Jerry Wilkinson is founder and Chairman of The Wilkinson Companies, a privately- held real estate investment and management firm. Since 1984, Wilkinson has directed the operations and growth of the Wilkinson Companies and its subsidiaries. Wilkinson served as 2012 Chairman of the National Apartment Association (NAA). He has previously served as President of the Georgia Apartment Association (GAA) and the Atlanta Apartment Association (AAA). He is a member of the NAA and GAA Hall of Fame. He received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Duke University, an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School and has done post graduate work at Harvard. He is the recipient of the 2023 Philanthropist of the Year for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater Atlanta Chapter. About Ryan: My life has been filled with challenges and failure after failure…. through hard work, dedication, perseverance, and grit I found myself on the other side of it. I grew up in a broken home with an alcoholic mother and a bipolar father that was in and out of prison. It wasn’t like they didn’t try, they wanted to be good parents they just fell to the mercy of their conditions, it didn’t make them bad people, it just made them bad parents. Life was chaotic, peace was hard to come by, each day was like throwing a ball on a roulette table, you never knew where it would land. I can remember walking home from school when I was in 3rd grade (it would take me 3x as long as the other kids) because I would walk really slow to delay getting home and as I cleared the bend in the road I would peer around the corner to see if the cops were at my house (this typically happened 2-3x a week when my mother would get sloppy drunk and high) and my stepfather would leave the house. The best part of those days would be when she passed out from drinking too much, the only thing I had to do then made sure my brothers and my sister ate and went to bed. You see once upon a time I considered growing up like that a curse but today I look at those days as a blessing, preparing me for the life ahead to be the MAN, the entrepreneur, the husband, and the father I am today. I truly believe my past has given me the skills, the attributes, and the fortitude to break down barriers, overcome obstacles and conquer the challenges that have to lead me to where I am today. Now my body of work is shared with men across the country, in many different industries with vast differences in where they’ve come from and what they’ve gone through, and even where they’d like to go…..the one constant is they all strive to be better, do better and have more and that’s what ASCENSION is…the pursuit of a better way, the pursuit to be a better husband, a better father and a better businessman! About Will: As an 80's kid growing up on Atari and Nintendo, I was always fascinated by video games and their ability to hijack me and propel me into a world much better than the one I was living in. Where my only limits were on my ability to acquire the skills required to master the game. Divorced parents, an alcoholic and abusive mother, and a habitual outcast from constantly moving around as a kid left me suicidal my freshman year of college. One major goal I set and achieved was to become a successful entrepreneur - starting-up multiple businesses, and exiting one of them for 9-figures. Ironically, doing so helped me realize one of life's great truths on happiness: money alone can't buy it. Deep, soul-filling, long-term happiness requires a more holistic approach, and would require me to become the CEO of the most important business I'd ever run, MY LIFE! To run a successful startup requires fundamentally understanding, maintaining balance in, and growing in its core areas. But instead of HR, marketing, and accounting, in real life it's what I've determined are The Five Cores. 25 years later (why my current status is level 25) I've upgraded my avatar from a fixed victim to a growth owner who knows I have everything within me to reach any level I set my sites on - failing, learning, and continuously powering-up along the way. I ultimately learned that while life is complex, principles are not. About Liz: As the daughter of world-renowned plastic surgeon, Dr. Richard F. Edlich, Liz Edlich and her sister Rachel grew up in their father’s labs and were constantly exposed to skin rejuvenation and wound healing. About Frank: Every day, I wake up inspired to be a better version of myself. Norris Bell, also known as Coach Bo Bell is a retired professional basketball player. He is the principal owner and CEO of Bo Bell Basketball Academy. Coach Bell is a native Atlanta Georgian who for more than 40 years has dedicated his time, knowledge, skills, passion and love for the game of basketball. Coach Bell played for North Fulton High School where it all begun. As the new kid coming in after a football injury with the determination and fire in his eyes, he knew that no was not a option for his life. He exceeded everyone’s expectations and the path was paved for his future. After high school Coach Bell attended Middle Georgia College for two years then transferred to Gardner Webb in Boiling Springs North Carolina. He played basketball for the Bulldogs and finish the remaining years of his college career. In