#015. What's it like living your whole life with scars across your face and body? What are those losses like to grieve?
This is The Silent Why, a podcast on a mission to open up conversations around loss and grief and to see if hope can be found in 101 different types of loss.
Loss #11 of 101 - Loss of worldly beauty
For our first loss of the year we’re chatting to Virginia Solomons in South Africa, who was badly burned by fire when she was almost two years old.
Virginia tells us what it’s like to live with scars and a loss that is impossible to hide. As well as a loss of self, Virginia felt her main loss was the loss of beauty because of how the world viewed her and the comments she had to endure growing up, but she’s found true acceptance and happiness through her scars and now has a beautiful story of redemption to tell.
