Dan and Nick are back with a jam-packed episode of The Winner's Edit to break down Episode 12 of Survivor 47 . This week, they dive into the themes of the episode, dissect the wild "heist movie" editing style, and tackle the big online debate: was Andy’s move brilliant or blunderous? The duo reflects on the heartfelt FAMILY LETTERS moment and how it shaped the players’ strategies. They also celebrate their listeners with a quick shoutout to Spotify Wrapped before unpacking Teeny’s fiery "full Liz" moment and the episode’s central themes: community and the importance of staying steady. Through challenge domination, emotional highs, and strategic missteps, Dan and Nick explore how the castaways balance their legacies with the need to stay in the moment. Plus, they look at what it means to “play the game” without distractions, overconfidence, or breaking pace. Finally, the guys wrap up with a fun Yahtzee-style placement draft to predict how the supersized finale will shake out. Who’s got what it takes to claim the million? Tune in to find out! In this week’s episode of The Winner’s Edit Podcast , Dan and Nick dive into Episode 11 of Survivor 47 to analyze how the game is shifting into high gear. Is the pagonging inevitable, or is there room for a shake-up? With fan sentiment dipping and a flood of introspective confessionals, the episode offers plenty to dissect. Themes and Stories: Community matters, but does it hold up under pressure? Slow and steady wins the race The dangers of emotional distractions, overconfidence, and legacy-chasing. How the players on the island evolve versus who they want to be. Contenders and Storylines: Dan and Nick pay their respects to Kyle’s journey and evaluate the remaining castaways. They question Genevieve’s isolating approach and its stark contrast to the theme of community, particularly as her rivalry with Rachel continues to simmer. What does Rachel’s inability to eliminate Genevieve suggest about her long-term narrative? Win Predictions: The audience overwhelmingly backs Rachel (71%), with Caroline and Andy trailing. Nick and Dan weigh in with their own takes—spoiler: Rachel is running away with their odds. Tune in for rankings, feedback, and insights on how this season’s themes are shaping the endgame. EPISODE 10 DOUBLE BOOT - Discussion & Analysis by The Winner's Edit
Mon, April 15, 2019
The Winner’s Edit is BACK! We’re covering Episode 9 and all the shenanigans within, including its extra-long Tribal Council. In addition to mentioning some stuff we missed from Episode 8, we talk about several theories for who the firemaking loser might be, conscious vs. subconscious bias in editing, fan-favorite segment What’s Up on Edge of Extinction, and who might be in the running for the worst player of all time. Additionally, we cover picks for the winner and the next boot. Join us!
Fri, March 29, 2019
This week on the winner's edit its the merge episode! Whats going to happen? We analyze the EoE returnee twist and what it means for the season going forward, as well as the narrative that has been completely shifted. This was a jam-packed episode.
Sun, March 24, 2019
On this week’s Winner’s Edit, we cover a turbulent double-header of an episode before next week’s twist revelation. On the eve of the merge, we talk about complex tribe theory and how this season’s fit might be an unlikely source (and no, we don’t necessarily mean Edge of Extinction). We also discuss everyone’s edits, good and peanut-buttery bad alike, and we talk about where they fit in as we enter the back half of this game. Thanks for joining us!

Drop your buffs, because it's time for Episode 4 of The Winner's Edit! A swap episode is crucial for winner contenders, and while Dan and Joe agree that this is the season's best episode so far, it's just as edgically perplexing as any that have come before it. Listen to chats about Edge of Extinction's breakout episode, two very differently edited contestants that look like real contenders for the next boot, and some interesting pitches as to who the winner of this strange season could be. Thanks for listening!

Episode 2 Discussion and Analysis by The Winner's Edit
Sun, February 24, 2019
On Episode one of The Winner’s Edit: Edge of Extinction, we pick apart the editing in the cramped premiere of Survivor’s 38th season. We discuss the strong motherly themes prevalent in this first episode, how different the tribes look when it comes to winner candidates, and what exactly to make of the bamboozling edits of our four returnees as well as the first boot. In the end, we roughly come to the same conclusion on winner contenders. Thanks for joining us!

