Raven On began life as a Game of Thrones podcast, and now covers a range of TV & film content (including House of the Dragon!), such as the current 2023 "Revvin On" edition focusing on The Fast and the Furious franchise. Brisbane-based hosts Natalie Bochenski (@girlclumsy) and Stuart Layt (@discostu)discuss all sorts of geeky goodness, including: a James Bond retrospective in 2020, a bunch of Marvel TV shows in 2021, and capsule collections on Batman movies and Robin Hood flicks in 2022.

Can you believe it's finale time?! The eighth and final episode of House of the Dragon is here, and Nat and Tom are ready to deep dive like a dragon off the cliffs of Dragonstone. Yeah, that's a metaphor that kind of works. Everyone had something going on in this episode: Rhaena's chasing a mangy feral; Tyland meets a gender-bending admiral; Aegon takes his bad leg (and sizzled wang) on the run; Aemond goes nuts; Helaena seems to be able to drop in on Daemon's dreams; and Rhaenyra and Alicent have a final epic confrontation. Thank you so much for listening to us this season; particularly as we navigate podcasting without the massive talent and presence of the one and only Stuart Layt. He would have loved this season so much. <3

Tom is in Edinburgh prepping a show, and Natalie is also in a very glamourous location (her couch), but nothing can stop them talking all things HotD penultimate episode! Rhaenyra's dragonriding auditions hit full swing with more misses than hits, but still, hits that count. Oscar Tully is everyone's new favourite Daemon-slapping young leader, Ser Larys is shenanigan-ing in the capital, and Alicent has gone bush. One more episode to go! Eeek!
Wed, July 24, 2024
Lordy lordy, quite a saucy moment at the, ahem, climax of this week's episode of House of the Dragon. Nat & Tom break down the magic moment between Rhaenyra and Mysaria; Alicent's terrible relationships with her sons; Daemon's psychological breakthrough at Harrenhal; and the continuing effects of all this on the "Smallfolk" of the title. Plus dragon riding is tougher than you might think; unless you're the right person, of course. Enjoy!
Thu, July 18, 2024
Nat and Tom are back to deconstruct Daemon's dodgy dream in this week's House of the Dragon. The Harrenhal ergot is wild, man. It's a slower episode after the fire and blood of last time, but there's still a lot of great moments and characters wallowing in frustration to make for excellent discussions: Alicent getting mansplained out of a job; Rhaenyra and Jace hoping to plant some new seeds; Aegon's crispy dilemma; the Riverlords getting hella mad. Enjoy!
Thu, July 11, 2024
NO NO NO NO NO WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING Sigh. You watch Game of Thrones/House of the Dragon for a decade and yet you STILL don't think you're going to have your heart broken. We sweet summer children. Tom's in France, but has found an hour away from the champagne and fromage to chat to Natalie about the epic Battle of Rooks Rest, and its terrible climax. Plus - Aegon really wants to matter, Alicent's starting to give no f***s, and Daemon is going slightly mad. Also, at one point, Natalie references a weird-ass thumping dance track from the 90s called "Dead Eyes Opened". It looks as it was originally from an Australian band in 1983, but then it was pumped up in '94, and that's the one Natalie remembers. It's here if you want to take a look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJJ5WEmW5OI

As Tom says to Nat in this episode re: nudity: "ask and ye shall receive". There's a lot to this week's HotD, but surely Hot D itself is a... well.... large part of it. Join Nat and Tom as they deep dive into Alicent and Rhaenyra's reunion, the arrival of Sir Simon as Ser Simon, Ser Gwayne the Green Knight and more. There's also updates on the impending British election, AND a tangent about why Nat's brain might not be functioning properly. Enjoy!
Wed, June 26, 2024
Nat and Tom are back for more Hot D, and it's all go go go as King Aegon seeks revenge for a little dynastic trouble he's had imposed on him. There's a focus on what the role the smallfolk will play in the battles ahead, as well as some proper acting, tantrums, twin talk, and more. There's also a little Doctor Who season finale wrap-up, plus a bit of chatter about the bonkers British election, or "gennie lec" as the kids might say. Natalie also forgets to do the regular "where you can find us" should out, so just in case - it's @girlclumsy and @tomsalinsky on Twitter/X, www.patreon.com/girlclumsy and www.facebook.com/nataliesthrone. Enjoy!

By the Old Gods and new, this is a very strange thing - to be delighted to be back in Westeros, but still so sad our wonderful friend and bloodrider Stuart Layt isn't here to lead the way with his booming laugh and unparalled knowledge of all things House of the Dragon. While of course Stu is irreplaceable, it's wonderful to welcome podcast regular Tom Salinsky onboard to help steer the dragon through Season 2 of HotD. There's lots to chew over in this first instalment, including the return (briefly) of the Starks, Alicent and Cristan Cole-dancing, Rhaenyra's grief, Aegon's magnanimity, and a terrible crime to wrap it all up.

Singing! Goblins! Singing Goblins! New Doctor! New Companion! It's all happening in Ncuti Gatwa's first full episode as The Doctor in The Church on Ruby Road. John and Tom from the Best Pick Pod join Natalie to recap this Christmas episode, complete with babe left outside a church on Christmas Eve, goblin karaoke, mysterious set-ups for future episodes, and Davina McCall (who is a big deal in the UK, apparently).
Tue, December 12, 2023
The trio of Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Specials concludes with "The Giggle", in which Neil Patrick Harris has the time of his life with a dance number to a song very close to Natalie's heart. Once again she's joined by Tom and John from the Best Pick Pod to deep dive into David Tennant's last(?) outing as the Fourteenth Doctor and (spoiler!) Ncuti Gatwa's first appearance as the Fifteenth. Thanks for listening to these podcast specials, which of course have been our first since losing the lion-hearted, Doctor Who-loving genius that was Stuart Layt. We know he would have loved them.
Mon, December 04, 2023
It's the second 60th anniversary special, and Natalie is joined once more by Tom and John from the Best Pick Pod to discuss "Wild Blue Yonder". It turns out you can have a slightly-too-cutesy-and-quite-naff pre-credit sequence and then switch things up for a fabulously creepy episode set at the edge of the universe. Enjoy!
Tue, November 28, 2023
Kittens! This is WEIRD. It is WEIRD to podcast without the genius that is Stuart Layt. WEIRD, and NOT RIGHT. Sadly Stu passed away three months ago, and boy am I still mad about it. Particularly since he LOVED Doctor Who with his whole soul. But I am so glad that Tom Salinsky from the brilliant Best Pick Pod reached out about joining forces to recap the David Tennant 60th anniversary specials. And so here it is - Who's Raven On with Tom and John from the Best Pick Pod, chatting all things Star Beast. This same podcast will appear on their feed (albeit with a different top and tail!). I hope you enjoy it. Much love, wonderful listeners.
Sat, November 25, 2023
Hello, my friends. I'm sorry it's been so long. I've recorded a little chat just about Stu, and what it's been like without him, and what might happen next with the podcast. I hope you can take a listen if/when you're up to it. I hope you are all well and happy, wonderful listeners. Much love. xoxo MoK.

Lookout! Natalie's got herself a soundboard and isn't afraid to use it. Will this be enough to alienate Stu? Probably not, because he loves these dang movies too much. When Agent Hobbes needs to take down a car-based baddie, of course he turns to Dom's car-based superhero crew. They hit London to make those stupid Brits look even stupider, and track down the badass Owen Shaw. There's a chase through the Monopoly board, Rita Ora in hot pants, and Letty's back from the dead. Enjoy!
Wed, May 03, 2023
Well HELLO sunshine! Nat & Stu head to Rio de Janeiro for the most ridiculous - and dare we say - most fun instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise so far. Your intrepid hosts are joined by the uber-clever Tom Salinsky from London, a PROPER critic who's ready to throw down in support of the franchise and all it stands for. There's The Rock's beefiness, Vin Diesel's meatiness, Gal Gadot's butt and so much more in this super fun heist caper that features a Scooby gang of car-based criminals. Enjoy!
Sun, March 19, 2023
In an eclectic turn, this podcast features all manner of pop culture subjects including the classic Australian series "Underbelly", the classic English detective series "Vera", and the classic time Nat & Stu watched a porno. That might give you an indication of how much the fourth instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise - conveniently called "Fast & Furious" - held the attention of your erstwhile hosts. Still, there's a bit to dive into about the film, including its somewhat familiar plot, obsession with tunnels, and big twist reveal. Enjoy!
Tue, March 07, 2023
With Vin Diesel and Paul Walker seemingly gone for good, The Fast & The Furious franchise tries to reboot, Tokyo-style, with a whole new cast of racing identities across the Pacific. The kid from American Gothic gets sent to Japan as punishment for illegal street racing, and immediately gets caught up in a whole new set of illegal street races. Nat & Stu dissect it all, including the creepy relationship between the "Drift King" and his girlfriend, the girlfriend's weird Australian accent, and how Han was so cool they go on to bend time around him. Also, Natalie stuns Stu with the revelation that she once dragged race at an official raceway outside venue. Stu cannot believe she would bury this on a podcast he doesn't believe many people will listen to - so prove him wrong! Enjoy.
Thu, February 09, 2023
Nat and Stu re-start their engines for the second instalment in the Fast & Furious franchise: 2 Fast 2 Furious. Brian O'Connor is back - no longer a cop, he makes his money from what else, illegal street racing. But he's given a chance to clear his records by what else, going undercover to run cash for a drug baron. There's no Vin Diesel, but there is Tyrese. Also Ludacris. It's a rappers' delight. Together they WILL jump a car onto a boat. This ep also sees the introduction of commentary by Natalie's brother and F&F fanatic, Simon. Enjoy!
Tue, January 31, 2023
Happy 2023! Nat & Stu return for the new year with a new podcast subsection analytical thingy - it's Revvin' On! Your hosts are beginning their road trip with 2001's franchise origin story "The Fast and the Furious". It's Paul Walker as an undercover cop infiltrating Vin Diesel's street-racing crew. There's cars! Nitrous! Absolutely no bras whatsoever! And a sweaty film of grease covering everyone! Enjoy!
Tue, December 27, 2022
One year and two months after seeing the film in the cinema, Nat & Stu finally return to do their long-promised (or long-threatened?) deep dive into the 25th Bond movie, No Time To Die. It turns out not being furious about the film's big plot twist makes the viewing experience more pleasant, as both hosts are more receptive to this film second time around. There's still a bit of confusion over the plot, but hey, when you're working with NANOBOTS! anything can happen. This is the last podcast for 2022 - have a safe and happy New Year and we'll see you in 2023 for more vocal shenanigans!
Mon, December 12, 2022
It's the movie that literally gave Natalie a bout of vertigo - Robin Hood 2018. That's right, it's a thing that exists. Stu joins Nat as she battles through head-spinning brought on by this batshit insane version of a Robin Hood movie that has very little to recommend it. Mendo is the Sheriff! Jamie Foxx has a metal hand! Marian wears a leather jacket and hands out soup! Robin himself seems to have no concrete plans! And also... Tim Minchin is there, and probably shouldn't have been! There's lots of other sidebars and tangents, including the genuis of the 1993 Three Musketeers movie and fast-forwarding through Lady Chatterley's Lover, plus talk of what's coming next with the pod. Enjoy!
Tue, November 29, 2022
Nat & Stu head back to Sherwood Forest to begin wrapping up their "Robin On" subsection podcast thingy. This time, it's Big Russ' turn in the tights, with Our Cate riding shotgun as Lady Marian. There's a lengthy discussion of Russell Crowe's film history to begin with, before a dissection of why this film is a weird mess. Natalie even goes super history nerd to explain why the historical context just doesn't work. The pair then close out with a chit-chat about the trials and tribulations at Twitter. Thanks to everyone for listening - particularly Patrons! You can join at www.patreon.com/girlclumsy. Enjoy!
Wed, October 26, 2022
Jodie Whittaker's time as The Doctor must come to a close, but not before a jam-packed 90 minute episode featuring the Master (as Rasputin, for at least some of it), the Cybermen, the Daleks, a bunch of former Doctors and 80s super companions Tegan and Ace. Hosts Nat & Stu are joined by London correspondent Tom Salinsky to try to understand exactly what happened in this story, and reflect on Thirteen's time and the Chris Chibnall era in general. Enjoy!
Tue, October 25, 2022
Can you believe the House of the Dragon series finale is here?!?! Nat and Stu roll up their sleeves and dive into an emotionally charged and physically intense episode - particularly for Rhaenyra Targaryen! There's another crazy birth scene, a confrontation with Otto, some classic Daemon insults, Rhaenyra being a boss, and of course, a devastating final sequence that sets up the battles to come. Your intrepid hosts also throw out some ideas for what they'll podcast about next now that HotD has wrapped! Enjoy.
Tue, October 18, 2022
A tense episode capped with an explosive ending, which ensnares our intrepid co-hosts into heated debate about whether it works as a plot contrivance, or hinders future developments. There's a fun chase through Fleabottom looking for Aegon, tension between Alicent and... pretty much everybody, and some hot new twins to lust over. We also get an update on "Stu's Hot Ring", where he reflects on the first Rings of Power series. Enjoy!
Wed, October 12, 2022
Nat & Stu totally lose their heads with this ominous episode of HotD, in which Viserys has to find the strength to put his illness aside for the sake of getting his family to have one goddamn meal together. There's quarrels over inheritance, reputation rants flying around, kids beating the shit out of each other (again!) and some of the more concise dispute resolution we've seen. Nat & Stu also talk about the weird spoiler-happy culture around this show that seems the opposite of the Game of Thrones days. By popular demand, we also hear again from "Stu's Hot Ring": his take on how that whole Rings of Power show is working out. Thanks to all Patron supporters in particular for keeping this ship sailing. Enjoy!
Mon, October 03, 2022
The family drama is HAPPENING this episode, as House of the Dragon takes us to Driftmark for Laena's funeral and the fallout. Nat & Stu are here to take you through it, even if Nat's viewing experience wasn't exactly ideal. There's a happy ending for Lenny & Carl, a weird bloody reunion for Rhaenyra and her uncle, and a lot of fighting kids. Plus Alicent loses her shit! Buckle up and enjoy - we even get Stu's lowdown on how the series is comparing to that OTHER big fantasy show at the moment.
Wed, September 28, 2022
Ten years may have passed, but Nat & Stu are here to get you all up to speed on the latest developments in King's Landing and places beyond. Our lead actors have changed, many children have been introduced, and the body count is sadly high with this one (including a fan favourite, cut down before his sexy, sexy time). Your hosts also discuss the ethical grey areas inhabited by Rhaenyra and Alicent, Laena Valeryon's badassery, Lord Larys' creepiness and try not to kink-shame young Aegon. Plus much more. Enjoy!
Sun, September 25, 2022
What's this? A randomly recorded podcast that Stu is currently looking at thinking "Wait, I didn't record anything extra with Nat this week?!" AH HA STU! You're right! Nat's in Sydney being LOOSE-LIPPED. This is a fun chat that happened on Sun 25 Sept at "Titanic: The Movie, The Play", which is Nat's show happening in Sydney until 2 October. You should come!
Mon, September 19, 2022
It's time for a royal wedding in Westeros, and that means absolutely nothing can go wrong! Nat & Stu are back (super early, with Nat's recap to follow) to discuss all the hijinks of the Lavender Marriage between Rhaenyra and Laenor, the fallout from the Princess' secret assignation with Ser Criston Cole, and the falloff from whatever the hell disease is plaguing poor Viserys. Plus Alicent goes full FASHION. Enjoy!
Thu, September 15, 2022
Raven On is a bit late this week because GUESS WHO fractured her ankle while walking along George St in Sydney? Natalie spends the first 15 mins of this episode relaying her adventures in pavement-induced injuries and hospital visits. But eventually she and long-suffering co-host Stu get down to business to discuss episode 4 of Raven On, where everyone... basically gets down to business. Daemon's back in town and takes Rhaenyra partying, Rhaenyra calls in Ser Criston for some very personal bodyguarding, Alicent finds dissatisfaction in the marital bed, and Otto overreaches. Enjoy!

