Episode 141: Captain America: Brave New World
We’re kicking off the first MCU movie of 2025 with Episode 141, where we dive into Captain America: Brave New World . Our cousins, Anthony and Helaine from Talkin' Ish: A Podcast Among Friends , joined the conversation and got pretty hyped with us! Some of the major points we covered were Sam’s bond with Isaiah, the epic fight scenes, whether we should’ve seen more Red Hulk, and the weight Sam carries as a black man stepping into the role of Captain America. The online opinions surrounding this movie have been all over the place, but as a group, we’re sticking with the mindset: “If you want to see it, go see it and forget what others think.” Jason also threw out an interesting question—does Sam’s Captain America deserve the same love and recognition that Chadwick’s Black Panther got? Episode 126: Smile 2
We are back with another TUESDAY DROP! The crew starts off discussing the issues with trilogies and sequels and why and how they miss the mark. Ivy is back to chat and he tells us about his “Wipe Me Down” cycling class. And yes the crew is is diiscussing what people are calling the best horror movie of the year, “Smile 2.” We discuss the intro was and how does the entity chooses it’s victim in a room of victims , which retroactively speaking, plays with a larger theme at the end. We have to discuss the main character Skye, played by Naomi Scott. We debate if she was working on herself truly, or not. Ivy discusses the lack of discernment between Skye and Louis and why she chose to stay with him, as opposed to leaving. We all pick Naomi’s Oscar winning scene from the film. If you’re a new listener , or an old listener , Jason hates flashback, so we talk about if they worked or not within this film. The jump scares are cheap thrills, we discuss if “Smile” utilizes them properly or poorly. We discuss the ending , was it predictable? Is the next film going to go larger or will it be scaled back? Would you like the Smile entity in a tv show? We discuss why horror doesn’t get love at the Academy. We also debate which entity would we rather deal with , Candyman , Evil Dead or the Smile Entity. Episode 120: Trap and The Watchers
Episode 120 the crew has a special double feature of the Shyamalan’s “Trap” written by M Night Shyamalan and his daughter’s Debut film “The Watchers” written by Ishana Shyamalan! We also brought back our homie and friend of the show, KC! We get in to Cooper and the plot armor he had. Jazz opens our third eye with her overarching theme of what the movie really meant. The crew also let’s us know which artist are losing it for and they eat what?!? And yes Jazz really said that about “Rebel Ridge” star Aaron Pierre. We see if the twist of the film hit for us. We discuss M Night Shyamalan’s daughter (Saleka Shyamalan) as Lady Raven, the concert converted into a “trap” for Cooper played by Josh Hartnett. We discuss what the hell were those creatures in that Forrest and if “The Watchers” was a good vibe watch. Do all movies where an animal is attached to the lead, does it make you think it’ll end in tragedy? The decision making in “The Watchers” wasn’t the best, much more and of course WAS IT GOOD THOUGH!??

Episode 66: Mortal Kombat (2021)
Ahead of the release of the latest Mortal Kombat game dropping this week the crew, along with special guest host Finesse, decided to review the 2021 installment of Mortal Kombat! While the movie was a toss up there was a lot of potential within this film we wanted to discuss as well as our time in with the game. Also this week, ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL! The NFL season has kicked and everybody is claiming their teams and dressed out in their football gear! While we know the results at the top of the episode we won’t be dragging Jazz across the coals today! It’s been 24 years since the last theatrical release and ahead of the release the studios dropped a 7 minute clip of the introduction of the film and we debate of this was good or bad . We also decide who’s the better fighter between Bi-Han (Subzero) or Hanzo (Scorpion) and we discuss their changed background in the latest Mortal Kombat 1 and how we feel about that . In 2020 there’s an animated movie called “Scorpion’s Revenge” which follows Hanzo however in this iteration the story follows Cole… someone who’s never been in the game but created for the story of the movie and no one is feeling this change and we have a plethora of characters from the games who could’ve been leading characters. Episode 47: Snowfall Season 6 Part 2
We conclude our “Coke Chronicles” with the last five episodes from Snowfall Season 6 on a sad but appreciative note in Episode 47. Our host both agree this series ended in a way that was unexpected but appreciated the end result. Respect and kudos were giving to not only the talent in front of the camera but also those behind the pen. We discuss how arrogance, greed, and ego were the main things driving Franklin, Louie, and Reid in one way or another. In the end, those are the things that resulted in all of their downfalls. It was refreshing to see some of our loyal day one characters get a happy ending, which in a series like this, it is extremely rare. We say, “Goodbye” to the Saint family but excited for the possible spin-off that is expected to arrive with Wanda having a lead role.

Fresh off our viewing of the movie we discuss how the film handled the untimely death of Chadwick Boseman's character T'Challa. We dig into our thoughts on Namor and if we'd consider him a villain or anti-hero. Angela Bassett gave an amazing performance in the film as the queen, so much so that Jason thinks she deserves an Oscar nomination. Episode 22: Scary Movie 2 Review
Kristopher, Jazz, and Jason are back with Episode 22! After our Halloween Horror Movie month of Reviews, this week we're lightening the mood and reviewing an old satirical classic: Scary Movie 2! While not quite "horror", the gang play a game of "name that reference" during this episode, as this film parodies many classic horror movies. Lots of laughs were had this episode, while also discussing if a movie like this can even be made nowadays. All of this to decide: Was it Good Though?

Episode 21: Hereditary Review
The gang is back with another horror movie review and we're going back to 2018 with Hereditary! Dubbed "one of the scariest movies of all time", we discuss misdirection, our view of Cult movies, and how the character of Annie handles grief. Jazz expresses her thoughts on the film and some of it's unanswered questions. Kris is caught off guard by the slow burn and turn of events early on in the film, while Jason does his best to explain different plot points from his POV. All of this to answer the question: Was it Good Though?

House of the Dragon & She-Hulk Review: Volume 5
The finale is here! Was it Good Though Podcast? is back with the finale of our bonus double feature. We begin with the She-Hulk finale(0:00 - 19:20) and discuss the unpredictable ending, online reception to the character and season overall, and what to expect next from She-Hulk. After a brief rundown of the new Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailer and a few Kang theories, we dive into House of the Dragon! (33:28) The final two episodes we discuss Alicent's irredeemable qualities, Otto Hightower's manipulation tactics, and Aegon becoming King. House of the Dragon & She-Hulk Review Vol. 4
We're back for Vol. 4 of our Bonus double feature series discussing She-Hulk(0:00- 29:03) and House of The Dragon! ( 29:03 - 1:21:03). After a slower previous 2 episodes of She-Hulk, things pick back up as Daredevil finally arrives in episode 8! We discuss his changes from the Netflix series, as well as the chemistry between him and Jen, and our expectations for the season finale! After a brief discussion of the Werewolf by Night Halloween special, it's time for House of The Dragon! RIP to the OG King V. Alicent's self righteous behavior is touched on, as things are heading towards war with the death of the King. Aemond and Aegon's older versions are introduced, and the influence of house green is heavy.

The Was it Good Though? crew is back with Volume 2 of our special bonus episode series covering She-Hulk (0:00-42:06) and House of The Dragon (42:06-143:41) episodes 3-4.
