For Episode 151, we’re taking it straight to Hell’s Kitchen — and this season definitely earns the name. We’ve got a special guest this week, our brother Low, joining us to talk all about the new Daredevil series. We get into the meaning behind the mask, Matt’s struggles, and what we’re hoping for in Season 2. We also have some fun rewriting the end of Infinity War , a quick little debate about Iron Man vs. Wolverine, and we even ask: was Vanessa right to shoot Adam? We cover it all this week — and, of course, we end it by asking: Was It Good Though?

"Let my people Goooo!!" — the iconic words from the chosen one, Moses. This week on Episode 149, we're diving deep into The Prince of Egypt. Huge shoutout to our homies Furb and Jada for pulling up and joining us for this one. We tackled some wild questions during the discussion — like, who actually built the pyramids? Would Pharaoh have let the slaves go after the work was done? And here's the real curveball: Was Moses the true villain of the film? From the powerful message to the unforgettable soundtrack, we break down what made this animated epic so impactful. We also dig into whether the story was truly based on real events. Things definitely got dark — plagues, famines, frogs everywhere — but we survived it all and even walked through the ocean (okay, metaphorically) to get to the heart of it all, "Was It Good Though?"

In Episode 148, the crew featuring half of the Talkin Ish: A Podcast Amongst Friends and long time friend of the show, Jada jump right into it… the hair!! Receipts are brought out. This week, we're discussing Magazine Dreams starring Jonathan Majors for Episode 147. We're joined once again by Michael to dive into not only the film but also the events leading up to its release, Majors' press run, and whether this film could be the key to resurrecting his career. If Majors had never been convicted, would this film be a surefire Oscar nomination — and possibly a win? As we get into the film, Jazz poses some thought-provoking questions: "Was Killian his own worst enemy?", "Did Killian's social worker/therapist fail him?", and "Is it best to never meet your heroes?". We also discuss the importance of emotional connections with others and the significance of self-love. Finally, we ask: Was it good though — both the movie and Majors' performance?

This week on Episode 143 of Companion, we’re joined by Terrell to discuss the film. We dive into whether Jack Quaid plays the same character in all his movies, and if Sophie Thatcher is on her way to becoming the next "Scream Queen." Though we don’t have our usual Companion to assist, we reflect on the traits we’d want them to have. We also debate if the movie could have succeeded without the big AI reveal in the trailer—seriously, stop spoiling! Lastly, with writer and director Drew Hancock reportedly involved in The Faculty remake, we discuss whether that news excites us after watching Companion. All this, plus we ask the burning question: Was It Good Though?

We’re kicking off the first MCU movie of 2025 with Episode 141, where we dive into Captain America: Brave New World . Our cousins, Anthony and Helaine from Talkin' Ish: A Podcast Among Friends , joined the conversation and got pretty hyped with us! Some of the major points we covered were Sam’s bond with Isaiah, the epic fight scenes, whether we should’ve seen more Red Hulk, and the weight Sam carries as a black man stepping into the role of Captain America. The online opinions surrounding this movie have been all over the place, but as a group, we’re sticking with the mindset: “If you want to see it, go see it and forget what others think.” Jason also threw out an interesting question—does Sam’s Captain America deserve the same love and recognition that Chadwick’s Black Panther got? Let us know your thoughts in the comments, and, of course, Was It Good Though ??

Plus, what can we expect from Season 4, and who’s the man in the yellow jacket? Things get a little wild in this episode, but that’s just the energy we bring. This week we're reviewing possibly the best series of 2024, The Penguin. We had to bring in our brothers Chappell from @RecapKickback to join us in the discussion, along with three time back to back guest @Jedimike7 . Before we dug into The Penguin, we had to get everyone's thoughts on The Batman film and if he was missed in this series. It's safe to say, the group felt like the absence of Batman didn't take anything away from this series. We broke down our thoughts of Os, as a person and a villain, along with how loyalty in Gotham is a waste of time. Discussion not only The Penguin, but also the casting of our future Green Lantern and the discourses that was caused. Was it warranted?? We get into this week and ask the most important question, Was Is Good Though?

