Fostering a lifelong commitment to growth and excellence in his personal and professional endeavors, at fifteen years old Jason Azevedo began his first manufacturing company with $600. As a nationally-ranked wrestler during the start of his entrepreneurial journey, Jason used his spare time to study business and hand-built most of the early robotic manufacturing machinery used by his business. Resourceful, capable and self-taught, to this day Jason still uses these early skills to help his employees build, maintain, and repair virtually any piece of equipment used in production. Even while rapidly scaling his companies, Jason never lost sight of the things that were important to himself, his family, the people he employs and the world at large. At nineteen he’d founded one of the first large Breast Cancer charities, “Goals for a Cure,” a nationwide, top ten ranked non-profit soccer tournament that attracts teams from countries across the globe. Throughout his career, Jason has worked on the boards of several prominent causes including a nationally-recognized non-profit group focused on upward growth with cash reserves in the millions, and helped successfully pull one of the top five Christmas events in the country out of bankruptcy. Jason has lead over 2000 employees and runs multiple companies offering clients a wide range of industrial manufacturing services including metalworks, plastics, electronics, and packaging options. Winner of multiple international product awards and no stranger to philanthropy, Jason works closely with chemical companies in developing safer, more environmentally-friendly industrial processes. With 200+ million in career revenue, Jason and his teams have moved or rearranged the majority of his production facilities from China to the USA in a profitable manner, and he is working to acquire and build additional manufacturing companies throughout the United States. Dr. John Gattorna, stands at the forefront of supply chain ‘thought leadership’ in the world today, and his work has influenced many of today’s leading multi-national corporations. He has made it his passion in life to stay at the cutting edge of supply chain design, and his last three books are testament to that, the most recent being Dynamic Supply Chains; how to design, build and manage people-centric value networks, 3rdedn., FT Prentice Hall, Harlow, 2015. His advanced methodologies offer a way of dealing with the ‘new normal’ operating environment, characterized by volatility, and yet more volatility, with no respite in sight. John’s work has taken on a ‘whole-of-enterprise’ feel and scope, because he steadfastly believes that you can only transform enterprise supply chains if you transform the entire enterprise, hence his multi-disciplinary approach to supply chain design, from ‘outside-in’, using ‘design thinking’ principles. Apart for researching, consulting, and teaching, John likes to share his best thinking with peers and business associates around the world, and for this reason he organises summits every two or three years – bringing the very best supply chain academics, practitioners, and business executives together for a talk-fest lasting two days, on a strictly ‘by-invitation-only’ basis. John officially launched his latest book Dynamic Supply Chains (2015) at the last global SC ‘thought leadership’ Summit, Athens, Sept’15, and both e-book and hard copy versions are now available. See the ‘Book Launch’ tab of the Summit website www.2015gscs.com for more details about the contents. John is Executive Chairman of Gattorna Alignment, a Sydney-based Firm specialising in supply chain ‘thought leadership’, and Adjunct Professor at UTS Business School, Sydney, Australia. John welcomes your comments, and can be contacted on his personal email address: john@gattornaalignment.com He is now one of the most respected supply chain ‘thought leaders’ in the world.

Since the 1980s Bill Marrin has been one of supply chain’s most important thinkers. He has worked for innovative start ups as well as Eastman Kodak, and has worked closely with companies like Apple and Adobe to help improve product delivery as the print and publishing industry adopted networked services in the 1990s. As Bill says, “We were doing cloud before cloud computing was cool.” In 2007, Bill joined World 50, an invitation-only peer organization that provides a forum for C-level executives at the world’s top companies to exchange ideas in pursuit of growth. The supply chain subgroup, Supply Chain 50, was started by Bill.
