Was it ever in doubt? Maybe? Tadej Pogačar attacks exactly where you'd think he would be not before the rest of the peloton gave beating him a really good go. Sanny and Katy reconvene post-Ronde van Vlaanderen where there was a redemption, of sorts for Wout Van Aert, with Pedersen and van der Poel making the podium and kudos to Stuyven and Ganna in amongst it all. But... are we bored of Pogacar winning everything...? Lots to mull over here. In the women's race, we lost Elisa Longo Borghini early, and that was a big blow for the race which was run from a four-up sprint by the World Champion Kopecky. Could and should the others have tried something else to beat her? Pauline Ferrand-Prévot has to settle for second with a creditable ride for Liane Lippert in third as Tour de France champ Kasia Niewiadoma misses out. Symmetry in both races as the World Champions win, how does this set us up for Paris-Roubaix next weekend? We chat through it all, there's some slow-mo Pogacar and why the finish line couldn't be more boring if the organisers tried! Mathieu van der Poel is in form with wins at San Remo and E3 but Katy is backing Tadej Pogačar for victory in the biggest race in Belgium. After his and Visma Lease a Bike's nightmare at Dwars door Vlaanderen, Sanny and Katy discuss whether we'll ever see Wout van Aert back to his best. The women's race sees the formidable SD Worx Protime being the team to beat but Elisa Longo Borghini has beaten Lotte Kopecky already. Could Puck Pieterse spring a surprise? Mathieu van der Poel follows up Milan San Remo with a super win on the E3 Classic, There's consolation for Mads Pedersen who gets his Sunday victory at Gent-Wevelgem - more than just a consolation on the Classics Holy Week in Flanders. Lorena Wiebes makes it 100 not out with brilliant spring sprint victories in Belgium after her own San Remo success. Primoz Roglic takes victory at the Volta a Catalunya as we witness a star being born in Britain's new teen sensation, Matty Brennan! Sanny and Katy talk through the men's and women's Milan-San Remo races with all you need to know going into them and out of them and Mathieu van der Poel comes out on top in a 'race for the ages'. The women’s race - well first off it’s back - and it’s Lorena Wiebes who again shows her sprinting might, edging out Marianne Vos when it mattered most. Tom Pidcock and Cat Ferguson both have mirror images in how their races end. The women's race - too short, what can we do to fix it? The men's race - what can we take away from Pogacar's 'defeat' and why Filippo Ganna says years have been taken off his life?! PLUS Tour de France GRAND DEPART UK for 2027! Great news! What a brilliant couple of races into Siena! A battle only seen in Rocky films as Demi Vollering beats her mentor and old coach in Anna van der Breggen. In the men's race Tadej Pogacar gets a shoulder tap from history as he crashes in the rainbow bands but STILL wins in tuscany. We DO get the battle between Pogacar and Pidcock that Katy poo-pooed... should the British rider have been less of a gentleman though? Hot takes on changes after more crashes than ever on the white roads and Pogacar's boss has his say on whether he'll be taking on Paris-Roubaix. Loads and loads for Sanny and Katy to catch up on, in the women's and men's peloton. There's the Tadej Pogacar Paris-Roubaix rumours and confirmation from Tom Pidcock that, that ain't happening. Pidock wins his first race for Q36.5, whilst Adam Yates takes the Tour of Oman what exactly is Arabic for Peloton and, a better question , is everybody getting on and performing well at UAE Team Emirates? All's good in the UAE for Lorena Wiebes, as she storms to the top. A chat on safety after issues in France and more on the continued decline at INEOS Grenadiers. Noemi Ruegg takes the title, thanks to a brilliant attack up Willunga Hill for stage 2. What else did we learn from the first World Tour race of the year for the women's peloton? Well, for one, Chloe Dygert is ready to go. Just like Ruegg, Daniek Hengeveld announces herself on the world stage, Sanny and Katy take you through all three stages of the women's tour. Caleb Ewan is without a team - is that about to change? Geraint Thomas has had his say. It's been a long goodbye but our friend Daniel Benson was the man to break the news that Tom Pidcock has left INEOS for the second-tier Q36.5. How hs Pidcock's journey taken him to the Italian outfit and who exactly are they? Sanny and Katy are joined by Alicia Moyo to discuss Pidder's big move and why being the main man could mean we see him at his best in 2025. .. but will that be away from the stage races and more on the one-day scene? Speaking of which, we get breaking news on Tadej Pogacar's race calendar for 2025, we reflect on heartbreak for Remco Evenepoel after his crash, Maxim van Gill's move to Bora and friend of the pod, Julius Johansen gets his World Tour move to UAE Team Emirates. How many times will we say Tadej Pogacar is victorious on the road in 2024 - no more - the season is over as the Slovenian blows everyone away in