This is test audio. There is nothing of interest here, just testing to see if this uploads to Apple podcasts
Fri, September 09, 2022
This is a re-upload of HotD S1E3 because apparently the first one didn't go through to Apple Podcasts! Natalie did everything as usual with the upload, so just needs to see if it was a glitch or if there is some problem she needs to figure out. Thanks for your patience! ----- Nat & Stu are back to discuss episode 3 of HotD, "Second of His Name". They DO eventually do that, but be fair warned that they take a slight detour into Middle Earth so Stu can update Nat on the new Lord of the Rings series. Also, a decent chunk of time is devoted to possibly the funniest "We're going for a drive, kids" story, courtesy of Stu's Dad. Dads in general cop a roasting here, but it's from a place of love. You can also expect boar wars, harts-to-harts, Crabfeeder getting his crab-uppance, and more!

Get ready for the all-you-can-eat seafood buffet, as Crabfeeder is starting to make his mark! Nat & Stu return to recap Episode 2 of House of the Dragon, aka "The One With All The Child Brides". Join your intrepid hosts as they examine how Viserys' personal life is being influenced by his advisers, Rhaenyra coming to grips with grief, trying to involve Dad again and then being betrayed, plus the Dragonstone stand-off between Otto and Daemon. Enjoy!
Tue, August 23, 2022
IT BEGINS! Nat & Stu are delighted to be back and diving into House of the Dragon. They begin with an overview of the hype around the show and the welcome return of event TV; and the set-up for the drama to come, with succession concerns and daddy/daughter dilemmas. The newly-dubbed Matt Daemon gets a good working out, as indeed does his butt; and there's a detailed discussion about the violence in this debut episode - too gratuitous, or basically, it's Game of Thrones, strap yourselves in? A note on recording: unfortunately our mic set-up was suboptimal, and so you will hear Stu sounding more distant than Nat. Your dynamic duo will work on getting this fixed for the next instalment! Enjoy!
Sat, August 20, 2022
The legend had it coming... but was the skewering tasty enough? Nat & Stu are joined by pun-lovin' guest Scott to dissect "Robin Hood: Men in Tights", the 1993 Mel Brooks satire of the legendary outlaw. The team discus where this film sits in the Mel Brooks-verse, it's strengths and weaknesses, and what you could do in the early 90s that you probably wouldn't do now. Enjoy!
Sun, July 24, 2022
After years promising that one day they would sit down and podcast about Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Nat & Stu finally do just that in this long-awaited for (by Nat, at least) instalment of "Robin On"! Sure, Kevin Costner doesn't have an English accent. But if you use that as your opening criticism of this brilliant film, prepare to be beaten over the head by Nat & Stu's enthusiasm for a spectacular adventure full of romance, action, and Alan Rickman being the absolute king of the drama queens. To be honest, we're surprised this podcast came in at 90 mins. They'll probably want to do a follow up with all the stuff they missed... enjoy!
Mon, July 11, 2022
With Robin Hood stories mostly relegated to TV screens in the 1980s, Nat & Stu jump ahead to 1991 to examine the first of TWO Robin Hood movies released in this year. Patrick Bergin pulls on the tights - or rather, the leather pants - in this British-made film that features a surprising number of familiar faces. Nat & Stu dive into the strange world of Robert Hode, his cross-dressing Maid Marian, a young David Morrissey, and the complete lack of a Sheriff of Nottingham. There are some weird choices in this movie, which results in some inevitable comparisons to the *other* Robin Hood film of '91, which we're sure you couldn't possible guess.
Sun, June 19, 2022
You could have smacked Nat & Stu over the head with a raven feather when they heard the news that HBO is developing a potential Jon Snow-focused Game of Thrones spin-off series. Of course, this required an emergency podcast to chat about the (virtually non-existent)details of the proposed show, the possibility of abs, and of course, the need for more Tormund Giantsbane. They also spiral off (surprise) into some other geeky territory including Doctor Who and James Bond. Enjoy!
Mon, June 13, 2022
Nat & Stu's trek through Sherwood Forest continues with 1976's "Robin and Marian". It's Sean Connery wearing a sack and showing his hairy bottom more than you'd probably expect; plus Audrey Hepburn making her return to the screen after 8 years and looking just as luminous as always. Your intrepid hosts deep dive into this more serious, thoughtful, even philosophical take on the Robin Hood legend, in which Robin and Marian are reunited after 20 years of Robin's adventuring - only to find his enemy the Sheriff of Nottingham is still sitting too close to home. There's reflections on ageing, pondering the end of this film, and of course, some hot portcullis action. Enjoy!
Sat, May 07, 2022
"History doesn't remember blood. It remembers names." And here are TWO names for you, friends, Natalie & Stu! Your Westerosi wizards are back to break down the newly released House of the Dragon teaser trailer. They intended to chat for 10 minutes, but it turned into 35, and honestly, are you surprised? It's NEW GAME OF THRONES PEOPLE.
Wed, April 20, 2022
What's this? An out-of-time special episode of Who's Raven On? Why yes! The BBC gave Doctor Who fans an Easter treat... although one might argue it wasn't the finest chocolate bunny in the shop. Still, new Who is new Who, and Who Better to join Nat & Stu than Greg from the Smart Enough to Know Better podcast? Strap yourselves in for a two hour deep dive into the Sea Devils and their.... plan? ...for world domination (hint: it involves water). There's talk of Dan's OTT pirate costume, the tease of Thasmin, and the mystifying mystery of what apparently makes Yas so great. Enjoy!
Mon, April 11, 2022
Finally, the Raven Bat anthology comes to a (at least for now) close with the latest installment... The Batman! Greg from the Smart Enough to Know Better podcast joins Nat and Stu for a very deep dive into this new Gotham City with its Vengeance Man and its clubs within clubs and its weird incel Zodiac wannabe bad guy. Also Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman. MWAH. Settle in with a snack or two and chill out with this immersive Gotham-y experience. Enjoy!
Sun, April 03, 2022
Slide into nostalgia with the latest episode of Robin On as Nat & Stu take a look back at the beloved 1974 Disney classic! London correspondent and Disney expert Tom Salinsky joins your intrepid hosts as they deep dive into the House of Mouse and why its first full animated feature is not perhaps as high quality as some of its previous - and subsequent - works. There's also a LOT of chat about furries, so, you know, strap on your suit and join us for some real talk.
Sun, March 13, 2022
Welcome to 1952, and is this the blandest man to ever don the green tights? It's a big call to make, but it seems to be the consensus as Nat & Stu dive into the 1952 Disney-RKO Robin Hood co-pro, shot in England. The good news is Peter Finch is in this film as an unsmiling and quietly furious Sheriff of Nottingham. He gets crushed by a drawbridge at the end, spoilers. Your erstwhile hosts get stuck into the plot differences between this and its 1938 predecessor, as well as strange inclusion of Allan a-Dale, the welcome inclusion of Eleanor of Aquitaine and the pantslessness of Little John. Enjoy!
Wed, March 02, 2022
Pull on your tights and get that feather in your cap - it's time to begin our life in Sherwood Forest! Nat & Stu return with another capsule movie recap series, and this time it's all things Robin Hood. While there are Robin Hood films BEFORE the 1938 classic "The Adventures of Robin Hood", there's no real point starting anywhere but this BANGER featuring Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland. Your outlaw hosts discuss Errol Flynn as the epitome of "problematic fave", the joyous colour and sound of this Technicolour marvel, and how life on the run in Sherwood just seems like the best time ever. Enjoy!
Tue, February 15, 2022
WE'VE DONE IT... we've released the Snyder Cut! Well, the Snyder Cut-esque version of our podcast on Justice League, both the Whedon and Snyder varieties. Confused? You'll only get MORE so after listening to more than two hours of history, film critique and nostalgia. We're not kidding, stay tuned for Nat's tragic still living in the Nineties rants. Anyway, point is, we wanted to give this film/these films a go, and get a whole lot of bamboozled along the way. Definitely free free to listen in sections; or not, we won't be offended. Enjoy!
Mon, February 07, 2022
Secret password for this podcast is "Iron Man Sucks!" Yes, Natalie and Stu get a very welcome piece of absolute f***ing delight with The Lego Batman Movie. From Will Arnett's grisly tones as the Dark Knight, to the appearance of villains as obscure as the Condiment King, to the appearance of Robin and Babs Gordon - this movie is a damn joy. But where does it sit in the annals of Batman film history? Join Nat & Stu for effusive praise and meta-commentary.
Mon, January 31, 2022
Here we go, Batfans... the first appearance of Batfleck! After being let loose with Superman, director Zach Synder persuaded Warner Bros to let him create a sequel... basically so he could make a Batman movie. Nat & Stu grind their way through this often dour movie, brightened somewhat by Henry Cavill's pure beauty, and Gal Gadot's scene-stealing turn as Wonder Woman. Stay tuned to the end where they'll reveal what they're going to focus on once this Batman series is complete! Enjoy!
Tue, January 25, 2022
MMPFHFH! YUFSFU SUYFISHHF OIFNMMM SDISFLK! That's Bane saying "Welcome! It's time for The Dark Knight Rises!" in muffled mask voice. Yes, Nat & Stu have arrived at the final instalment in the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy, and they've brought superfan and magician Pete Booth along for the ride. Enjoy this thorough discussion of a film that has a lot of flaws, but surprisingly seems to stand up better than certainly Nat & Stu recollected. There's also lots of talk about magic on film, Gotham's strange city colours, and many impressions of Tom Hardy's theatrical take on Bane. Enjoy!
Mon, January 17, 2022
It's not the podcast you deserve... but it's the one you NEED. That's right, Nat & Stu are back for their deep dive into The Dark Knight. Along for the ride is Dan from the Smart Enough to Know Better podcast, who wasn't initially a fan of this film. Has his opinion changed? Lots to chat about with this one, including the themes of terrorism and the shadows we cast; along with whether Maggie Gyllenhaal was a better Rachael Dawes then Katie Holmes, the tragic fall of Harvey Dent, and the sheer batshit wonder that is Heath Ledger's Joker. The Australian actor's untimely death also looms large over this entire film, and your intrepid podcasters go in to his legacy.
Wed, January 05, 2022
Welcome to 2022! Nat and Stu are back for another year of pop culture banter, and kicking off the New Year with the Doctor Who Eve of the Daleks special. In the spirit of making it a party, special guests Greg and Tom are back to throw in their two cents on this time loop episode. It turns out this was probably more enjoyable as a standalone than much of "The Floox" series, but as we'll find out, there are still some questionable elements. Enjoy!
Thu, December 09, 2021
We got the WHOLE FAM back together for the final episode of The Floox! Both Greg from the Smart Enough to Know Better podcast and Tom from the Best Pick Pod return to help Nat & Stu sum up the storyline and lessons learned from this six-episode adventure. There's a lot of confusion and a fair bit of frustration - mostly from Natalie when her jokes bomb. But also, everyone's a bit emotionally battered by Chris Chibnall, so if you are too, join us in the TARDIS (which apparently isn't sick anymore, even thought it was... oh never mind, just listen). Thank you so much for listening to this Who's Raven On podcast subsection - a special thank you to all of the Patrons over at patreon.com/girlclumsy
Wed, December 01, 2021
"What if Doctor Who but a seizure?" That's how special guest Tom Salinsky begins his take on The Flux, Episode 5 "Survivors of The Flux". Seizure indeed, as there's so much happening in this episode it'll make you spin - Yaz, Dan and Jericho trekking around Earth in 1904, the Doctor outside the universe with an old friend (enemy?) and Dot Cotton from Line of Duty jumping all over the place to start and stop UNIT. Tom and Stu have predictions for the final episode, and there's a bit of a chat about episodes gone by that really hit it out of the park, and what RTD might bring back. Enjoy!

SWEAR TO ME... that you'll listen to Nat & Stu as they jump cowl-first into the 2005 gritty reboot of the Batman movie franchise! It turns out it takes a bunch of British and Irish creatives to make this classic American comic book hero come to life. Liam Neeson gives off BTE (Big "Taken" Energy) plus Michael Caine is MVP as Alfred. Oh, and Katie Holmes and Morgan Freeman hold up the American end. Your gravelly-voiced hosts (they wish) dive into it all, so enjoy!

