Joe Kalamaras is the essence of what a Wedding DJ should be! He brings 38 years of experience that started at the age of 19. Fast forward to today, the creative behind SJ's Disc Jockey in Sacramento is the host of hosts that creates personal experiences for his couples. In fact, if I could do my wedding over again, there is no doubt that I would want Joe to be our DJ. He is truly top shelf and it's because of his care for his couples and his craft that sets him apart and should be a blueprint for all DJ's going into the industry.

Segment ONE 💥 gets right into it by describing the Wedding Experience as the DJ + Host. Joe shares the "Napkin Waving" trademark at his weddings. He discusses about establishing trust early and treating each wedding as its own entity.
Segment TWO 💥 starts with the origin of SJ's Disc Jockey back in the early 80's. We get insight to Joe's first wedding (imagine Wizard of Oz). The 38-year veteran shares his pivotal moment in 2006 when he decided to go full-time as a DJ. Kalamaras shares his 'Mic Drop' story along with hints of other services he is able to provide for his couples. Included is his decision to become an officiant (on a limited basis).
Segment THREE 💥 begins with DJ Myths (pretty fun). Kalamaras takes us through his Pivot as a DJ during Covid that included the origin of a digital business card that Joe could offer worldwide. He shares his Covid takeaways and the conversation finishes up with Rapid Fire 💥 and some great parting advice from Joe for aspiring DJ's.

▪️1. The NAPKIN WAVING and MIC DROP stories showcased for me why Joe is the best in the business when it comes to being a Wedding DJ. Fun stories.
▪️2. Joe's ability to gain the trust and confidence of the couple and their guests. There is a lot of work that goes into Joe's ability to craft his words that truly show guests that they are part of the whole experience. It was cool to hear him describe how that all happens.
▪️3. I couldn't stop thinking about future couples looking for their Wedding DJ. Joe reminded me of how important the DJ + Host is for your special day.

Our Connection | Joe and I met a few years ago. Had coffee at Pause Coffee in Orangevale to talk DJ shop. That one conversation led to an instant friendship. Joe has been instrumental in helping me elevate my wedding bookings in 2021 + 2022.