Let's continue our walk down the road...we made sure to bring up where the MCU is today and some fumbles that were made. Will the success of Agatha open doors for less multi-million dollar projects? Will be see Jen in any future projects, and was Rio completely down bad over Agatha? The road was chaotic for the "Coven-less Witch" but we made sure to not turn on each other...too much. Enjoy the second half of our review and another big shoutout to Talking Ish: A Podcast Amongst Friends and Micheal for joining us.

We are back with another TUESDAY DROP! The crew starts off discussing the issues with trilogies and sequels and why and how they miss the mark. Ivy is back to chat and he tells us about his “Wipe Me Down” cycling class. And yes the crew is is diiscussing what people are calling the best horror movie of the year, “Smile 2.” We discuss the intro was and how does the entity chooses it’s victim in a room of victims , which retroactively speaking, plays with a larger theme at the end. We have to discuss the main character Skye, played by Naomi Scott. We debate if she was working on herself truly, or not. Ivy discusses the lack of discernment between Skye and Louis and why she chose to stay with him, as opposed to leaving. We all pick Naomi’s Oscar winning scene from the film. If you’re a new listener , or an old listener , Jason hates flashback, so we talk about if they worked or not within this film. The jump scares are cheap thrills, we discuss if “Smile” utilizes them properly or poorly. We discuss the ending , was it predictable? Is the next film going to go larger or will it be scaled back? Would you like the Smile entity in a tv show? We discuss why horror doesn’t get love at the Academy. We also debate which entity would we rather deal with , Candyman , Evil Dead or the Smile Entity. Ivy dropped a short, link is in our bio! However we answer the most important question , WAS IT GOOD THOUGH!?

We brought in returning guess, KC and Chris to join us in the discussion where hormones, luxury, and glamor can cause someone to ignore the red flags and put themselves in immediate danger. We asked, "Why would she?", "Why did he?", and of course, "Was It Good Though?".

Is it possible to create a great sequel 36 years after the original?? To bring the same uniqueness, creativity, sarcasm, and characters into this new film?? For episode 121, we're discussing Tim Burton's Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and we answer all those questions. We had to bring back KC to join in the discussion and as a collective, we wanted to make sure to match the energy of the movie. Minus the "Shucking and Jiving", we made sure to leave that to Burton. We discuss M Night Shyamalan’s daughter (Saleka Shyamalan) as Lady Raven, the concert converted into a “trap” for Cooper played by Josh Hartnett. We discuss what the hell were those creatures in that Forrest and if “The Watchers” was a good vibe watch. Do all movies where an animal is attached to the lead, does it make you think it’ll end in tragedy? The decision making in “The Watchers” wasn’t the best, much more and of course WAS IT GOOD THOUGH!??
Tue, September 17, 2024
This week we're discussing The Crow, starring Bill Skarsgard and FKA twigs. With this being a remake, we of course have to discuss the original Crow, starring the late Brandon Lee. There were a few "head scratching" moments that were discussed, lack of chemistry between our leads, and if the villain was a big fan of the Ying Yang Twins. We mention some of our favorite remakes and the ones that should have never been created. It's safe to say, our "Was It Good Though?" answer was given before we asked the question.

The crew is back and joined with Diandre,of the Mass Debaters podcast, to discuss our first DenzelWashington movie! Jason feels as if “Flight “ is a sleeper in Denzel’s catalog and one of the true times Denzel was a scumbag through and through. We discuss our favorite scumbags from other projects or tv shows . We get in to if we think the drug and alcohol are the missing element that allowed Whip to control that plane? Of course we have our tangents and we discuss if “Big Mouth” should be shown in schools for sex education. We talk about alcoholism, drug use , and life altering issues. We discuss the Whip and Nicole storyline and if we like how they came together . Denzel kissed Kelly Reilly but refused to kiss Julian Roberts in “Pelican Brief” what is the tea?! This was Jazz first time watch and one of Jason’s favorite watches so this weeks agree to disagree leans in to Jason’s opinion on the best Denzel movie and so much more! And of course , wherever dying question … WAS IT GOOD THOUGH!?