Weeping Angels! So many Weeping Angels! Plus a psychic, a creepy kid, a village cut out of the planet and a proper stiff-upper-lip British paranormal investigator. Nat & Stu are joined by Greg Wah from the Smart Enough To Know Better podcast to deep dive into "The Cursed Village", a title we never actually mention, but that's fine, because there's a whole bunch of stuff we DO mention. There's lots of talk about where The Flux series might be heading too; as well as Greg and Stu dipping into the world of Cowboy Bebop right at the end. Enjoy!
Tue, November 16, 2021
We've reached the half way point of The Flux, and the extended story is all becoming clear! Jokes, there's some more characters introduced this time and a whole bunch of timestorm back story drama to keep your head spinning. Nevertheless, Nat & Stu are ready to dive in to discuss how the Doctor saves Yaz, Dan and Vinder from being sucked into... something? While simultaneously being dragged back into her own past to meet the Jo Doctor again and her first encounter with the "Ravagers". Also, this pod has a number of particularly good tangents, if we may be so bold. From devastating burns for Cybermen, to hot babies (context is important here), it's a chuckle-fest. Enjoy!
Sun, November 14, 2021
SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SERIOUSLY, SPOILERS! Do not listen unless you have seen the film! No Time To Die was finally released in Australia, and Nat & Stu took in the movie TOGETHER with a bunch of friends in a private screening (big ups to Greg Wah of the SE2KB podcast for organising!). Afterwards, they huddled in the corner of a carpark to get down on tape their initial impressions of the film and some MAJOR FUCKING SPOILERS YOU GUYS. Seriously, if you listen and get spoiled, IT IS ON YOU. Nat & Stu will be back at some point with a longer, deeper dive into this massive event in the Bond franchise.
Wed, November 10, 2021
It's War of the Sontarans time, which means a lengthy tribute to Mary Seacole from long-time fan Nat, while Stu politely listens. But there's other things to natter about too in this second instalment of "The Flux" series: the Sontarans' temporal war-waging; stupid British military generals; Dan running around Liverpool with a wok; Yaz and Vinder finding themselves trying to repair some offline high priestesses of time, or something. Our mysterious trio of baddies are back, as is everyone's favourite man without a dog because he IS the dog, Karvanista. Enjoy!
Mon, November 01, 2021
Weeping Angels! Sontarans! Dog creatures! Some weird creepy possibly incesty disco makeup twins! The Flux! It's all happening in the first episode of The Flux, Jodie Whittaker's last full season of Doctor Who. The Doctor and Yaz save a new likely companion in the shape of Liverpuddlian Dan, who turns out is VERY important to one special pooch. The Flux seems to be a ravenous planet-eating cloud machine heading towards Earth, while some ancient enemy of the Doctor's called "The Swarm" has freed himself from prison and rescued his very blue sister for some possible incest? So much to digest, and Nat and Stu are keen to get cracking! Also there's a Sontaran Tongue Thing, so enjoy that. Thanks for listening!
Fri, October 22, 2021
Natalie and Stu are joined by special guest Eloise to deep dive into the gaping maw that is 1997's Batman & Robin. George Clooney dons the Batsuit, but doesn't really seem to care; Chris O'Donnell is Captain Whines-a-lot; Alicia Silverstone turns up to be a winsome Batgirl while illegal street racing on the side; Uma Thurman camps it up as Poison Ivy and Michael Gough brings the acting chops as a dying Alfred (not that anyone seems to care). But the real star is Big Arnie as Mr Freeze, and his ice/snow/cold puns. It's a thing of beauty. Or at least, enough to help tank the Batman franchise for almost ten years. Enjoy!
Thu, October 07, 2021
Your friends Nat and Stu are *somewhat* excited about the first official teaser trailer for "House of the Dragon". And by *somewhat*, of course we mean *LOSING THEIR FRIGGING MINDS*. Listen as they go back to Raven On Classic Edition and chat all things HOTD, including jousts, swords, Hand of the King badges, and of course, an astonishing number of blonde wigs. Valar Morghulis!
Fri, October 01, 2021
It's time for Nat & Stu to tackle Val Kilmer's solo outing as the Caped Crusader, Batman Forever. Or, as special guest Nick calls it "The Gay One". Certainly it seems new director Joel Schumacher added something to the franchise beyond just the Bat Nipples and Bat Butt (a loving shot of Val Kilmer's taut buttocks in tight leather). This movie is a rollercoaster of convoluted or possibly non-existent plot, 60s campiness mixed with 90s angst, two incredibly hammy villains vying for priority, and Nicole Kidman with a bat fetish that Batman himself is totally awkward about. And yet... it still might be better than Batman Returns? Enjoy a deep dive into Batman Forever, citizens!
Tue, September 21, 2021
Nat & Stu return to the Raven Bat series with a look at 1993's animated film "Batman: The Mask of the Phantasm", one of Stu's personal favourites. Bruce Wayne is faced with his past in more than one way when a new masked vigilante arrives in town wreaking revenge. Also, the Joker is there. Your intrepid interlocutors mourn the inability to crack as many jokes as they'd like because the film is not only competent, but actually comprehensible!
Tue, September 07, 2021
So Batman Returns was the BEST 90s Batman, right? RIGHT? Nat & Stu get quite a shock as they revisit this classic from their childhood and realise it's WAAAAAAY hornier and messier than they remember. From Danny DeVito's unhinged Penguin with many plans but none of them good; to Michelle Pfeiffer's banging but batshit insane Catwoman, to Christopher.. Walken... doing what... he always... does, there's tons to enjoy in this episode. Also, Natalie takes you down memory lane with a wild story from her high school musical days involving a catsuit and a very inappropriate award. Hoorah!
Wed, August 25, 2021
Have you ever danced with some podcasters in the pale moonlight? Well, now you can, as Natalie, Stu and guest Scott Driscoll throw themselves into the weird twisted parade that is 1989's Batman. Stu takes us through the pop culture moment that this film created; while Nat gets into a shame spiral about Vicki Vale's alleged weight. Stu and Scott discuss why Batman is a great film, but not the best Batman film. NOTE: Natalie's audio is slightly muffled in the first half of this podcast, due to not realising she was being recorded on her AirPod microphone. Around half way through we had technical difficulties and lost Stu, so there is a sharp cut. However after that Natalie realised her mic situation and switched back to her proper mic and the audio is much better!