the spring of 1983 Coach Bell was attending the Atlanta Police Academy. The call of basketball ended that career path and open up an opportunity to sign as a free agent with the Atlanta Hawks. After a long deliberation with a trusted advisor he went for one year to the CBA with the Ohio Mixers in Lima Ohio where he earned the title rookie of the year. His first choice was the NBA but a scout from Europe made him an offer to play in the European professional league that he could not refuse. Paris France was the destination that enlighten him to a whole new world. In the European league he gained accolades while playing in France and Switzerland. He played against top players like Billy Knight, Ex Atlanta Hawks general manager, Michael Ray Richardson, Drazen Petrovic, Tony Kokoc, Avenis Sabonis and Bob Mcodoo to name a few. About Dr. Hecht: My educational experience first began when I took a high school assessment test saying I’d be good at engineering, and I enjoyed the design part of this field. I earned my degree in Mechanical Engineering from New York University. Then wanted to acquire my MBA, but did not have a business background, so I went to Colombia University and received my master’s in industrial engineering. However, being a people person and having my Master of Science, I decided to go into teaching High School and Community College for over ten years. I wanted to go into full-time college teaching, but did not have the degree so, I went back to school to obtain my Doctor of Science in Industrial and Management engineering going from an instructor to professor. However, throughout that time, it was very difficult to earn the Sc.D. degree. I was still working as a full-time teacher, had a family to take care of, had a 40-mile commute, and was only able to take classes after hours because the school was not accommodating to my schedule as a part time student and professor. I finally finished my doctorate at the age of forty-three. While I worked as a dean for working-class students trying to earn their master’s degree in the evenings, I saw how tired my students were. They all had different learning habits, a hard time staying awake, and struggled to afford their classes. I tried to fight the system to accommodate for these students, yet I did not have much leeway to teach as I wanted to. All these experiences motivated me to found California Southern University because I understand the difficulties to earning a degree while juggling life’s challenges. I wanted to change the educational structure, where students’ backgrounds and college testing scores aren’t the main factor. At CalSouthern we define our students as learners, because they are the center of the process. I want the learner to be the focus so they can reach their goals, can afford their classes, and avoid being in debt to earn a practical education and degree that sets them up for their future. Your outcome is what’s important and CalSouthern wants to provide the learners with the best opportunities for success. After running the school on my own for a few years through pen and paper, the university began to evolve from phone and mail to 100% online accredited institution honoring learners intellectual and individualistic freedom. Where did the idea come from? Deriving from a church-driven family, Ronnie Eriic grew up singing in the choir and learning to play the drums. Originally born in Plainfield, New Jersey but grew up in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. Ronnie Eriic’s love for music sparked a passion in him to further his career while attending Florida A&M University (FAMU). This is where he and three other students formed the popular Tallahassee rap group LOTD (Leaders Of The Dreamers). From there, Ronnie began working on perfecting his craft. Performing at various open mic nights became his thing, which eventually allowed him to perform for larger audiences like his alma mater Florida State University (FSU). After gaining a few more supporters, Ronnie was invited to open for artists like Currency and Pac Div. In 2014, he decided to move to Atlanta to further pursue his musical career. While juggling multiple jobs like Uber, Ronnie continues to chase his dreams. Ronnie started performing at different events and at local spots like The Music Room and East Atlanta Village. Touching these different stages would allow him to get his name out on the Atlanta music circuit. In 2018, Ronnie Eriic started to really hone in on his craft, he invested in himself by purchasing his first set of studio equipment where he started to learn how to record his own music. Ronnie enjoyed freestyling in his car, showcasing his rap flow, this allowed him to start to build a solid fan base. He also released his first album R.E.A.L (Recognize Everything Ain’t Limited) which he recorded in his home studio. In 2019, after his first studio debut album Ronnie released three singles “She Knows”, “Summer Vibes”, and his latest hit single “100 Grand” which is currently featured on NBA game highlights and a AT&T advertisement. Moving forward to 2020, Ronnie’s highly anticipated new album “REBIRTH” which he feels has raised the bar with infused R&B and Hip-Hop tracks everyone can relate to, learn something from and truly love every lyric and melody put on the project.
