In today's episode of Experience the Buzz, I go SOLO for the fourth time in this podcast journey. I am retiring as a teacher from St. Michael's Episcopal Day School in Carmichael. It has been my home away from home for the past 26 years (half of my life). Today I reflect on my incredible years as a teacher! What a true gift to have been in this profession!

And while this episode will resonate more with St. Michael's families, past and present, I believe it will also resonate with you the listener. Retirement is a funny thing. When I asked my 4th Graders to define retirement earlier this week, my favorite answer was "it's when you get old and can't do stuff anymore." Haha πŸ˜‚. Not me, but I appreciate the answer through the eyes of a child. Another person said to me, "so that means you only have 34 jobs now." So good!

I never intended to be a teacher. This guy had his sites set on being a play-by-play announcer for the NBA's Sacramento Kings. Instead, GOD directed me on a path that has been so incredibly rewarding on many levels. It takes me back to what this podcast is all about. THE JOURNEY. We each have one. We each have a story to tell. And through those stories, we can connect with others around this.

I am so thankful to St. Michael's. Closing the chapter on one book and getting ready to open another. Yes! I will get to embrace my life as an entrepreneur. But, this seed was planted by the most important thing surrounding this decision ... spending more time with my wife of 28 years Kristin. We are really excited about that! And I do have my eyes on improving my GOLF ⛳️ game.

Enjoy today's Talking Story 🏝
It's a SPECIAL one!