Holy tardy podcasters, Batman! Yes, after being teased for months, Raven Bat - the Raven On Batman-based sub-section - is finally here. Time to strap on the seatbelts in the Batmobile and jump into the screen exploits of the world's most popular brooding superhero. Nat & Stu kick off in the only acceptable manner - with the classic Adam West/Burt Ward 1966 masterpiece, "Batman". It's high camp and low budgets all the way, baby. Enjoy!
Mon, July 19, 2021
Nat & Stu team up for one final trip to the Citadel At The End of Time to confront the Big Bad - who actually seems to be the same dude they've been hinting at all season! Loki and Sylvie have a long conversation with "He Who Remains" about life, the universe and everything, before turning on each other about how best to deal with him. Meanwhile Mobius & Ravonna have it out, and Loki winds up in...GASP! A second season! There's some diversions along the way, of course, particularly about Natalie's hair, but that's par for the course at this stage. Enjoy!
Tue, July 13, 2021
This week Nat & Stu drag Dan from the Smart Enough to Know Better podcast down to their level as they have a romp about The Void in the penultimate episode of Loki. The team all agree it was a belter of an episode in terms of character, comedy and some fricking hilarious easter eggs (Thanos Copter!) Natalie comes up with what she thinks is a very clever prediction for whom the Big Bad might actually be; and tune in til the end to hear Dan and Stu absolutely ROAST Nat over her poor form in consuming classic cinema. You'll need hot sauce, it's so smokin'.
Wed, July 07, 2021
Nat & Stu are once again joined by guest Greg Wah from the Smart Enough to Know Better podcast to discuss an overabundance of pruning and self-passion in episode four of Loki. Has Loki found his true love in himself? Will we see Mobius on a jet ski eventually? How proud is Nat of herself being right about the TimeKeepers? And how giggly can Stu and Greg get about those surprise guests at the very end?! All this and more as we head into the final two eps of the series. Enjoy!
Wed, June 30, 2021
It's a villainous buddy adventure bottle episode this week, and Nat & Stu are joined by Greg from the Smart Enough to Know Better podcast to break it down. Loki has found himself - and herself, or maybe not? - on the doomed planet Lamentis-1. In a fit of irony nobody saw coming, Loki and Sylvie have 12 hours to recharge a TemPad and establish a shaky truce so they get off the rock before it's obliterated. There's lots of end of the world tropes, magic from Loki, small revelations from Sylvie and a cool one-take fight scene. Enjoy!
Tue, June 22, 2021
Things get a little bit SAUCY on this episode of Raven On Loki, which Stu describes as "surprisingly blue". He and Nat get into the Battalingus controversy rocking the comics world, 70s-era weird cartoon porn 'Fritz the Cat', the erotic sounds of cash registers and Sex and the City's pansexual foretelling. Somewhere in there they also discuss episode 2 of "Loki", which, you know, was pretty fun! Enjoy!
Tue, June 15, 2021
They're back, and they're low-key excited! Nat & Stu dive into the multiverse, or at least, multiverse-adjacent, in the first episode of the new Marvel Disney+ show "Loki". They discuss the Tom Hiddleston's wonderful acting despite his greasy hair, try their best Owen Wilson accents, and talk about the heavy-lifting this exposition dump episode does. Enjoy!
Tue, May 11, 2021
Good lord, it's finally here - the long overdue Falcon and the Winter Soldier season finale recap wrap-up! This podcast was recorded just days after the final episode of "The Wild Stallion and the Sexy Guy" dropped - but you can blame Natalie's stupid face and busy schedule for not getting the edit finished on time! Nat & Stu wrap up the final episode, it's good points and flaws, starting of course with the tremendous debut of Sam Wilson as Captain America. There's also a sidebar into "House of the Dragon" territory, because goddamn if Nat isn't going to try to recap former glories if at all possible. Enjoy!
Wed, April 21, 2021
They're back, and they're... OK? about the penultimate episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (aka Wild Stallion and the Sexy Guy). Both Nat & Stu are sad at what seems to be Zemo's departure from the series, but excited about the potential for Sam to realise the role of Cap from next week. There's an interesting chat about Marvel trying to have its cake and eat it too when it comes to thorny issues of race and the Captain America "brand", a lot of boat fixing and montage talk, as well as a breakdown on *that* cameo appearance. Also don't be distracted by the early sidebar discussion on Dragonball Z, Nat & Stu just needed to get that out of their system.
Wed, April 14, 2021
There's gonna be CAPsequences, baby, because John Walker did a Bad Thing and also Natalie is trying to invent a new word. That's right, it's time for another Wild Stallion and the Sexy Guy instalment, with Stuart Layt riding shotgun to discuss John Walker's move into superserum territory, the arrival of the Wakandans, Zemo remaining awesome and Sharon really probably is the Power Broker. There's a brief detour where the show because the SWOLEcast due to Natalie's recent gym adventures; and there's also a bittersweet Game of Thrones moment, so enjoy!
Tue, April 06, 2021
It's time for TEAM ZEMO, baby! The debut of the dishy Daniel Bruhl in ep3 of FAWS dominates the discussions between hosts Nat & Stu this weekend, and with good reason - he is incredibly awesome. Stu argues that the split second cut of him dancing in Madripoor is probably in the Top Five MCU moments. There's lengthy chats about how Zemo can walk out of a prison sentence straight back into the criminal underworld, Sharon Carter's role in the MCU and the confusing purpose of the Flag Smashers, as well as diversions into satisfying YouTube channel Boats Over Haulover and the impending Game of Thrones stage show. I mean I guess we talk about Falcon and the Winter Soldier too, but hey, didn't you hear? BARON ZEMO! Enjoy!
Wed, March 31, 2021
The chocolate-voiced mountain god that is Stuart Layt may be a touch croaky this week, but nothing will stop him and Natalie getting their Wild Stallion and the Sexy Guy chat on! This week, our two beautiful heroes share the screen for the first time; parachuting into Germany for a mission that reveals the presence of super soldiers; then grappling with demons big and small, including Bucky's resentment at Falcon for giving up the shield, and Falcon's resentment at not being told about a Black Captain America hero from the 50s. Also the new Cap starts kind of interestingly introspective and then gets real cocky, which Natalie believes is all due to meth.
Wed, March 24, 2021
Welcome one and all to the debut Raven On podcast for "Wild Stallion and The Sexy Guy"! Yes, it's Marvel's second MCU-set TV show, which Natalie misnamed in a WandaVision ep a few weeks' back. But she's back with trusty co-host Stu to delve into what's been happening with Sam and Bucky as they negotiate life post-Blip. Key takeaways from this episode include whether or not you can smash a flag, why don't superheroes get paid, and Natalie's brand new comedy character "Old Man Cap". All this, and more. Enjoy!
Fri, March 12, 2021
Stu is back, fighting fit, and ready to get into the nitty-gritty of the WandaVision season finale. The pair discuss the pressure that was put on this series after Covid bumped it up to be first on the Marvel Stage 4 slate, and how that didn't necessarily match the relatively simple tale of grief it was trying to tell. But there's also some disappointments, such as the lack of consequences for Wanda for, you know, mind-controlling a town. There's also a 10-15 minute diversionary conversation about superhero costumes, with Superman's red pants featuring heavily. And finally, would you believe it, somebody actually CALLS IN TO THE PODCAST! Enjoy!
Wed, March 03, 2021
Oh no! She's recast Stu! With poor Stu out with illness, Natalie has recruited Greg Wah from the "Smart Enough To Know Better" podcast to examine the penultimate episode of WandaVision. As Agatha takes Wanda on a flashback "tour of sadness", there's much to dissect including how and when Wanda had witchy powers, their boosting by Loki's mindstone, and Wanda's grief powering the whole hex and the re-creation of Vision. Also Natalie comes up with an idea for the much-flagged and mysterious cameo expected in the finale - and if it comes off, she demands immediate recognition as a genius. Enjoy!
Tue, February 23, 2021
Nat & Stu crack on with the gleeful and delightfully witchy reveal that ends this episode, and the implications it has for the remainder of the series. After Pietro and now Agatha, are there more reveals to come? Your pontificating pair of co-hosts then delve into the Modern Family/The Office-style theming of this sitcom episode, complete with talking heads on camera; Darcy and Vision's cute MCU recap and the POWERING UP of Monica Rambeau. Enjoy!
Wed, February 17, 2021
It's Halloween in WestView, and time for Wanda, Vision and Pietro to don their cheesiest costumes to celebrate. Join Nat & Stu as they dive into the spooktacular tribute to "Malcolm in the Middle", complete with boys talking to camera even as they discover their powers, and Unky Pietro trying to work out what's happening with Wanda. There's also a small Joss Whedon sidebar in which Natalie rejoices in being on Team Xena all these years, and Stu once again laments the loss of his childhood heroes.
Mon, February 08, 2021
WOW! What an ending! So much changed in just a few seconds! Except Natalie has no idea why that is, so it's up to Walking Wiki Stu to fill in the gaps on why this episode of WandaVision has big ramifications for the show itself AND the MCU. Your hosts are face to face this week, and get very excited about the gaps being filled in Wanda's story, and to a lesser extent, Vision's head. Enjoy!
Tue, February 02, 2021
It's a big episode 4 as WandaVision starts to let us in on the secrets behind the retro sitcom love-fest. Nat & Stu delve into the backstory of Monica Rambeau (pronounced "Rambo" apparently), as well as talk through the super cute FBI agent Jimmy Woo, whose surname Natalie mispells (she didn't realise at the time). Plus there's some meta Full House chat. Also a massive shout out to Natalie's Patreon supporters, just because they're awesome and Natalie failed to vocally mention this in the podcast due to tiredness.
Mon, January 25, 2021
Nat & Stu are back with the third instalment of "WandaVision", aka the super speedy baby delivery 1970s homage! Be warned, there's a bit of an intense discussion of childbirth straight up, so maybe skip eating while you're listening. But then there's a fun chat about the increasing kookiness of Wanda's powers and the show's use of metaphor and real world elements. Enjoy!
Mon, January 18, 2021
Get ready for some retro superhero fun, as your favourite (wow, big claim there) podcasters are back with a look at the first two episodes of Marvel's "WandaVision". Nat & Stu wax lyrical about the glorious pastiches of 50s and 60s sitcoms, while trying to figure out what darker mysteries lie beneath.
Tue, January 05, 2021
Happy 2021, everybody! Finally, 2020 is over and we can start afresh and positive... oh wait, there's a Doctor Who festive special to dissect. Dan & Greg from the Smart Enough to Know Better podcast join Nat & Stu to forensically examine "Revolution of the Daleks", which compared to some previous episodes of this era, is... fine. Except when you start to get into it. Then things get VERY. SHOUTY. Enjoy almost two hours of geeking out, if that's your thing!
Tue, December 01, 2020
The James Bond Retrospective comes to a climax (for now) as Nat & Stu grab some notebooks and compile a bunch of "Best of" lists from the 25 films they've watched in this, the year of Covid-19. The pair also take the opportunity to list some magic moments from the movies, as well as some less than ideal ones. Also, they bag out Spectre again because, seriously, what was WITH that whole thing? Thank you so much for listening to this series - stay tuned as next on the line-up for Nat & Stu is "Raven Bat".
Mon, November 09, 2020
The writing's on the wall for Nat & Stu as they finally rewatch and review "Spectre", the 24th Eon Bond film and one that Nat has not seen since loathing it in the cinema in 2015. Is it better than she remembers? Did she just dream up that whole "Blofeld is Bond's weird stepbrother" angle? No? Well, then, you can probably expect some ranting. Stu has some good points to make too, often more coherent and sensible than Natalie's. Plus there's a fair bit of comparison (and not in a great way) to the BBC Sherlock series, so please keep your complaints nice. :P This is the final official Raven Bond podcast until "No Time To Die", but don't worry, Nat & Stu Will Return!
Tue, November 03, 2020
Ahead of their Spectre podcast, Nat & Stu got together to talk about the death of Sean Connery. This includes a discussion of Connery's misogynistic behaviour and comments about women, and how social media responds to celebrity deaths and so-called "problematic faves". Also there's a great yarn about Connery calling out director Brett Ratner for being a fraud. You can also read Natalie's reflections on Connery's life and work on her website: www.nataliebochenski.com Thanks for listening!
Wed, October 28, 2020
Let the SKY FAAAAAALLLLLL as Adele's rounded tones welcome us to the 50th year of Bond onscreen and the 23rd Bond film, Skyfall. Nat & Stu are joined by Brisbane journalist and fellow Bond tragic Alison Sandy to pick over the now old & busted bones of Britain's premier secret agent, who apparently is nearing the scrapheap despite only just getting his Double-O status. The trio get down and dirty with Xavier Bardem's flamboyant villain Raoul Silva, discuss M as the ultimate Bond girl, and Natalie gets REALLY ANGRY about the whole "let's keep Moneypenny's identity a secret and then reveal it at the very end in an incredibly clunky way" thing. And fair enough too, because it's VERY FRUSTRATING. Enjoy!
Mon, October 19, 2020
For the first time in Bond history - a sequel! Nat and Stu are joined once more by the encyclopedic brain of Tom Salinsky (from Best Pick Pod) to discuss Daniel Craig's second outing as the super spy. And it's a strange beast, with lots of super fast choppy editing, weirdly underwritten characters (especially the women) and plot threads left dangling in the breeze like so many unfurled-until-the-last-possible-second parachutes. But as Tom tells us, writing cohesive scripts is hard, and QoS has much to teach us about having strong narrative vision. Also Natalie's mad there aren't enough sex scenes, so it's classy talk all the way. Enjoy!
Sun, October 11, 2020
You know his name... it's Daniel Craig! The first truly 21st century Bond, whose concept of the character harks back to the original Fleming novels. Nat & Stu are joined by Greg Wah from the Smart Enough to Know Better podcast to talk all things Craig, his blue eyes, THAT swimsuit scene, his rookie dangerous "win at all costs" attitude, his mad poker skills, and how this movie subtly creates the Bond we know as it progresses. Also - there's probably too much chat about Eva Green and not enough about Mads Mikkelsen, but just the right amount of talk about thrashing testicles. Enjoy!
Sat, September 26, 2020
Madonna urges Sigmund Freud to "analyse this" in her theme song to Die Another Day, but surely even the cocaine-crazed Austrian shrink would have trouble deciphering this one. Yes, it's the 20th Eon Bond film that also marked the series' 40th anniversary on screens, AND has the legacy of near-ruining Pierce Brosnan's reputation as Bond. Nat & Stu are joined once more by guest Nick Wiggins to chat about the initial promise of this film, let down by poor directing choices, lacklustre casting, some terrible writing and dodgy AF CGI. There's a LOT to discuss. Enjoy!
Tue, September 22, 2020
A fresh trailer for No Time To Die dropped last week, just in time for Natalie & Stu - plus returning pod guest Nick Wiggins - to have a chinwag about its contents, and mutter about what we could expect from Daniel Craig's last outing as the superspy. Please enjoy this mini-episode while Natalie continues to beaver away on the main Die Another Day podcast edit! She's totally on top of it, we swear!
Mon, September 14, 2020
Tonight we're going to podcast like it's 1999, because it's time for The World Is Not Enough! Your Millenium bug-infested hosts are ready to let loose with all their opinions on Pierce Brosnan's third Bond outing, including: the extended pre-credit sequence with Thames boat chase; M16's Scottish base; the last appearance of Desmond Llewelyn as Q and the first of John Cleese; the bait-and-switch villain plot; Renard's bullet-powered invulnerability and poor Denise Richards. Also, exactly what did Natalie learn from her brush-with-fame encounter with Shirley Manson at a dodgy Brisbane music festival circa 2004? Enjoy!
Thu, September 03, 2020
Nat & Stu are right at home this week with Tomorrow Never Dies, aka the "media & journalism" Bond movie. Your scrappy hacks revel in the original drama llama Eliot Carver, Jonathan Pryce's OTT to the extreme megalomaniacal news baron, as well as Bond's remote control car, a handcuffed bike ride with the indomitable Michelle Yeoh, and a STEALTH BOAT. Be prepared for some sidenotes on nerdy schoolies experiences, nerdy journalism election-covering experiences, and a few references to that other boat-related 1997 film. Enjoy!
Wed, August 26, 2020
We're into the Nineties now people, so hold onto your Tamagotchis and Spice Girls and Windows '95 operating systems because Nat & Stu are spooling up GoldenEye and setting it to stun. Bond buff Tom Salinsky rejoins the virtual chatter couch for a deep dive on a rejuvenated, post Cold War 007 franchise, complete with Sean Bean, a tank chase, and a hot lady with killer thighs, and we're not just talking about Dame Judi Dench. Enjoy!
Tue, August 18, 2020
Oh, Timothy Dalton, did you have to leave us so soon? No sooner had we established a thirst, but you turn off the water mains forever. Yes, it's time for Nat & Stu to discuss Licence to Kill, Dalton's second and final Bond outing, which scratches Stu's 80s action movie itch so hard it may as well be a rash. Bond's revenge story, in which he goes up against South American drug baron Sanchez, is full of over the top stunts, feminist babes, bricks of cocaine and dollar dollar bills. And sharks. Your intrepid hosts take some tangential detours into jigsaw puzzles and 90s movies, and Natalie misses an extremely obvious pun.
Wed, August 12, 2020
Natalie has got the vapours and Stu has to bring the smelling salts for this one, because we're into the Dalton era. Yes, finally understanding what her mother has been saying all these years, Natalie finds herself deeply into the D. Special guest Chris Spensley joins Nat & Stu to discuss Timothy Dalton's Bond debut, which features a darker shift in tone, plus a surprisingly romantic relationship with leading lady Kara Milovy. Enjoy!
Tue, August 04, 2020
Nat & Stu are joined by guest Scott Driscoll to dive into Roger Moore's final outing as 007, A View to a Kill. It's a puzzling film, with good ingredients such as Christopher Walken, Grace Jones, and that banging Duran Duran theme, but still ends up a bit... soggy... thanks to a confusing plot featuring horse racing, Nazi experiments and microchips. Enjoy!
Fri, July 31, 2020
In this bonus mini-episode, Natalie reveals to Stu that the fight co-ordinator on "Never Say Never Again" was none other than Steven Seagal. That prompts a merry wend through the now-faded action star's bulky filmography. That's literally it. It's just Seagal Talk. Don't say we didn't warn you.
Tue, July 28, 2020
Never say we don't do anything for you! Ahhh, you see what we did there. Yes, Nat & Stu have taken a sharp detour to put Sean Connery's non-canonical return film "Never Say Never Again" through its deeply weird paces. How does it stand up next to Octopussy, the other film of the Year of Two Bonds? Your delightful pair get excited about the fabulous Fatima Blush (or is that Bush?), detour into psychic encounters for... reasons, and talk all things hairpieces and colonics, which feature far more in this film than you might remember. Enjoy!
Sat, July 25, 2020
We mentioned in the main Octopussy podcast that Phoebe Waller-Bridge, creator of Fleabag, had been brought in to do a script punch-up on No Time To Die. Well, did you know that our very special guest co-host, Tom Salinsky, was there at the very beginning of the Fleabag story?! Check out this mini-pod bonus to hear all about it, plus a few of Tom's other Bond connections.
Tue, July 21, 2020
Nat & Stu are back and have brought special international corresBondent Tom Salinsky with them for a deep dive into Octopussy, oo-er. The 1983 film saw the return of Roger Moore to ensure a good turnout against the long-touted Kevin McClory Thunderball remake "Never Say Never Again", which was also released the same year. It's full of exotic locales, daring action sequences and terrible jokes. There's also an over-abundance of villains with Octopussy, Kamahl Khan and General Orlov all in the OTT mix. Oh yeah, and Bond is in clown makeup, which Tom believes he can defend. Lots to discuss in this episode, so enjoy!
Wed, July 15, 2020
Wait a second, this isn't James Bond! Well-spotted, keen-eyed detectives - this is in fact a "filler" podcast, recorded to give Natalie a chance to catch up on her James Bond writing and editing. Thank you for your patience! Nat & Stu are joined by guests Dan Beeston and Tom Salinsky for a VERY deep dive into 2005 film The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and the broader Hitchhiker's universe. There's also side tangents involving Hamilton, Monty Python, and Natalie's Dad's new Netflix obsession. Enjoy!
Tue, July 07, 2020
