Open-Door Playhouse presents the audio play of Corpse Pose starring Brian Graves as Andy, Rachel Bryant as Wendy, Felicia Taylor E. as Brenda, Goreti da Silva as Taywana, Morgan Hill as Carla, and Joanne McGee as Siri; and written by Virginia Youngren, and directed by Joanne McGee. The play will be available online on March 9th, 2022 at Open-Door Playhouse.
Virginia Youngren (Playwright) holds a PhDs in English Literature and Counseling Psychology. She has continued to maintain a long-time practice as a clinical psychologist and psychoanalysis. She is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and a student of forensic psychology with an interest in writing about the psychology of crime.
Her films in distribution include but are not limited to Turnover (2019); Dr. Megavolt: From Greek to Superhero Dr. Megavolt (2015); Claudia’s Crescent Kick (Short - 2011); and I Heard The Mermaids Singing! Heard The Mermaids Singing (Short - 2008).
Joanne McGee (Director) has been with Open-Door Playhouse for several shows, as both an actor and director. As an actor, she has played Annie in the Annie and Frannie Go to the Mall, Annie and Frannie Go to the Bar, Babs in Scars, and Frau Schmit in Lost Dog.
She has directed, The Christensen Brothers and A Wake. She has been a professional actor for the last 45 years in regional theater, TV, Film, Commercials, and Voice Overs. She also has been a Director here in LA. for a decade. She has received an Ovation Award for her role as Barbara in Caught in the Net. She has developed a learning program called, Performing Art, for ages 9-90. She is also an art teacher and writer, caregiver, and mom. She has always loved listening to, Radio Theatre, and is so thrilled to be a part of this experience.

Founded by playwright and filmmaker Bernadette Armstrong, Open-Door Playhouse is a Theater Podcast- like the radio dramas of the 1940s and 1950s. The Playhouse launched on September 15, 2020. At the time, Open-Door Playhouse provided Playwrights, Actors and Directors a creative outlet during the shutdown. Since its inception. Open-Door Playhouse has presented Short and One-Act plays from Playwrights across the country and internationally. In 2021 Open-Door Playhouse received a Communicator Award for Content for the Play Custody and in 2023 the play What’s Prison Like was nominated for a Webby Award in the Crime & Justice Category.
Plays are produced by Bernadette Armstrong, Sound Engineer is David Peters, sound effects are provided by Audio Jungle, and music from Karaoke Version. All plays are recorded at The Oak House Studio in Altadena, CA.