Lombardia. Is road racing now the battle for second or even third when he’s racing? No Tom Pidcock present - has he thrown his toys out the pram one too many times at INEOS Grenadiers?! We have a big old chat on what's not been working for the Brit and whether we'll see him in an INEOS jersey again - could even end up privateering in cyclocross?? Lotte Kopecky bounces back from a stage 5 crash in the Simac Tour to show her domination of the women's peloton, We say goodbye to Christine Majerus in Holland and to the great Grace Brown in France as she bows out of cycling, with glory in the Chrono des Nations. Africa's road championships misses it's champion from the women's race, there's a spotlight on cyclocross for all the wrong reasons... and in the age old battle of Man v Horse, Tim de Clercq comes out on top. It’s a Dutch domination at the Gravel Worlds as Marianne Vos and Mathieu van der Poel take gold. How much gravel do you need for a gravel race and should more events take in multi-story car parks? Looking at the finish photos from Paris-Tour - should that be called a gravel race instead?! There’s deja vu at Giro dell'emilia as Tadej Pogacar takes the win with a strikingly similar attack as Matteo Jorgensen shows he’s a once AND twice bitten sort of person. Pogacar's going for the triple crown, can Mathieu van der Poel stop him? Where's Lotte Kopecky at in her quest to defend her crown and which of at least three Dutchwomen will be taking her on?! And speaking of doubles by the way, what about 18-year-old Cat Ferguson - we shine a light on a star in the making winning TT and RR world gold. Tadej Pogacar does it again. FIVE stages won at the Tour de France, but this wasn't in the script, was it?! Katy and Sanny discuss the highs and the lows of the race as Poggy again goes thermonuclear and we see emotional reactions on the line from Romain Bardet and Mark Cavendish. This gifting concept is knocked on the head fairly early on and with the time-trial tomorrow is it all feeling a little anti-climactic?! We get your thoughts too, listen out for Colin Sturgess namedrop Greg LeMond! Plus Katy and Sanny preview the time trial - Monaco to Nice. Tadej Pogacar destroys everyone, setting new records and leaving jaws on the floor to take Stage 19 of the Tour de France. Sanny and Katy review that incredible victory and note the climbing record achieved too. An emotional end for Jonas Vingegard once he crosses the line and reflections on those at the back of the peloton and the front. Richard Carapaz is in polka dots but does the King of the Mountains need a re-think? And Katy pays homage to Canada's Derek Gee. Stage 18 was another day for the break, and there was plenty of attacking as the race headed into the Alps. With a huge group up the road, who would take the honours, on possibly the last opportunity before the race heads into the big mountains for the finale of this year's race? And would the peloton finally sit back and take a day off? Josef Murray steps in for Sanny to review all the action on the stage, contemplate the prophecies of the mysterious 'mou' on Twitter, and look ahead to Stage 19, when the race for the GC gets serious, and the peloton must tackle two huge HC climbs on their way to Isola 2000 - will it be the day that Pogačar strikes the final blow, or can Vingegaard (or Evenepoel) rally? Stage 17 has everything, everywhere, all at once! Richard Carapaz breaks the breakaway and Simon Yates along the way to win his first ever Tour de France stage and complete the Grand Tour set. What about Pogacar's big attack on Vingegaard and then Remco Evenepoel's salvo for 10 seconds? Was the psychological point-scoring worth more than the time gained? Speaking of points, Biniam Girmay looks likes he's wrapped up the Green jersey. Katy is on hand to guide us - especially Sanny through the thrills and spills in the Alps. Nothing happened at all on this stage, nothing... until it did happen! Jasper Philpsen takes his third Tour de France stage with Stage 16. And with Biniam Girmay crashing, all of a sudden the battle for the green jersey is well and truly on. There's butting heads in the final sprint, we honour the ONE man who went in a breakaway - Thomas Gachignard and we look at what freebies you get in the peloton. Jeremy from Team Africa Rising is on the finish line as it's a nightmare for team Bini, a word on INEOS not having a good tour, the freebies in the caravan and preview Stage 17 which HAS TO BE for the breakaway or Katy is quitting cycling!! Tadej Pogacar takes stage 14 as Team UAE eventually crush the breakaway. Can Jonas Vingegaard respond tomorrow iwith more mountains to come or will Poggy push on? Remco throws out some gihting talk but is his GC cooked? We also salute the breakaway, talk motos being a tad too close and oh my days the guy with the crisps (chips) - 'Dorito Man' - looks like he may get a knock on the door soon. Jasper Philipsen takes stage 13 for his second Tour de France victory in this tour but has Biniam Girmay already wrapped up the Green jersey? We have bad news for Primoz