Welcome to the Eighties, the decade that brought you your hosts, Nat & Stu! Bond comes back down to Earth in "For Your Eyes Only", investigating a plot to hijack a British missile tracking system and sell it off to the Soviets. There's more ski chasing, the two-faced villain Kristatos, the heart-of-gold smuggler Columbo, a smart and deadly Bond girl in the form of avenging Greek/British goddess Melina Havelock, and a deeply unsettling B-plot featuring a teenage girl's sudden and intense desire to jump a 007 old enough to be her father. For Your Eyes Only has risen in appreciation over the years, but is it enough to convince Nat & Stu to give it a good ranking? Enjoy!
Sun, July 05, 2020
What do you mean, Nat & Stu diverged into Disney discussions when they should have been talking about For Your Eyes Only? With their reputation? Well yes, it was bound to happen. Excised for time, here's what happened when Natalie went off on the Disney films she hasn't seen, which turned into a dissection of the Aladdin stage musical, and finally Hamilton. This was recorded a couple of days before the filmed stage production of Hamilton dropped on Disney on July 3. It's worth a watch while you wait for the main For Your Eyes Only pod (a shabby attempt to equate ourselves with the greatness of Lin-Manual Miranda).
Mon, June 29, 2020
Oh, so you think Star Wars is good? Well, did it have any actual sexy times in space? No? Not even one space sex pun? Then clearly the Bond franchise made a good choice in sending its superspy up above the stratosphere. Nat & Stu are joined by special guest Eloise Dundas-Taylor to discuss Moonraker, the most expensive and expansive 007 film to date - even if there are rather a lot of similarities to The Spy Who Loved Me. From gondola hovercrafts, to a batshit plan to create a master race in outer space, to the return of Jaws, your three analysts have it covered. Enjoy!
Fri, June 26, 2020
Would you believe Nat & Stu spoke for three hours about The Spy Who Loved Me? You would? Yeah, it checks out. Anyhoo, here's an extra bit of content about the film that was cut for time, in which Natalie goes through the copious notes she took while watching one of her fave Bond films.
Tue, June 23, 2020
Things get raunchy as Nat & Stu dive deep into one of the best films of the Bond franchise, with Natalie discovering hitherto unknown levels of thirst for Roger Moore's Bond. 2020 is bringing up all sorts of surprises. Your intrepid culture vultures pick over the delicious meat that is The Spy Who Loved Me, including the amazing Triple X, the gloriously ridiculous lair of creepy fish-man Stromberg, the fantastic Lotus Esprit (underwater model), and the mighty menace that is Jaws. The film was so much fun to discuss, a lengthy bit has been chopped out to form a follow up podcast, so keep your eyes out. Enjoy!
Mon, June 15, 2020
Roger Moore's round two is routinely rubbished - but what say Nat & Stu? Can the presence of Dracula and Saruman himself, Christopher Lee, raise the bar? What are the optics and/or politics of having a little person as a henchman? Are the women underserved by the script, or is it just bad acting? Did this film tank solar energy in the popular mind? And how good is that kung fu fight scene? These and many more discussion points are raised in this super-flared edition of Raven Bond. Enjoy!
Sun, June 14, 2020
Why IS Natalie so obsessed with James Bond? That's what guest host Dan Beeston wanted to know during the Live and Let Die podcast. For time purposes, we excised it from the main pod, but here it is as bonus content. Enjoy!
Mon, June 08, 2020
Nat & Stu don their flared safari suits to welcome Roger Moore to the role of James Bond in 1973's Live and Let Die. The pair is joined by Dan Beeston from the Smart Enough to Know Better podcast to talk about the first Bond film that had a predominantly African-American cast, but also a heavy tread into blaxsploitation territory. Along the way, Solitaire has a problematic love scene, Bond has a lengthy boat chase, Kananga explodes in several ways, and Bondfind out what it's like to wear Crocs. Enjoy!
Tue, June 02, 2020
Sean Connery returns for his final canonical appearance as 007 in the first Bond film of the 1970s, and it's a diamond-encrusted doozy. There's Plenty O'Toole-ing about with Nat & Stu as they chat about why Connery came back, the numerous memorable set pieces, the somewhat problematic henchmen Mr Wint & Mr Kidd, and Tiffany Case's tiny pants. Natalie also invents the term "Flying Gusset", so that's a thing. Enjoy!
Sun, May 31, 2020
Holy podcast filler, Batman! It's Nat and Stu, the caped crusaders of pop culture communications! Yes, because they rambled on waaaay too long about Diamonds Are Forever, Nat has excised two chunks of chat in which she and Stu randomly decide to do a Batman podcast after James Bond; and also talk about the infamous "Snyder Cut" of Justice League. There's also a concluding anecdote about going to see Heaven's Gate which is thankfully much shorter than that notorious flop film. This won't be in the full DAF podcast, but it still somewhat fun, if you like Batman and that sort of thing. Enjoy!
Mon, May 25, 2020
By George (Lazenby), it's a new James Bond! Nat & Stu are joined by journalist and film buff Nick Wiggins to discuss the strange parcel that is 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service. There's the marvellous Diana Rigg, the enigmatic Telly Savalas, the brazen editing and special effects - and of course, the Boy from Queanbeyan himself in his only Bond outing. Enjoy!
Tue, May 19, 2020
It's time for James Bond to make like 1980's one-hit wonders The Vapors - he's "Turning Japanese". Yes, your hosts Nat & Stu, two very white people, grapple with the incredibly uncomfortable plot twist of You Only Live Twice that sees 007 disguised as a Japanese man. Natalie tries to find explanations in the differences between the book and film, while Stu is mostly horrified. There's also a bunch of fun stuff in this movie, including the first appearance of Ernst Stavro Blofeld and his massive volcano lair, Little Nellie the gyrocopter, and a ninja training school. Enjoy!
Mon, May 18, 2020
Once again, Nat & Stu are recording long podcasts for the James Bond retrospective, which means some necessary cutting. But this was a fun 10 minutes which we thought it worth sharing as its own little teaser. A discussion of the depiction of Bond's two Japanese female leads as relatively "innocent" (which will be in the main podcast), Natalie started reminiscing about Beyonce's casting in Goldmember, which leads her and Stu down a rabbit hole in which they discover Billie Eilish's new theme for No Time To Die has actually been released, and somehow they missed it. So they listen to it, and react accordingly. Plus there's some Shirley Bassey in there for good measure. Enjoy!
Mon, May 11, 2020
Nat & Stu bring the thunder this week to discuss the fourth film in the franchise and it's "biggest" to date (certainly in terms of length), Thunderball. With Natalie still emotionally bonded to this movie, it's up to Stu to explain just how overly long and in need of an edit it is. There's some wibbley-wobbley-timey-wimey stuff happening as well, despite Bond most definitely being on the clock to retrieve two stolen nuclear weapons. Still, there's a lot of fun with SPECTRE, some very beautiful ladies, some very blatant sexual harassment, and Stu's delight in discovering the jetpack in the pre-credit sequence was in fact real. Also, at 46.20 mark you may just hear Natalie's best-ever quip. She's certainly proud of it. Enjoy!
Mon, May 04, 2020
GOLD-FINGER! Admit it, you just did the "bwap bwaaa-bwaaa"s in your head. You can't HELP it when it comes to Shirley Bassey's first Bond theme and one of the all-time great Bond movies. Join Nat and Stu as they deep dive into the third film instalment of the 007 series and the way it established so much of what we consider "Bond" DNA. Also, more talk about James Bond's magical penis as it pertains to the lesbianism of Pussy Galore; plus Natalie has a weird theory about Auric Goldfinger's sexual fetish. Enjoy!
Sun, May 03, 2020
A tasty little morsel from the upcoming Goldfinger Raven Bond podcast that will be excised because the rest of the damn thing is LONG! Nat got predictably distracted when pointing out that Felix Leiter is seen waiting outside a Kentucky Fried Chicken while surveilling Bond. This podcast is in no way sponsored by KFC but WE WELCOME IT DEAL LORD GIVE US ALL THE CHICKEN
Mon, April 27, 2020
Grab your tear gas canister briefcase, strap on your shoes with the poisoned pointy spikes, and get cracking with Nat & Stu on the cracker film that is "From Russia With Love". Bond is in Istanbul getting lured into love for a Lektor, ably assisted by the brilliant M16 station head Ali Kerim Bey, and pursued by the evil Rosa Klebb and her assassin Red Grant. There's also talk of the stunning Tatiana Romanova's agency thrown in, plus more highly non-topical Torvill & Dean references than you would expect in a Bond podcast.
Mon, April 20, 2020
Welcome to Raven Bond, the James Bond-themed offshoot of the Raven On pop culture podcast! Nat & Stu are turning their eyes to the longest-running film franchise, and Natalie's personal favourite. The pair start, as linear time requires, with the 1962 big screen debut of 007 - Dr No. It's a spy movie until it becomes a Bond movie, and your sly hosts wriggle their way from one genre to the other, by way of some excellent action shots, the immortal white belted bikini, some top notch villainry and a pair of incredibly high-waisted pants. Enjoy!
Thu, April 09, 2020
Yes, you cool cats and kittens, it's time for Nat and Stu to take on the behemoth that is "Tiger King"! Join your favourite (?) podcasters as they grapple with the world of Joe Exotic, the characters at the Wynnewood Zoo and beyond, and of course the large predatory cat in the room - did Carole Baskin really feed her husband to the tigers? Thanks so much for listening!
Wed, March 18, 2020
Well, looks like the shoddy Doctor Who season wasn't "literally the worst" after all. With the COVID-19 outbreak escalating, Natalie forced Stu to join her via Skype for a random podcast on all things viral. The pair try to establish a new normal - but they're also keen to hear your ideas about other stuff they could podcast about to pass the time. Warning: may contain Natalie ranting about support needed for the arts sector (and her cat rescue). Enjoy!
Thu, March 05, 2020
Strap yourselves in, because this is a long one! Nat & Stu are joined by Dan from the Smart Enough to Know Better podcast to talk all things Doctor Who season finale. There's a lot to digest about "The Timeless Children", much of which gets stuck halfway down the small intestine. Your intrepid hosts gallantly play the role of pop culture psyllium husk in the hope this too shall pass. Enjoy!
Wed, February 26, 2020
Nat & Stu are back, with Nat uncomfortably keen to update everybody on her health, leading to a wild Inception-style tangent stack into June Dally-Watkins, 90s-era deportment courses and egregious hormone use on teenage girls. Eventually they crack open this week's Doctor Who episode, which starts with the Doctor conveniently parking the TARDIS far enough away to allow PLOT to occur. Nat & Stu still aren't entirely sure of what the Lone Cyberman's plans/goals are, but admit they're mostly enjoying trying to figure it out. The most fun is had discussing the "Brendan" flashback subplot, which very much proves writer Chris Chibnall has a *thing* for throwing young men off cliffs. We're just sayin.' Thanks for listening, and enjoy!
Mon, February 24, 2020
Natalie has not been well, which accounts for the first ten minutes of this episode describing symptoms to her long-suffering co-host Stu that were probably not necessary. But still, it hopefully sets the scene for the spookiness of the Doctor's trip back to Lake Geneva circa 1816, in which Frankenstein may or may not be written, and Mary or Percy Shelley may be the most important person in history. There's Lone Cyberman talk, joy at the Doctor having to make tough (house) calls, and predictions for the final two-parter. Also Stu keeps Nat up to date with what's happening in pop culture due to her utter inability to keep up with the kids. Enjoy!
Tue, February 11, 2020
Nat is back in Brisbane but suffering from serious gym-related physical pain, so is back on Skype with Stu for "Can You Hear Me?". There's a general feeling that this was a mixed bag, with some cool spooky concepts (such as Kevan Lannister's immortal fingering) but a slightly odd take on mental health, conflicting fears and nightmares. There was also a HYPER WEIRD scene between Graham and The Doctor, feeding the theory that 13 is a sociopath. Enjoy!
Thu, February 06, 2020
Natalie's been roller skating and crashed on her head, which might explain another long episode of Who's Raven On. However, she and co-host extraordinaire Stu also discover there's way more crap in this episode than you initially think on first viewing. So there's a lot of pointing out the messy joins in "Praxeus". There's also a TON of radio in-jokes that will be really funny to maybe three people. Greg from the Smart Enough to Know Better podcast also joins in the fun; plus Stu brings a lot more pop culture news and views to the table, including Star Trek: Picard; Marvel and Witcher.
Thu, January 30, 2020
Hells bells, wasn't that just the darnedest good episode of Doctor Who in a long time?! Nat & Stu are back to swoon over the platoon of Judoon near a lagoon (or canal); not to mention all the other VERY EXCITING REVEALS in this episode. They're so focused, they even forget to do lengthy sidebars about other topics. That's how thrilling this episode was! Enjoy.
Fri, January 24, 2020
Saddle up for another deep dive, as Nat & Stu connect via Skype to chat all things Nikola Tesla. Turns out this episode was... fun? A nice change from last week. Electricity and scavenging scorpion creatures make for a good time. Greg from the "Smart Enough to Know Better" podcast also weighs in; plus there's a bunch of other pop culture news, including the return of Captain Picard and the somewhat questionable first images from "The Watch", the adaptation of Terry Pratchett's classic Discworld novels. Tune in and drop out, y'all!
Sun, January 19, 2020
Natalie and Stu catch up via Skype to talk about the general disappointment that was "Orphan 55", the third episode of this season of Doctor Who. Disappointment is one word - "giant unholy and rather preachy mess" are several more. Greg from the Smart Enough to Know Better podcast even chimes in to express his A n G e R Y feelings about this relaxing-spa-trip-gone-wrong-oh-wait-it-turns-out-it-was-man sermon of a show. Apologies for the tardiness ("Tardis-ness"?!?) of this upload - Natalie has been in Perth getting a show up and running. Check out www.actreact.com.au if you want to see what she's up to!
Wed, January 08, 2020
Greetings! Nat & Stu were able to do a Skype hook-up to discuss the second part of the Doctor Who adventure "Spyfall". They discuss the rollicking adventurous nature of it, complete with historical badass ladies and just plain bad old Nazis. They also check in with Dan and get his written suggestions on the episode after his tirade last time. And they put the call out for fans to "call in" (or, you know, leave a comment), on what you reckon "The Timeless Child" is, was, means, represents, etc. Enjoy!
Sun, January 05, 2020
Welcome to the first podcast of 2020! Another year of what Natalie calls "friendship" but what Stu might call "getting press-ganged into indulging more of Nat's rambling opinions on things she is mostly unqualified to comment upon"! This time, Dan from the "Smart Enough to Know Better" podcast joins Nat & Stu to discuss "Spyfall Part 1", the New Year's Day episode of Doctor Who, which turns out to be the start of the latest season. Lots of chats about spies, Stephen Fry, and that "O" guy. Enjoy!
Sun, December 29, 2019
It's the last Raven On podcast for 2019! Natalie & Stu are joined by Greg from the "Smart Enough to Know Better" podcast to recap the final episode of season one of "His Dark Materials", before launching into a discussion of all things "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker". As an aside, the title "Garbage" is inspired by Natalie's Dad, who accidentally calls in to the podcast just moments after it gets underway. According to Marcus, most everything is garbage, especially that whole Star Wars business. Thanks to all listeners who've stuck with us during our final Game of Thrones podcasts this year (including our live audiences!), and for going with us as we experiment with other shows. See you in 2020!
Thu, December 19, 2019
Nat attempts to surprise Stu with a belated birthday cake, and accidentally creates the new broadcast format "cake-casting". The subsequent sugar rush allows the chatty pair to rave on for nearly three hours, but that's OK, because at least they're not out on the streets causing trouble. Chill out and enjoy many thoughts on the penultimate episode of His Dark Materials, including the BEAR FIGHT, before a deep velvety dive into the final episode of Watchmen, including eggs, dong placement, fancy pants and even trivial things like the nature of time and contextual links in pop culture. Or something. Enjoy!
Thu, December 12, 2019
Look, Baby Yoda is only tangentially mentioned in this podcast, but the name just stuck. That's right, Nat & Stu are back in the same room and raring to go HARD on Ep 6 of "His Dark Materials" and Ep 8 of "Watchmen". Strap yourselves in for an epic run-time, because there's a lot to talk about. There are problematic daemons, Mrs Coulter back walking the corridors and the destruction of Bolvangar in HDM, while Angela and Dr Manhattan's love story gets the wibbley-wobbley timey-wimey treatment in Watchmen. Lots of tangents along the way of course, plus a bunch of pop culture catching-up on topics such as James Bond, Wonder Woman, Doctor Who, and Disney Plus (hence Baby Yoda). Enjoy!
Sun, December 08, 2019
It's a particularly spell-binding episode, as Natalie had just seen the first instalment of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" play before catching up with Stu via Skype. Natalie's increasing exhaustion means this is the shortest episode to date, clocking in at just over an hour. What?! Still, the pair manage to shoot the breeze over Episode 5 of "His Dark Materials", which Natalie found more entertaining than Stu, mostly because the Panserbjorne lost the Panser to go exploring with Lyra. The pair then get cracking on Episode 7 of "Watchmen", which featured more twists and turns than a licorice rope in a Gravitron. Also: farting, courtesy of Adrian Veidt. Enjoy!
Sun, December 01, 2019
Nat & Stu are back on Skype this episode, given Natalie has been running around Nakatomi Plaza as part of "Die Hard: The Movie, The Play" and could only podcast very late at night. It's another long episode as your daring duo discuss two great episodes of TV - Episode 4 of "His Dark Materials" and Episode 6 of "Watchmen". There's armoured bears and aleithiometers galore, plus the exquisitely told origin story of Will Reeves/Hooded Justice. Plus a tangent in which your heroic hosts grapple with the merciless march of time. Enjoy!
Sun, November 24, 2019
This week, Nat & Stu drag special guest - Greg, from the Smart Enough to Know Better podcast - down to their level, as they get stuck into His Dark Materials Episode 3 and Watchmen Episode 5. There's all manner of tangents about fantasy, and space, plus a lot of respect for the synchronicity of the joke "squid pro quo". Enjoy another lengthy chin-wag around the microphone!
Sun, November 17, 2019
It's a cross-city chat as Nat & Stu Skype the latest Raven Dong/Daemon On episode. This girthy instalment covers Episode 2 of His Dark Materials, which features Ruth Wilson walking down a series of corridors, and Lyra essentially trapped in a golden cage like some sort of metaphor. Your intrepid interlocutors then turn their attention to Episode 4 of Watchmen, which featured more batshit crazy stuff such as Jeremy Irons in jodhpurs pulling swamp clone babies out of crab pots, and Stu's new favourite (and practical!) superhero, "Lube Man". Strap yourselves in!
Sun, November 10, 2019
Nat & Stu reunite to yabber on about not one, but TWO, new series. First up it's His Dark Materials, the BBC/HBO production of Phillip Pullman's popular young adult series. There's a lot of discussion about what a "Daemon" is, and whether or not it needs to poop, along with how to do exposition in a fantasy series. Please note! Natalie has read the books, and while she has forgotten most of it, is trying very hard not to reveal any possible book spoilers. The BBD of the title stands for "Big Blue Dong", because hooooo boy there's a lot of wang talk this episode when it comes to Watchmen. Stu confesses his instant, undying love for Laurie Blake, FBI vigilante buster extraordinaire, and there's speculation about where exactly Jeremy Irons IS. Once again, spoilers for both the book and TV series. It's another big listen, but we hope you enjoy it. Or not, if you're a masochist. :P
Sat, November 02, 2019
It's been more than FIVE MONTHS since Nat & Stu have seen each other, which means a catch-up podcast is LONG OVERDUE. Strap yourselves in though, this is a long one. But you've got pause and stop buttons, and you're sensible humans, you can listen in whatever fashion you like. There's about half an hour of general chit-chat, including tales of Natalie's theatrical adventures around the globe. Examining the end of Game of Thrones, the highs and lows, as well as what's happening with the sequel/prequel series takes up the bulk of the middle. Nat & Stu then delve into the new "Watchmen" series, discussing the first two episodes. There are plenty of tangents, of course, and Natalie asks that you forgive her potential self-indulgent pretentiousness. Stu is, as always, a perfect podcaster in every way. Oh, and the explanation for "abnomaly" comes in around the 15.30 minute mark, in case you're interested.