Happy Halloween!! We're concluding our Horror Fest with an oldie but goodie, Tales from the Hood. Not only did we review a classic horror but we also had a first time watcher join us in the discussion, shoutout to one of our reoccurring guest, Crystal. We touch on tale's we'd create, if this needs a modern day reboot, and of course, Walter and that stove. Go ahead and tune in because this episode goes off the rails but in a good way. After all the tales are said and done, we were able to ask, "Was It Good Though?"

Horror Fest continues with the latest installed from the Exorcist universe, The Exorcist: Believer. We bring in Chris for this review since he’s an export in all things demon or that’s the story we’re telling. We touch on elements that were present in the original film and also new ones introduced in this film. The gang touched on “Kid activities” and “Rice at Breakfast”, so yes, this episode gets wild quickly. Shockingly, we were all able to agree on our, “Was It Good Though” answer.

The tone seems to have changed with the latest installment in the “Saw “ but does it measure up? This is the Was It Good Though Podcast, and this is our Orgy Podcast! Lol no, we’re kidding , episode 69 may be our raunchiest to date and we are discussing one of Jazz’s favorite animmted comedies “Sausage Party!” The discussions that stemmed from this movie were a lot of inappropriate child hood memories being unlocked from “Real Sex” to “Taxicab Confessions” and much more ! The crew chimes in on the age old question, girth versus length! Bun-ogamy? We have a wild ‘agree to disagree debate on whether or not Is “just the tip” a trap? Ahead of the release of the latest Mortal Kombat game dropping this week the crew, along with special guest host Finesse, decided to review the 2021 installment of Mortal Kombat! While the movie was a toss up there was a lot of potential within this film we wanted to discuss as well as our time in with the game. Also this week, ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL! The NFL season has kicked and everybody is claiming their teams and dressed out in their football gear! While we know the results at the top of the episode we won’t be dragging Jazz across the coals today! It’s been 24 years since the last theatrical release and ahead of the release the studios dropped a 7 minute clip of the introduction of the film and we debate of this was good or bad . We also decide who’s the better fighter between Bi-Han (Subzero) or Hanzo (Scorpion) and we discuss their changed background in the latest Mortal Kombat 1 and how we feel about that . In 2020 there’s an animated movie called “Scorpion’s Revenge” which follows Hanzo however in this iteration the story follows Cole… someone who’s never been in the game but created for the story of the movie and no one is feeling this change and we have a plethora of characters from the games who could’ve been leading characters. This episode gets off the rails so please listen with caution lol and of course WAS IT GOOD THOUGH?! Spoiler alert lol…

Jazz and Chris recently went to comic con and we discuss some blunders on their last outing. The introduction of a horror film sets the tone for what you’re getting and we’re definitely doing a breakdown of this one shot, eerie scene and the lack of awareness today when and within the film of spectators. We conclude our “Coke Chronicles” with the last five episodes from Snowfall Season 6 on a sad but appreciative note in Episode 47. Our host both agree this series ended in a way that was unexpected but appreciated the end result. Respect and kudos were giving to not only the talent in front of the camera but also those behind the pen. We discuss how arrogance, greed, and ego were the main things driving Franklin, Louie, and Reid in one way or another. In the end, those are the things that resulted in all of their downfalls. It was refreshing to see some of our loyal day one characters get a happy ending, which in a series like this, it is extremely rare. We say, “Goodbye” to the Saint family but excited for the possible spin-off that is expected to arrive with Wanda having a lead role.
