JACKIE WADA has a gift. Wada, who is a Sacramento native, has built a successful business in both basketball and art. Wada is the founder of Wada Life Basketball Training as well as Wada Art. Get ready to be impressed. When you hear Jackie speak about her business, you can tell that she is tapping into something bigger than basketball and art itself. She has proven to not only have deep knowledge in her subjects but more importantly to be a mentor to those around her.

In today's episode of Experience the Buzz, Host Steve Buzzard can't stop saying great things about Wada. "I knew it when we met for the first time a few years ago. She has an energy that you want to be a part of. It's even more impressive that she has been able to establish in two completely different worlds." Our conversation hits THREE areas:

SEGMENT ONE 🏀 kicks off with the origin of the name, WADA LIFE. We discuss the importance of teaching life skills through sports. Jackie reveals what is behind her WADA LIFE Basketball training. She unfolds the importance of defense and fundamentals in basketball.
SEGMENT TWO 🏀 kicks off with Jackie's childhood and her life in basketball. She shares the greatest life skill bestowed upon her by her father. We get into the topic of kids and being sport specific at a young age. Jackie takes us down memory lane about her playing days at CK McClatchey High School and then what happened beyond high school.
SEGMENT THREE🎨 starts off with Jackie Wada the artist. Wada shares who she looks up to in the art and basketball world. We touch on the following subjects: Kobe Bryant, the WNBA, Sacramento, being an entrepreneur. We finish off with RAPID FIRE 💥!

Here are my favorite HIGHLIGHTS ...
▪️1. The importance of mentors. Starting with her father ("Be On Time") as well as her two basketball coaches, Marvin Nakamoto and Jeff Ota. Speaks to the importance of people outside of our parents.
▪️2. Her admission of being in a phase of life right now where she is trying to achieve balance in her life regarding her two very different worlds of basketball and art.
▪️3. Have to say it again ... Jackie 'GETS IT.' By that, I mean she understands the Big Picture and accepts the ability to continue to learn and get better at what she does. It's impressive.

Our Connection | I met Jackie at a Positive Coaching Alliance event where she was being honored as a Double Goal Coach Award recipient. Introduced myself knowing that we needed to partner together.