A special LIVE performance of the GoT theme kicks off the final Raven On Live podcast, marking the final episode of the best TV show ever. Wendy Lang and Zannah(@wendylangmusic & @zannahmusic on Insta)return later in the episode to debut Zannah's new song "Bones Lay Still", a beautiful GoT-inspired piece that we were privileged to enjoy. Yes, this is the LONGEST episode ever of the podcast, but who wants to edit when there is so much love in the room - from Nat's audience-assisted Diet Coke habit, to Stu's Tormund Giantscake. There's surprisingly actual talk about the episode too, and where all of our favourites wind up. What a ride it's been! Thanks to everyone who has listened - whether live at the Brisbane Powerhouse, or in the privacy of your own podcast app - Nat & Stu very much appreciate it. They'll return soon enough for a wrap-up podcast, after having some time to process the entirety of the season. Plus they have plans in store for more podcasts, so stay tuned!
Sat, May 18, 2019
It's flame time on Raven On, as not only do Nat & Stu discuss the huge events of "The Bells", including Daenerys' epic decision, but they also lay the foundations for their own long-awaited feud. With a fantastic live studio audience, Nat & Stu tackle the big issues of plot development, character arcs, Clegane Bowl, and whether Jon Snow should have just had sex with his auntie and saved everyone a whole lotta mess. Plus questions from the audience and a final episode of the short-lived sitcom "Cersei & Qyburn Try To Make This Work". Thanks to Mary Mae's Bar & Kitchen at Brisbane Powerhouse for hosting us - come down on Tuesday 21 May for the final ever live episode for the final episode of Game of Thrones!
Fri, May 10, 2019
They're back, with much ruminating to do! Nat & Stu reconvene in front of a live audience to discuss the fallout from "The Last of the Starks". With Dany losing another dragon and a trusted adviser, will she go full Mad Queen? Will Varys and Tyrion betray her? Why did Jon Snow not say goodbye to his loyal wolf Ghost? How good is Tormund at just everything? All that is just the beginning - plus there's the last ever episode of "Living at Home with Grey Worm and Missandei", sadface. Only two more episodes left - you can join us at the Brisbane Powerhouse on Tuesday nights from 7pm!
Fri, May 03, 2019
TORMUND GIANTSBANE IS ALIVE! That's pretty much the only thing Stu cares about after the epic battle of "The Long Night", but he and Nat still find a lot more to chat about in this week's live podcast. Arya stabbing! Bran warging! Melisandre flaming! A bunch of people unexpectedly surviving! Plus, we were treated to an amazing musical performance by Wendy and Zannah, who sang "Jenny of Oldstones" so beautifully. It will give you chills! Make sure to check out @wendylangmusic and @zannahmusic on Instagram to see more of their work.
Wed, April 24, 2019
Valar Morghulis has never seemed so real as we approach The Great Big F***-Off Final Battle. Nat & Stu are joined by an enthusiastic crowd who want to process all the quiet hope and despair in this episode, and also to boo Natalie's puns, apparently. There's an episode quiz, audience input AND a big survey on who we think will live or die in the Battle for Winterfell. Plus the (highly likely) final instalment of "Living at Home with Grey Worm and Missandei". Get the tissues and copious alcohol ready for next week's onslaught!
Wed, April 17, 2019
Valar Morghulis! Valar Dohaeris! Your loving servants of the Old Gods, New Gods, Red God, Drowned God, Many-Faced God, and God of Death, Nat & Stu are BACK! Game of Thrones Season Eight is finally here, and your two recapodcasters (sure, that's a word) have returned to get super excited about all things Westeros, and super scared about the impending end of the best show ever. There's lots of setting things up this week, moving chess pieces into place, but also some moments we weren't expecting, such as dragon-riding, and big revelations, such as a certain brooding former-King-in-the-North's family history. Plus the threatened new segment, "Cersei & Qyburn Try To Make This Work". This is Nat & Stu's first ever LIVE podcast recording too - and thanks to our amazing first audience! If you're in Brisbane, come down to Mary Mae's Bar at the Brisbane Powerhouse every Tuesday night from 7pm to catch the live recording of Raven On! It's FREE!
Thu, April 04, 2019
They're back! With just a few precious days until Game of Thrones Season 8 starts, Nat & Stu catch up for a chat about all things Westeros ahead of the beginning of the end. They chat about trailers and other publicity HBO has been drip-feeding to we thirsty fans, relive older episodes in a blaze of nostalgia, plus many, many sidebars. And there's a new in-podcast sitcom! Get ready for "Cersei & Qyburn Try To Make This Work"! (It'll make sense when you listen. Maybe). Enjoy, and thanks for listening!
Sun, January 06, 2019
Happy 2019, everyone! Nat & Stu are joined by special guests Nick Wiggins and Greg Rowbotham to mine over the last episode of Season 11, and first (only?) episode of 2019 - "Resolution". This is a particularly long listen, so maybe jump on the treadmill, or bike, or scooter, or do some cleaning - basically settle in for a deep dive into the nerd pool. Thanks to everyone for listening to Who's Raven On this season - no doubt we'll see you more in 2019! Have a wonderful year.
Thu, January 03, 2019
It's finally here - the long-talked about, possibly foolish, self-penned episode of Doctor Who: "Jefferson Starfish". When the Doctor and Stu accidentally wind up in London on New Year's Day 1889, they're startled to discover Jack the Ripper might be back. But soon twists reveal a different culprit at play, bent on an EXPLOSIVE revenge! Featuring cameos from real-life historical figures such as Inspector Abberline and police surgeon Thomas Bond, "Jefferson Starfish" should you have hooked as least as much as one of the shabbier episodes of Doctor Who S11. Featuring Nat & Stu as "The Doctor" and "Stu", as well as the vocal talents of Nick Wiggins, Scott Driscoll and Gregory Rowbotham. Tremble in fear at... JEFFERSON STARFISH!
Fri, December 14, 2018
All good things must come to an end - even a "mostly fine? It was fine, wasn't it?" season of Doctor Who. Join Nat & Stu for their final S11 recap podcast, in which they wade in to the Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos, get reacquainted with Tim Shaw, and Joining the team for one last trip in the TARDIS is Greg from the Smart Enough to Know Better podcast, who helps the hosts muse over Jodie Whittaker's debut season, and some of the ups and downs therein. This won't be the last podcast - we've still got to record our masterpiece self-generated Doctor Who story "Jefferson Starfish", plus we'll return for the New Year's Eve special. But thank you all for joining in for this podcast through space and time (in particular time, as hooooo boy these really blow out in length).
Thu, December 06, 2018
Nat & Stu go to Norway for magic mirrors, alternate dimensions, crap creepy monsters and COSMIC FROGS! Yes, it's another pretty good episode, is "It Takes You Away". There are also plenty of tangents this week because your hosts were in weird moods. Natalie rants about Coca-Cola and is inflicted over Zac Efron as Ted Bundy; while Stu is still riding BIG COW all the way to the paddock. Enjoy!
Thu, November 29, 2018
Nat & Stu are back, and they're on Skype again! Forgive the odd technical glitch as they VOIP it up and discuss "The Witchfinders". Nat also goes on a typical Nerdy History Rant, Stu muses over the gender implications of the Doctor becoming a woman finally seeing the light of day, the pair both praise the devil out of Alan Cumming's King James, and ponder what the final two episodes might hold. Enjoy!
Tue, November 20, 2018
Kerblam! Nat and Stu are joined by journalist and Doctor Who fan Nick Wiggins for a look at this subtle examination of human labour versus robotic efficiency OR massive dig at/exoneration of Amazon. Stu is cranky that the key message is that mega-corporations have it right, and that you shouldn't rebel, just be happy you have a job. Nick brings an intriguing season-arc theory to the table, which is cleverer than anything Nat & Stu have come up with. Meanwhile Nat seems mostly excited about next week's episode about witch hunts, judging by the amount of times she references medieval woodcuts. Enjoy!
Wed, November 14, 2018
Welcome back to Who's Raven On, where this week Nat & Stu declare "Demons of the Punjab" to be their best-liked episode so far this season, and not just because of CRUMPET. However, as expected, there are some flaws and questions about this episode, and the broader question of how interventionist the Doctor should be, particularly when fake personal histories are mixed in with real historical events. Also Natalie talks a lot about her own Gran, plus the attempt to develop a Doctor Who episode takes another, potentially grim, turn. Enjoy!
Wed, November 07, 2018
Tiny hungry space monsters and strangely undermined plot points form key talking points of this week's Who's Raven On podcast. Nat & Stu are puzzled by an episode that had lots of promising parts, but somehow left them both with more questions than answers. Plus there's a special appearance from guest podcaster, Chloe Giantsbane!
Fri, November 02, 2018
SPIDERS! GIANT SPIDERS! RAP MUSIC! MR BIG! It's all happening on this week's episode, as Nat & Stu wrap their hairy legs around toxic Sheffield spiders and irresponsible yet ebullient capitalism. There's a bit of talk about how Stu & Nat feel Jodie Whittaker is travelling as the Doctor, plus a lot of talk about writing their own episode involving starfish. Tune in for more development as we go along!
Fri, October 26, 2018
The Doctor is back in time and hooooooooooo it's complicated. Join Nat & Stu - and special guest Dan Beeston from the Smart Enough to Know Better podcast - as they talk about "Rosa". They are, of course, all very white, and are very aware that they may accidentally offend given the subject matter of the episode - race in America - is just a *teensy* bit incredibly complicated and loaded. There are a few inevitable tangents, and Natalie continues to struggle against the march of time by insisting she is still relevant and "hip with the kids".
Wed, October 17, 2018
Nat & Stu are coming to you via Skype this week, but that doesn't stop them throwing down some incisive commentary on Doctor's accidental visit to Desolation in "The Ghost Monument". Art Malik has a lot of fun as the organiser of an intergalactic space rally, the TARDIS gets a makeover, and what is "The Timeless Child"? All that and more nitpicking from Nat in this week's podcast.