CAST ASSESSMENT/PREDICTIONS/TWIST DISCUSSION by The Winner's Edit
Sat, December 15, 2018
On episode 11 of the Winner’s Edit, we mourn deeply for our past winner picks – and try to figure out the puzzle that awaits us in the finale. In addition to one final once-over on all the stories of the season, we talk about potential winners breaking Edgic “rules”, members of the Final 6 as Season 35 characters, and how one castaway shockingly emerges as an apparent frontrunner despite all their faults and negotiation. Join us!
Mon, December 03, 2018
On this week’s episode of The Winner’s Edit, it’s double the fun with a two-hour, two-boot episode to be discussed. One castaway plummets from a lack of story, while another surprisingly appears on both of our lists due to consistency. We also talk about Kara’s undoubtedly crafted edit, Gabby’s hysterics as they concern her winner chances, and the continued importance of authenticity and empathy. We still have different winner picks, but next week’s previews could mean for big shakeups in the weeks to come. Join us!
Sun, November 25, 2018
In Episode 9 of the Winner’s Edit, another great episode leaves us still not quite sure who’s going to be coming out on top. Here, we discuss the implications of the Davids using literal game advantages to make the best of a bad situation, how to interpret Angelina’s cooldown episode, and the season’s potential sprint towards a dream final four. This week, our contenders are all over the place for us while one person has consolidated most of the popular support online! What does that mean? Listen and find out!
Mon, November 19, 2018
This week was strange! Some of our main contenders faded to the background while characters who seemed to be relegated to supporting characters rose to prominence! What does it mean? Listen and find out! (apologies if there are audio issues this time - delay meant some sacrifices to our timeline with editing!)
Mon, November 12, 2018
The merge is upon us in Episode 7 of the Winner's Edit! We discuss the nuance and implications of a fascinatingly-edited weird merge episode. Topics include Alec's bizarre breakout merge episode, a listener question about Gabby's merge feast confessional, and who will still be around on finale night. We end with a consensus pick for the next boot but some tricky ambivalence on who this season's winner is going to be. Thanks for joining us!
Sun, November 04, 2018
On this week’s episode of the Winner’s Edit, we discuss our Final 13 and the end of the pre-merge. With merge on the horizon, it’s time to discuss complex tribe theory! This episode also shook up the winner contenders quite a bit, so we rehash a bunch of storylines. With everyone’s edit a bit flawed, Dan and Joe veer in different directions on their top contenders. We also discuss what it means to have an edit very focused in the present, and the implications of a goat-less merge. In the end, isn’t survivor editing all about misdirection? Join us!
Sat, October 27, 2018
This week we chronicle the downfall of a legend, but a queen rises from her cold-depths. This was a super fun, unique episode that we think is a great way to edit a "predictable" boot. Let us know what you think!
Sat, October 20, 2018
On this episode of the Winner’s Edit: David vs. Goliath, we talk about where things stand following one player’s quit and an exciting tribe swap. Our discussion includes the story’s focus on women, nerds, and Slamtown, the collection of oddball edits that make up the Tiva tribe, and Natalie Cole’s reflective properties. In the end, we look at the likely winner edits, with one contestant pulling ahead of the rest. Join us!
Sun, October 14, 2018
After a brief hiatus, WE'RE BACK! Dan was out last week filming sequester so we have 2 episodes worth of content to analyze. Huge week for our contenders, and this season is shaping up to be one of the best in recent memories! :)
Sun, September 30, 2018
On this week’s episode of The Winner’s Edit, we discuss the superb premiere of Survivor: David vs. Goliath. We begin with our general impressions of the episode and what stories opened up in these first sixty minutes. We also discuss what it means for the least visible contestants in a fairly balanced episode, how to think about David-heavy editing, the focus on personal stories and their portrayal in the narrative, and much more. We conclude with our winner picks and predictions for next week’s boot. Thanks for joining us!
Tue, September 25, 2018
We're back! We go through the castaways and predict what their story might look like, and whether we think they have a chance to win. Thanks for listening, and apologies for some minor audio issues.

The Story Of The Season - Episode 14 by The Winner's Edit
Sat, May 19, 2018
On Episode 13 of the Winner’s Edit, we take one final look at the two-horse four-goat race that’s unfolded throughout Survivor: Ghost Island. In addition to talking about who’s going to win, we speculate on where everyone else is going to end up and discuss the feel and mentality of the season’s editing as a whole. We make some predictable Laurel jokes, field a question about Edgic in International survivor seasons, and mourn someone we never thought we’d be so funereal over. Thanks for listening!

