KIM GRIFFIN was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2013. Her world changed. One of the results of her diagnosis was to put pen to paper. And last year, she published a book called "#CURIOUS CONNECTIONS - Raising Boys to Men." The book showcases 18 stories involving her two sons, Brien and Matthew. Today's episode definitely centers around the book, but also serves as an education into the world of MS and what Kim's daily life looks like.
In today's episode of Experience the Buzz, Host Steve Buzzard enjoys some great stories from Kim. "Kim was an amazing guest. Having gone through experiencing cancer with my mom, I found it important that we get an inside look at how a diagnosis shapes one life. What I gathered was that life doesn't stop and not only does it not stop, it can be a beautiful thing with a different perspective." Our conversation hits THREE areas:
Here are my favorite HIGHLIGHTS ...
1. The purpose behind writing the book. It served as a reminder that as parents, we all have the opportunity to self publish our family memories.
2. Kim was nervous about being a guest. By podcast end, it was powerful for me to see how well she told her story. It was truly a great conversation.
3. The education of MS. This interview is part of the process of getting to know people on a deeper level. We understand people better when we know their full story. Power of the podcast.
Our Connection | I have known Kim and the Griffin family for nearly 20 years. Brien and Matthew were regular attenders of Buzzardball, participating in both the Summer Basketball Camp and Winter Basketball League ๐.