Nat & Stu crash through the train ceiling of charming adventure drama with their first podcast of the new and womanly improved series of Doctor Who. Hear their thoughts on Jodie Whittaker as the new Doctor, the change in theming, tone and music, a lowdown on companions, plus special guest Greg from the Smart Enough to Know Better weighs in on that toothy villain. As the Doctor herself says: "Well, this'll be fun!"

Nat and Stu are back, and it's FANTASTIC! (They hope) Your intrepid Game of Thrones tragics are filling Westeros void by jumping onboard the TARDIS train and doing a podcast about the new season of Doctor Who - you know, the one with the WOMAN! A WOMAN! Can you even imagine, goodness gracious, what on Gallifrey is going on? Anyway, this is a preview/introductory podcast in which Nat and Stu discuss their history with the good Doctor, some thoughts on the impending season, and a fairly good chunk of Game of Thrones chat because they just can't help themselves. Thank you for listening!

Well, stone the crows, if it isn't a wildly out-of-season Raven On episode! Natalie and Stu decided to get together for some old-fashioned banter, as well as introduce Stu's newborn daughter CHLOE GIANTSBANE to the world of amateur podcasting. It's been a year since S7 ended, and who knows how much longer we have until S8 takes GoT out of our lives together, so strap in for some poorly-researched ramblings about anything vaguely related to our favourite folks from Westeros and beyond. There's also, as usual, many tangents onto other subjects, including Nat's forthcoming adventure, and internet culture. Thanks for listening!

Deja vu, it's another Raven On S7E7 podcast! As promised, this is the full, "Hey they're in the room together" finale rundown that Stu and Nat promised before Nat selfishly went to New York and disrupted the usual schedule. There's a bit of chat about recapping New York-style, then onto the episode itself, Jon Snow's buttocks, and the BOAT SEX between blood relatives. Littlefinger's demise is welcomed and revelled in (almost a little too much), and everybody is thrilled with Jaime's intense face-acting, and eventual decision to ditch Cersei. Nat & Stu are determined at some stage to either start another podcast, or do something else GoT-related while they wait and wait and wait for Season 8. If you have any thoughts, feel free to suggest them!

With Natalie in New York for the big GoT S7 finale, she and Stu catch up via the wonders of VOIP for this intermediary podcast. They discuss the potential fall out from the Jon/Dany Boning Potential reaching 100% likelihood, and Natalie's strong reactions to said boning (so strong she didn't even take time to appreciate gratuitous ass shots). They also chat a bit about the very timely justice that was brought to Littlefinger and the Ice Dragon bringing the Wall down with mighty ice-fire. Or fire-ice. Whatevs. A full podcast will follow in early September once Nat & Stu can get back in the same room and EMOTE their little hearts out. Enjoy this one in the meantime!
Tue, August 22, 2017
Something's in the frozen water as Nat and Stu get as giggly as helium-sucking schoolgirls in this week's Raven On. But then, this was the episode with man-banter, and zombies, and dragon rescues, and the Night King's epic darts effort, and an ice dragon, and goo-goo eyes, and JON SNOW'S ABS. We can forgive all the time-jump craziness for that, surely? There's a few diversions into Sherlock Holmes territory and the perils of writing song parodies to terrible songs. And a heads up: Natalie will be in New York for the final episode of S7. She and Stu will attempt a brief podcast via Skype which will be uploaded here; but a full podcast debrief will happen once she's back in Brisbane in early September. VALAR PODCASTIS!
Tue, August 15, 2017
Stop. For Nat & Stu, it's Hammer Time. Yes, a beloved long-missed character makes his return in this eventful episode that somehow managed to not have a big event. But there was the fall out from the loot train battle of last episode, and the promise of exciting wild men adventures next episode. In between, there was discord at Winterfell, Jaime and Cersei celebrating a little lion in the oven (or is it a fake news pregnancy?), Sam getting shirty at being ignored by the Maesters and not realising it when he does the very same to Gilly, Jorah returning to Dany only to shove off again, Jon being hunky and touching a dragon, and Davos being an all-around top bloke and witty raconteur. You'll be pleased to know Natalie keeps her lengthy divergent ramblings to a minimum this week because there's just so gosh darn much to get through. Enjoy!
Tue, August 08, 2017
It's a rather screechy start to this week's podcast, as Nat and Stu express their excitement at the EPIC F***ING FINALE of that episode. The Dothraki charge at an unprepared Lannister army! Drogon starting the biggest flame war since Gamergate! Bronn wielding a huge weapon that isn't his personal organ! Drogon shot in the shoulder! Jaime charging at Dany! Jaime falling into the lake! It's almost all too much, except for Stu, who could do it all over again and call it ice-cream. There's also another Stark reunion, Bran behaving strangely, Arya fighting Brienne, Cersei seducing the Iron Bank and Dickon learning about the perils of war. Join Nat & Stu for all that, and the odd Aladdin sing along.
Tue, August 01, 2017
They're back, and they're excited! Dany and Jon finally met in person, and so Nat and Stu - who've been meeting in person now for years - are keen to discuss it. Well, mostly keen to discuss Jon's clifftop brooding and Tyrion's zingers. Our intrepid GoT natterers pay floral tributes to Olenna Tyrell, discuss the crazy geographical criss-crossings of the Greyjoy fleet and Lannister army, and do their best impressions of Emo Bran. There's much more, including some fairly poor-taste humour involving Euron, Cersei, Jaime and a number of orifices. Apologies in advance.
Tue, July 25, 2017
HOT PIE is back, and to celebrate, here's a steaming hot Raven On recap podcast. Nat & Stu delve deep into the politics of game-playing - from Dany's LARP table in Dragonstone, to Jon's courtly chess in Winterfell. Arya tries to teach an old dog new tricks, and Euron proves he is the new king of Battleship. Plus there's a VERY awkward episode of "Living at Home with Grey Worm and Missandei" which is worth the price of admission alone. And it's free, so yeah, it's worth about that much.
Tue, July 18, 2017
IT'S FINALLY HERE! Season Seven has arrived, and Stu and Nat couldn't be more excited if you plonked a stark naked Jon Snow in front of them. Well, in front of Nat anyway. This is a fresh, piping Hot Pie podcast served basically unedited to ensure it gets in your earholes fast and furiously, so excuse any errors (and a random Shakespeare soliloquy). Our intrepid hosts discuss Arya's FEROCIOUS FREY FRENZY; Cersei's GIANT WAR ROOM FLOOR MAP; Euron's PROPOSAL; Jon, Sansa and their TOTALLY FINE RELATIONSHIP; the sexfulness that is TORMIENNE, Dany's Dragonstone-coming; and SO MUCH MORE. Gods, it's good to be back. Valar Morghulis!
Fri, July 14, 2017
Welcome to a very special extra podcast! Nat and Stu team up for their first ever collab podcast, with Dan & Greg from Smart Enough to Know Better - a podcast of science, comedy and ignorance. Greg runs through his "Jorah is Azor Ahai" theory, while Dan retools a popular SE2KB segment for Westeros. Enjoy the banter!
Tue, July 11, 2017
Well folks, this is a long one. Natalie is the middle of a impending-Season-Seven-induced mania, and her obsessions with Jon Snow are starting to take disturbing turns. OK, more disturbing turns. The result is a lot of chatter. A note on times with this one - Nat and Stu spend the first 15 minutes or so chatting about Natalie's recent victory at a GoT trivia night, then there's a few minutes about the aforementioned disturbing elements, before a lengthy diversion into James Bond territory. If you want to skip straight to GoT S6 recap goodness, skip forward to the 35 minute mark. There's SO much to talk about: Dany and her burning escape from Vaes Dothrak and her dragon attack on the Masters at Meereen; Jon Snow coming back to life; Jon Snow reunited with Sansa; the Battle of the Bastards; Jon Snow as King in the North; the flashback that proved R+L = Jon Snow. There's more than Jon Snow, of course, but... yeah. Also Natalie apologises for saying "Toto by Africa" instead of "Africa by Toto". It was due to mania and tiredness but still, a shocking oversight.
Tue, July 04, 2017
With S7 now just two weeks away, Natalie and Stu are into the home stretch of season recaps. This week it's Season 5, famous for a little thing called THE FOUL AND UNJUST MURDER OF JON SNOW. Oh yeah... um... spoilers? Join our intrepid Westerosi correspondents and catch up on all the hard-hitting highs and home truths of Hardhome, more best made plans gang agley for Cersei, the Dorne Bros and their pointless (?) storyline, Arya in Braavos, Tyrion and Jorah trying to cosy up to Dany, the return of Drogon - plus a fairly serious chat about THAT Sansa/Ramsay sequence. Along the way there's talk of trivia competitions, Australian cliches, and something called "Thrones and the City"?
Tue, June 27, 2017
It's a shocking display from Natalie this week as she completely fails to remember most of the important events/plot points of Season 4. Lucky Stu is here, as usual, to set things right. Oberyn Martell and the Viper/Hound showdown, the Purple Wedding, Tyrion on trial and the deaths of Shae and Tywin, Littlefinger and Sansa head to the Eyrie, Arya and the Hound buddy-adventure through the Riverlands and Vale, Jon Snow & the Night's Watch take on the Wildlings in the ferocious Battle of Castle Black, and f***ing Ollie enters our lives, only to end Ygritte's. It's a corker of a season, so that explains why this podcast is slightly longer than planned. So much banter!
Tue, June 20, 2017
Clearly nothing much happened in Season 3 of "Game of Thrones", so why Nat & Stu are even bothering..... except of course THE RED WEDDING and JAIME'S HAND and JON AND YGRITTE AND THE CAVE and EVERYTHING ELSE. There's so many storylines and our intrepid Thronecasters fail to cover them all in the depth they deserve, but by crikey they give it a shot. A special big THANK YOU to everyone who's subscribed to Patreon in advance of the upcoming S7. Your $1 per recap payment goes towards things like our Soundcloud subscription, equipment, and much more. It is appreciated. It is KNOWN. If you want to sign up, head to www.patreon.com/girlclumsy
Tue, June 13, 2017
Join Nat & Stu as they kick off a discussion about Season 2, sometimes forgotten, but always awesome. There's talk of Jaqen H'ghar and Arya's deathly deal, Jon Snow's adventures north of The Wall, the Battle of Blackwater Bay, Melisandre's shadow baby, Robb Stark's seemingly so positive war record, Dany's dreary-ish story arc, and for some reason, a deep dive into what Qarth must be like these days. Thanks to all of you who subscribe to the Patreon account for the Raven On recaps. The recaps will be published free, but your support helps makes them - and bonus content like these podcasts - happen. You can find out more about the Patreon and why you should consider paying just $1 per episode over at www.patreon.com/girlclumsy. Love your work, kittens!

Annnnnnnnnnd they're back! Natalie & Stuart return for some pre-season vocal warm-ups: weekly season-by-season recaps of Game of Thrones so far. This week they chat about 2011's Season 1, including some of the controversies about the show's style and portrayal of certain characters, as well as looking back on how some of our favourites started as our most hated. There's also random chats about how they both got into the show, general nerd stuff, Doctor Who, Jane Austen, breaking computers and more!

