HOSPICE is usually viewed as a scary word. The truth is that many of us don't know what hospice entails for families and those receiving the care. I can tell you first hand, it made a difference in my mom's life. Having battled cancer for over 30 years, hospice created a peaceful and comfortable environment that allowed me to spend the final days with my mom. It made ALL the difference. Today, I have brought on the experts to help debunk the myths. Clark Wright and Michele Fuhrman of Suncrest Hospice join me on Experience the Buzz.

In today's episode of Experience the Buzz, Host Steve Buzzard sits back and gets educated on the world of hospice. "i am so grateful to Clark and Michele for their insight into the power and advantage of hospice in regards to our loved ones." Our conversation hits THREE areas:

  • SEGMENT ONE  breaks down the definition and meaning of hospice in general. We find out who is eligible and who pays for hospice. This segments also highlights the advantage of Suncrest Hospice, the biggest being the team aspect and the ability to have their caretakers see patients up to five days a week.
  • SEGMENT TWO  gives us the background on our two guests. Clark came from the education world while Michele came from being in floral design and mobile bidding. Find out how to become a volunteer. Clark discusses building his Suncrest team. And Michele fills us in on some other great facts surrounding hospice care.
  • SEGMENT THREE  is devoted to amazing stories of greatness surrounding the caretakers of Suncrest Hospice.  We found out more about the founders of Suncrest as well as how to inquire about hospice for a loved one. We finish out with Rapid Fire 💥.

Here are my favorite HIGHLIGHTS  ...
1. Important to know the definition of HOSPICE. Here it is. Hospice is a type of medical care that gives seriously ill patients and their loved ones meaningful time together when the focus of care turns from active treatment to comfort and quality of life near the end of life. Hospice is not a place. Rather, it is a full range of services that put patients and families in control, giving them hope about their last days, weeks and months together.
2. It's all about the journey. Interesting in how both Clark and Michele arrived at Suncrest. The common theme? Life skills that can allow you to move from one line of work to another.
3. "I come alive when I can help a family." - Michele

Our Connection |  Michele and I were friends in high school where I attended Christian Brothers and she attended St. Francis High School.