Roglic as he drops out of the tour and there's a few rumours flying of friends, enemies and frenemies in the peloton too. What exactly is #ChateauWatch? The Tour shows it's two faces today - joy for the man in green and sorrow for the man desperate for yellow. Bimiam Girmay is now Africa's mist successful Grand Tour rider in history but Primoz Roglic getting caught up in a crash that should never have been allowed to happen, means his GC looks to be over. Our episode recorded minutes after the finale sees a live relegation for Arnaud Demare and Britain's Mark Cavendish and there's more disappointment with riders unable to finish as we work our way towards the Pyrenees. It's another sprint day tomorrow in our short and sweet episode today, but we do play a little 4D chess on who could win Stage 13 in Pau. The chillest of chill stages until the most chaotic of finishes as Tim Merlier takes it from Jonathan Milan in a sprint where neither looked like they'd win with 300m to go. Do you support a rider or a team? Sanny opens up that debate. We hear from some of you Stage 18 and look ahead to an exciting Stage 19. A weird old stage with a wonderful finish for 22-year-old Georg Steinhauser for his first ever win as a professional cyclist. A briilliant day in the saddle for him across the beautiful adn thankfuly passable surroundings of the Dolomites. What exactly were DSM and the rest of the peloton playing at in supressing every attempted breakaway? And as Tadej Pogacar seemingly effortlessly pulled away from the rest of the chasing pack, what was Geriant Thomas thinking? RCS come out fighting and Giulio Pelilizzari controversially beats Nairo Quintana to honour Fausto Coppi. And we also hear from Ricci Pascoe as Britain's only Conti team win a stage in Japan! Where to even begin eh?! Riders refusing to ride, an unsafe route and starting at a random petrol station. It's all covered before Sanny and Katy talk about the actual stage with Tadej Pogacar claiming a fifth victory at the Giro d'Italia. There's a big discussion on how this situation could and should have been avoided and how organisers have to stakeholders happy but not at the risk of the riders. Katy salutes Giulio Pelilizzari as the 20-year-old takes second but keeps his own Maglia Rosa from Poggy and we figure out who is going to be left to claim La Maglia Nera, the black jersey for last place in the general classification.Sanny Rudravajhala, Katy Magdwick review Stage Sixteen of the Giro d'Italia, and preview Stage Seventeen and which bits could be cancelled #giroditalia Presenters: Sanny Rudravajhala & Katy Madgwick @WriteBikeRepeat Contributor: Joe Timms @Timmsoski Producer: Sanny Rudravajhala @Sanny_Rudra San Pod Productions Let us know your thoughts #OnYerBikePod and please leave us a 5* review AND a comment - that will make a MASSIVE difference to whether other cycling fans can find us. Valentin Paret-Peintre steps out of his brother's slimline shadow for a first career win and on the biggest stage of all, a Grand Tour! It was a day for the breakaway and it's Romain Bardet who's thinking what next forhis tour. As a curious case of sprinter-only bigs spreads across the peloton, we also look at the battle for the young riders' GC and reflect on Tadej Pogacar's day in the saddle. Tadej Pogacar puts in the perfect individual time trial to take stage 7 of the Giro d'Italia. He blows Pippo Ganna away and puts a massive dent into Geraint Thomas' Maglia Rosa dreams. A week into the Giro, and the Slovenian has taken a firm hold on the General Classification front. And he didn't even need a Star Wars helmet or matching shorts to do it, although a random woman bashing Ganna probably didn't help Ineos Grenadiers out, despite a strong showing overall. Wow, wow, wow! Benjamin Thomas takes it for Cofidis! Their first win of the season and the Frenchman's first World Tour victory. A four man breakaway go all the way as the peloton dilly dallies and the bravest of riders take full advantage. There's a brilliant comeback story for second-placed Michael Valgren and what did you make of Andrea Pietrobon sitting on the wheels for a good hour or two? Tadej Pogacar still leads Geraint Thomas in the GC. We learn that he Slovenian's name is made of bread and also wonder what rail replacement bus we'd have for Britain's Giro Train. Tadej Pogacar releases his inner child and takes Geraint Thomas with him on a sprint finish!! Who expected that?! The actual sprinters caught napping before Tim Merlier just pipped it for victory to cap a Grand Tour comeback for him. What's up with Pogacar's shorts and should we be asking questions about the marginal gains won and lost by beards and hair? And what can we expect looking ahead to stage four of the Giro. A day later than perhaps planned Tadej Pogacar takes the pink jersey by winning Stage 2 of the Giro d'Italia. Some saying he emulated Marco Pantani in falling but coming back to take la Maglia Rosa, albeit not quite so dramatic. We had some brilliant Italian breakaways and saw cracks in GC riders and issues for Visma-Lease a Bike.
