THE CAUSEWAY CLASSIC has produced some memorable games between its participants, UC Davis and Sac State. In 2021, the 67th Causeway Classic may be the biggest showdown in the history of the rivalry. Both teams are 8-2. The winner will probably receive a first-round bye in the upcoming playoffs while the loser will have to go on the road as a lower seed with a much steeper hill to climb.

In today's episode of Experience the Buzz, Host Steve Buzzard decided to bring the radio personalities of each school together to have a Causeway Classic Round Table. And that we did. Representing UC Davis (who will be the home team for the 2021 battle) is Scott Marsh and Doug Kelly. And representing Hornets radio is Jason Ross and Steve McElroy. There are a lot of years between this quartet when it comes to broadcasting football games.

SEGMENT 1 🏈 takes a look at the history of the rivalry as well as a preview of what is expected in the 2021 version of the Causeway Classic.
SEGMENT 2 🏈 is dedicated to life in the broadcast booth. Some things are shared that you may not have known in regards to subjects like preparation, game day, etc. Some great insight from the guys.
SEGMENT 3 🏈 is dedicated to the memories shared by the five of us over the course of what has been almost 30 combined years of broadcasting college football in the Sacramento and Davis region.

Our Connection | These guys are my friends. I had the honor of being the Voice of UC Davis Aggie Football for 14 years. Scott Marsh took over my spot and has carried the torch for 15 years while DK has had to endure us both for a total of close to 30 years. On the flip side, Ross and McElroy have been together since Day One when they first started broadcasting Sac State Football 26 years ago. Impressive!
