental disabilities. She is a big fan of Bernadette Armstrong as a writer and director, and was in her production of SIMPLE LIVES and feels lucky to again be working with Bernadette.

Founded by playwright and filmmaker Bernadette Armstrong, Open-Door Playhouse is a Theater Podcast- like the radio dramas of the 1940s and 1950s. The Playhouse launched on September 15, 2020. At the time, Open-Door Playhouse provided Playwrights, Actors and Directors a creative outlet during the shutdown. Since its inception. Open-Door Playhouse has presented Short and One-Act plays from Playwrights across the country and internationally. In 2021 Open-Door Playhouse received a Communicator Award for Content for the Play Custody and in 2023 the play What’s Prison Like was nominated for a Webby Award in the Crime & Justice Category.
Plays are produced by Bernadette Armstrong, Sound Engineer is David Peters, sound effects are provided by Audio Jungle, and music from Karaoke Version. All plays are recorded at The Oak House Studio in Altadena, CA.
