Jack the Ripper

Crumlin Road Gaol
Often called "Europe's Alcatraz", Crumlin Road Gaol (also known as HM Prison Belfast) sits upon ten acres of ground in North Belfast. It was opened in 1846, making it the only Victorian era prison to currently exist in Northern Ireland. The first 106 inmates from the old prison in Carrickfergus walked into Crumlin's gates in 1846, shackled in chains. Men, women and children were imprisoned here - including the Ulster Suffragettes. The jail was functional until 1996, when the Governor of Belfast closed the heavy gates for the final time. It lay derelict until renovations in the 2010s, opening as a tourist attraction in 2012. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the gaol is said to be incredibly haunted. There are sights of old prison wardens and children, as well as disembodied voices. Objects are also said to move by themselves. The gaol holds the original hanging gallows and noose. We did our very first paranormal investigation there - and captured some creepy shit. Listen if you dare! The West Bow Wizard of Edinburgh
Taking place in today's Victoria Street, (Edinburgh, Scotland), there is no such story as dark as the tale of Major Thomas Weir, known in history of the West Bow Wizard. Weir, in his day, a renowned preacher suddenly confessed to his congregation horrific sins including incest, witchcraft and beastiality. His confession led to his shocking public demise, as well as his sister Jean’s. Their house was later known as "the most haunted house in Scotland", and to this day harbours the ghosts of sinners past. Haunted Bothies of Scotland
One of the key activities for anyone wishing to take in the awe inspiring landscape of the Scottish wilderness is to hike up one of of 100's of mountain ranges. While venturing up these long paths, it's not uncommon for many a hillwalker to take overnight refuge in a bothy. Although after a hard days walk taking rest in a bothy is a welcome pitstop, you can't always guarantee you are alone in these old and abandoned buildings. The Amityville Haunting
The Amityville House is one of the most easily recognised images in the world of horror. It is the scene of a horrific mass murder in 1974, where Ronnie DeFeo Jr. brutally shot his whole family while they slept. It was later the scene of the famous haunting of the Lutz family (which this episode focuses on) and their 28 day stint in the murder house. In 1977, the stories of the Lutz family residence on 112 Ocean Avenue were published in the best selling novel The Amityville Horror by Jay Ansen. The book was also adapted in 1979 for the big screen, followed by many adaptations, including the 2005 remake version starring "the BOD" Ryan Reynolds. Tune in spooky bitches. The Bell Witch haunting is one of the most well-documented supernatural occurrences in American history. She harrowingly underwent 67 exorcisms in the space of 10 months, and tragically died at the age of 23. She'd underwent over five years of psychiatric treatment with no improvement, and her family turned to the church in total desperation to save their daughter.