A special treat* for all Beloved Throners today! I've been staying with my Gran, the esteemed Queen Pat, in Port Vila for the past few days. During a storm yesterday, I was able to sit her down and watch the first two episodes of Game of Thrones with her - she'd never seen it! Afterwards I recorded a special PATcast with her about her thoughts on our crazy show. Please keep in mind it was quite late and Gran was a bit tired, so it's mostly me rambling at her and trying to get her thoughts. But it's reasonably entertaining. Valar Morghulis! *I don't know if it's a treat. It IS a lot of me rambling, so take it as you find it.
Tue, December 06, 2016
Beloved Throners! Get ready for a very special surprise end-of-year, out-of-season Raven On podcast! Michael has been in Brisbane starring in the hilarious stage show "Graeme of Thrones" at the Brisbane Powerhouse Wonderland festival. The show is playing until Saturday December 10: http://brisbanepowerhouse.org/events/2016/11/30/graeme-of-thrones/ Suit up, strap on and get ready for a fantastic 45 minutes of insider information including: *Shooting epic scenes such as the death of Mance Raydar, the stabbing of The Brooding One and his own death sequence *The spookiness of the Castle Black set in cold weather *Bloody Olly *How reaction videos are like football games *The amazingness of his fellow cast members including Liam Cunningham and Kit Harrington. *Not one single question about Jon Snow's abs Thanks to the Powerhouse and the Graeme of Thrones team for helping us make this happen - we hope you enjoy it!
Wed, June 29, 2016
An EPIC podcast to cover an EPIC season finale. This one clocks in at nearly 90 minutes, so grab a drink and settle in for talk central as Nat & Stu forensically comb through both the wreckage of the Sept of Baelor and "The Winds of Winter" as a whole. There's a few detours along the way, of course, including some serious revelations about Natalie's rebellious teenage years. That's right - she once passed a note in class. How subversive. Thank you all once again for tuning in every week to our talkfest, and a special shout out to everyone who's left brilliant reviews on our iTunes page. If you were a Game of Thrones character, you'd be Lyanna Mormont. That's how GOOD you are.
Sun, June 26, 2016
The moment is almost upon us! The final episode of Game of Thrones Season 6. Join Nat and Stu for this (out of character) short preview podcast ahead of the final showdown for this season. It's fast, it's fiery, it's something else starting with an "f".
Wed, June 22, 2016
Now THAT was an episode! Join Nat & Stu as they "unpack" (Stu's new favourite word)this epic Episode 9. All the drama, humour and dragon fire of Meereen, then all the bloody and visceral action of the Battle for Winterfell. We say goodbye to some beloved characters, and a "Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out" to some others. Guess which ones. Go on, guess. We also take a slight meander down a World of Warcraft path, for those of you who think fantasy and video gaming is nothing without resource management.
Sun, June 19, 2016
Welcome to our first ever live podcast! Having reached a significant goal on Patreon, Natalie & Stuart donned shonky AF costumes and recorded this podcast via Facebook Live. That's why you'll hear them stopping to read comments, but won't actually hear a live studio audience. It's just Nat & Stu laughing at each other's jokes again. This episode sees Arya get her groove back, Brienne and Jaime reunite in a frission of excitement, the overrun of Riverrun, and Cersei getting boned in the Red Keep (but not in the usual manner).
Sun, June 19, 2016
Natalie is still editing the Live S6E8 podcast to make it suitable for uploading. It turns out trying to speak into a camera and a microphone at the same time makes for a real pain-in-the-ass situation when it comes to editing. In the meantime, please enjoy this random rap about the 19th century London physician John Snow. Yes, that's right. John Snow. With MASSIVE apologies to Lin-Manuel Miranda and "Hamilton".
Fri, June 10, 2016
Woof, woof! Join Natalie and Stu as they discuss the return of the Big Dawg himself - alongside veteran awesome guy Ian McShane. There's rejoicing in the kickass babeness of Lady Olenna and Lady Mormont, a Magical Mystery tour of the North, Margaery being told to lie back and think of Highgarden, and Jaime and Bronn in a stew at the siege of Riverrun. Also at some point Nat & Stu diverge into chatter about the superiority of 80s/90s cartoons, and how the kids these days will never understand. There's also more crackpot Azor Ahai theorising from Smart Enough to Know Better's own Greg Wah.
Fri, June 03, 2016
It's the soft and smooth sounds of easy listening in this week's podcast as Natalie and Stu delve deep into this breather episode of Game of Thrones. Arya gets her Needle back, Gilly gets a makeover, Sam gets assertive and Dany gets a monologue. Also there's no Jon Snow so Nat & Stu have a chat about Kit Harington's recent comments about being the victim of sexism.
Wed, May 25, 2016
This is why we can't have nice things. After such a fun, happy episode last week, Stu's prediction that it would all come crashing down was proven right with the tragic death of.... well, you probably know by now, but just in case, we won't spoil here. Join Stu and Natalie as they comb through "The Door" looking for any scraps of hope. There's also talk of the Ironborn's game show style method of choosing a monarch; Jorah and Dany have a Moment; and there's some fantastic live theatre on display. Also - sound the wang alarm! Don't forget you can support the Raven On recaps via www.patreon.com/girlclumsy
Wed, May 18, 2016
Rejoice, one and all, for it is happy times for (most of) our favourite characters in Game of Thrones this week. Jon! Sansa! Brimund! Tormienne! Daenarys, Mother of Kicking Ass and Taking Names! Join Natalie & Stu as they indulge in one of their most enthusiastic and joyful podcasts to date, full of laughs, gags, skits ("Living at Home with Grey Worm and Missandei") and random characters ("Kevan, the Aussie Westerossie"). Enjoy this hour long gabfest before everything goes to hell in a handbasket next week. Because you just know it will. We're not allowed to be happy for long...
Wed, May 11, 2016
Natalie and Stu are back, and damn, so is Jon Snow. Our intrepid pair discuss Jon's intrepid pair... of buttocks... and how he dealt with his murderers. You'll enjoy Stu's explosion of happiness at Olly's death. There's the reappearance of Rickon, the shirty Small Council, Varys and Qyburn's competing little birds, and a mega epic flashback sequence to the Tower of Joy. Natalie also discusses her recent outing to a Game of Thrones trivia night, and the key discovery she made that blew her mind. Don't forget to join the Facebook fun via: www.facebook.com/nataliesthrone And there's the Patreon too! www.patreon.com/girlclumsy
Fri, May 06, 2016
Praise the Old Gods and the New - he's back! Yes, Stuart is here again, joining Natalie for another Game of Thrones Raven On podcast. Oh yeah, and Jon Snow came back from the dead. Join these two tragics as they lovingly caress the stabbed body of Jon Snow to really penetrate the hows and whys of his comeback. There's also delight at Stampy the Giant and the Zombie Mountain's comedy smackdowns, joy at the return of Hodor, Bran and potential flashbacks, and some kitten interference.
Thu, April 28, 2016
They're back! Natalie & Stuart are raring to go for this all-new season of non-book-based Game of Thrones. Join this intrepid pair of nerds as they probe the mystery of Melisandre, the saving of Sansa, the contemplation of Cersei, and much more. Of course, they talk a lot about Jon Snow. Like, what is UP with that guy and his whole "still dead" schtick? You'll also be pleased to know Stu's hatred for Olly remains implacable, and it turns out Nat can make not one, but two beastiality references in a podcast. See if you can spot them!
Sun, April 24, 2016
Bless the Old Gods and the New, Game of Thrones Season Six is almost upon us! Natalie & Stu got together to catch up on the state of play at the end of Season 5 (apparently Jon Snow died, who knew?), and speculate about characters' fates in Season Six. There's also some tangential chats about Marvel and potential toxoplasmosis. You'll also hear more about where Natalie's written Raven On recaps will be this year, and the Patreon campaign she's started and will shamelessly plug until the White Walkers are sent scurrying back to the Land of Always Winter. www.patreon.com/girlclumsy if you want to support!
Sat, April 23, 2016
While recording their Season Six Game of Thrones preview podcast, Natalie & Stu diverged into a conversation about the recent death of megastar musician Prince. They've excised from the full podcast for length's sake, but here it is as a bonus mini-podcast if you just can't get enough of two people who are not really Prince experts banging on about The Purple One.
Tue, April 05, 2016
They did it! They made it through the first season. Sure, it's taken longer than initial ambitious plans would have it, but kudos for trying. Join Nat & Stu as they scrub their hands in the wash up from Ned Stark's execution, chat about Dany's nude and dragon-awakening powers, and just how sexy Jon Snow looks when he's feeling rebellious. Also Lancel baits Cersei for being old and Natalie cracks quite a clever yet highly inappropriate pun.
Sun, March 27, 2016
They did it, they really did it - they killed N** S***. (Warning, spoilers). Join Nat and Stu as they discuss the finer points of the Stark patriarch's demise, as well as marriage dilemmas for Robb Stark, Tywin's fateful meeting with Shae, and more. There's also about a seven minute conversation about Arnold Schwarzenegger films, if you're into that sort of thing.
Sat, March 19, 2016
Things really are getting to the Pointy End, which we can only assume is why they called the episode that. Nat & Stu eventually discuss this episode, but not before Natalie bemoans Jon Snow's love life via slam poetry and ponders setting up a Game of Thrones themed phone sex line. There's also some Syrio and Greatjon Umber inspired accent work, plus a lengthy, almost, sensual look at Khal Drogo's badass fight scene.
Sat, March 12, 2016
Shit's going down in King's Landing town, with the death of King Robert, Ned Stark detonating the twincest truth bomb to Cersei, and the subsequent coup against the Hand of the King. Join Nat & Stu as they delve deep into these and more issues, as well as a bit of "Jon Snow is an Emo" talk. Note: there's a few f-bombs in this episode that Natalie couldn't be arsed bleeping. I mean, it's not like you wouldn't have worked it out. Just deal with it, people.
Thu, March 03, 2016
Listen to Nat & Stu get so caught up in aspects of this episode that they totally forget to talk about the hardcore death of Viserys Targaryen at the end. Seriously, they forgot that. What kind of GoT recap podcast IS this? Apart from that shocking oversight, there's plenty of bollocks about Robert, Cersei and Ned's awkward hate triangle, more love for Bronn, and questions about "Why the fish?".
Fri, February 26, 2016
Stuff's getting serious now, with blood in the streets of King's Landing, imps in the Eyrie and Renly and Slow Lorus getting busy in the bathroom. Join GoT tragics Nat & Stu as they go through the good times and the bad times* of Game of Thrones episode by episode. *Yes, all right, fine, it's mostly bad times
Fri, February 19, 2016
It's the episode that should have you totally hooked by the end of it... Cripples, Bastards and Broken Things. Tyrion is awesome, Jon Snow is at his tough, broody best, Sam Tarly is a heart-breaking addition and guys, guys, HODOR has arrived! Join Nat & Stu as they chat all things Game of Thrones in another Raven On recap podcast.
Sat, February 13, 2016
Natalie & Stu are back with the third installment of their foolhardy quest to binge-watch all of Game of Thrones from the very start. In episode 3, they discuss the appearance of Syrio Forel, one of the best badasses ever, and the introduction of characters like Varys and Littlefinger (who is a massive arse from the get-go).
Mon, February 08, 2016
Natalie and Stuart return with the second instalment of their ambitious podcast recap series - to watch every episode of Game of Thrones in order and talk crap into a microphone after each one. This time round they talk bad parenting, sympathy for Sansa and how many is too many when it comes to bastard children.
Mon, February 01, 2016
We're back, baby! That's right, you can't escape Natalie Bochenski and Stuart Layt, who are bravely and somewhat foolishly re-starting their Game of Thrones journey right back from Season 1, Episode 1 - and recording companion podcasts for each one. In this debut episode, rediscover your joyful love of characters like Ned Stark, Robert Baratheon and Theon Greyjoy's penis. There's talk of foreboding and clever foreshadowing, and also how pretty Jaime Lannister was before he got all messed up 'n' stuff.
Wed, July 01, 2015
Finally! Nat & Stu get down to the serious business of recapping the entire fifth season of Game of Thrones. There are theories and guesses and speculations galore, so warning - here be spoilers! There's also an unreasonably long rant about the shittiness of the British TV series "Primeval". Seriously, so crappy. Plus they're also keen to hear any feedback you have on the podcast in general, and your thoughts on what this intrepid and often lazy duo should record while we all wait for GoT S6.
Wed, June 17, 2015
WHAT AN UNEVENTFUL SEASON FINALE SAID NOBODY EVER. Join Nat & Stu as they delve into the bitter, bitter end of Game of Thrones season 5. Clearly there will be spoilers about Cersei's parade, Stannis' sticky situation, Sansa's big drop and Jon Snow's incredibly happy and uneventful appearance. They have however forgotten to discuss events in Dorne, so will leave that to a season wrap-up podcast next week. Valar Morghulis!
Tue, June 09, 2015
Oh Stanny, now we got Bad Blood. You know we used to be Mad Love. Now we got Problems. And I don't think we can Solve 'Em. Certainly not with violent retribution at any rate. Join Nat & Stu as they talk all things Game of Thrones S5E9, in which their feelings are ripped apart by a shocking act of betrayal but stitched back up again by the arrival of a little guy called Drogon.
Thu, June 04, 2015
WOOOOAAAAAH, shit just got real. Some very big cards were de-sleeved this episode, and some very big giants got their wood out. And swung it. Wow, even these blurbs are getting irrationally sexual. Join Nat & Stu as they digest everything Hardhome and beyond, including a longer than probably necessary rant about how much Ollie sucks.
Wed, May 27, 2015
Oh hubris, thy name is Cersei. Join Nat & Stu as they wallow in all the woes of Westeros this week, including the High Sparrow's ever increasing power in King's Landing and Sansa's failed first attempt to outsmart Boo! Hiss! Ramsay Bolton. There were fun moments too, such as Jorah and Tyrion finally meeting Daenerys, and Sam & Gilly getting all hot under the covers. Settle in and wrap your listening gear around our aural outpourings. Ewww.
Tue, May 26, 2015
As a filler track while editing continues on the Raven On S5E7 podcast, please enjoy a few minutes of tomfoolery, as Natalie confesses to rugby league fan Stu what a n00b she is about the game. Warning: contains sports talk, and also someone who knows nothing about sport behaving in a cringe-worthy fashion in front of sports players. However it will make you feel better about yourself.
Mon, May 18, 2015
WHAT THE ACTUAL F***. Seriously, what the hell. Ramsay Bolton needs to have his scrotum devoured by fire ants. Join your GoT tragics Natalie & Stu as they forensically analyse THAT scene, plus do the rounds of Essos and Dorne.
Tue, May 12, 2015
Boo! Hiss! The Boltons show more of their utterly awful side, which, let's face it, is their only side. Meanwhile Daenerys turns on the dragon BBQ in Meereen, Jon Snow makes a deal with the Wildlings, Stannis is off south and Tyrion and Jorah encounter dragons and Stone Men. Join Nat & Stu as they talk about it all.
Wed, May 06, 2015
Oh no! Is this the end for a couple of favourite characters? It's Game of Thrones, so yes, probably. Join Natalie & Stuart as they talk about characters pushing boundaries, Bronn and Sand Snakes being badass, and Melisandre totally crossing the line with Jon Snow.
Wed, April 29, 2015
Ooh, things are really starting to get delicious in Westeros and parts beyond. Join Nat & Stu as they discuss the blasted Boltons, the manipulative Margaery, the commanding Jon Snow and more.
Tue, April 21, 2015
Hello Dorne, welcome back Bronn, and for the old gods' sake Dany can you actually make a sensible decision? It's a jam-packed episode of Game of Thrones, and Nat & Stu talk about it all.
Tue, April 14, 2015
Join Natalie and Stu as they dissect Game of Thrones Season 5 episode by gloriously bloody and nudey episode. Warning: a few F-bombs pepper the conversation, but in a fairly wholesome way.