We made a vow to Aunt Patty that we would release another episode, so here we are. This week was...not great! But we finally have a clear picture of the storylines of this season. This episode doesn't do as much looking forward as looking back. The mystery of why Chelsea was so invisible is uncovered, perhaps! Welcome to this week's The Winner's Edit - This episode provided lots of clarity, and confusion to how this season plays out. This episode revitalized the chances of a few people and we attempt to figure out what that means.
Sun, April 29, 2018
Most of the time on the Winner’s Edit, we talk about what content sends someones chances down the drain. But in Episode 10, it’s someone’s lack of content that has us talking. In this episode we discuss the ramifications of Wendell’s super-quiet UTR1 episode. We also continue on our quest to slot in all the non-winners, which is aided by the revelation of next week’s twist. Thanks for listening! On Episode 9 of The Winner’s Edit, we bask in the fairly quiet aftermath of the war between Domenick and Chris. It seems like there’s still a handful of potentially-winning edits, but they’re all riddled with flaws of some sort. More than that, we try even harder than before to slot some definite “deadits” into their finishing place. But on a season like this, where there’s one core group of four and not much else in the way of alliances, can anyone be sure how this one season will haunt us forever?

Episode #08 - Ghost Island Discussion and Analysis - The Merge by The Winner's Edit
Sun, April 08, 2018
You could say things were in a bit of a holding pattern on this episode of Survivor: Ghost Island, but on Episode 7 of the Winner’s Edit, we’re excited to have our friend Matt as a guest host as we chat about complex tribe theory. With the pre-merge stage of the game winding down, we take a look at the assorted tribe configurations and consider which tribes spun threads for the future and which ones kept things strictly to the necessary plot. With a jam-packed advantage-filled episode this past Wednesday, we come to a potentially surprising consensus for what may be the complex tribe of these last two episodes. Along with all this, Matt joins us in our usual rundown of each castaway and their chance at winning. It seems like things are narrowing down with an extremely obvious front-runner. There’s a maxim that says in Edgic, the pre-merge shows you the winner, the post-merge makes you doubt it; will this hold true for Survivor: Ghost Island? SHOW NOTES: – Dan’s Edgic – Joe’s Edgic – Matt’s Edgic Confessional Transcript Drive In this Episode, Matt uses the term ORG, which stands for Online Reality Game. If you’re unfamiliar, fans of reality TV have taken Survivor and other competitive reality formats and made them playable in an online setting through forums or specialized apps. There’s not really a centralized place to find ORGs, but if you search for “survivor ORG” on Google or Facebook you’re likely to find some more information!

It’s a chance at FRESH NEW LIFE on Episode 6 of The Winner’s Edit, as we talk about an exciting new swap in Survivor: Ghost Island. We start with coverage of the stories that have found their way into the first six episodes and ponder if they’re the themes that will define this season. As always, we consider each castaway’s edit individually; for us, it’s become something of a two-horse race, and we discuss which is the winner and which is “the Devon.” Along the way, we talk about the exact logistics of #WINSHELL, discuss the Desiree Afuye Winner Edit, and hold a final funeral for the winner’s stakes of one long-armed queen (seriously, we promise!). How beneficirary for you to join us! SHOW NOTES: Dan’s Edgic https://i.gyazo.com/82d0737385c5a76f4752511e74eadf9f.png Joe’s Edgic Confessional Transcript Drive

It’s a day of mourning for The Winner’s Edit, as we discuss Stephanie’s departure, the prevalence of the pre-merge “shock boot” edit, and what this boot means for the stories of the season. We also discuss each remaining castaway’s edit and what it means for their staying power in the season, winning or not. As always, our discussion is peppered with the villainy of one Bradley Kleihege, the frowny-faced charms of one Jenna Bowman, and the rap prowess of the pastry-hoarding Chris Noble as all these characters hurtle into an unpredictable swap. Welcome to the first ever The Winners Edit: A Survivor Storyline and Edgic Podcast This series is about the edit and the stories that come from the show so many love. The hosts are Joe and Dan, and in this episode, they take a pre-season glance at each castaway and their potential for a winner's edit -- as well as the red flags that could seal their fate. Both Dan and Joe are Survivor "Super-duper" fans, and have been long-time edit-watchers. They aren't here for cool points, or to brag about guessing the winner; they see Edgic as a way to enhance the Survivor viewing experience. It serves as a fun analogue to strategy and all the other parts of the show that are lovely and good. With each week's new Survivor, your hosts will be analyzing the edit of the season and considering the delicious storylines the show editors are dishing up. All the best!
