Passageways was formed in the hearts of Jennifer and Susan, our Founders, in 2014 with a vision to impact the population of homeless Veterans living on the streets in the greater Wichita area. Passageways is a private, faith-based non-profit organization providing solution-based ministry services to the homeless and near homeless Veteran population with the mission to, assist every Veteran that walks through our doors to achieve their individual goals and provide essential tools and resources for housing stability, independence and self-sustainability. Partnering with one of the nations largest homeless providers out of Oklahoma City (City Rescue Mission), Passageways tailors programs after this proven leader in homeless populations. City Rescue Mission provides housing and social services to more than 600 homeless or near homeless people in Oklahoma City. They have been in operation since 1960 and are now CARF accredited. We are working with City Rescue Mission as they provide training and administrative support to Passageways. a warm and safe environment for veterans to call home. Our services to our Heroes are at no cost to them. After all , they have already given so much protecting our freedoms.

The benefit was started by graduates of Cathedral High School who wanted to give back to the sisters who taught at the school for many years.

The centerpiece of the Indian Center is the museum that houses work from American Indian artists from around the country. From the more than 3,000 piece collection, multiple exhibits are on display inside the museum. Exhibits are changed quarterly and yearly which allows us to explore many areas of American Indian life. Focusing on educating and preserving American Indian culture and heritage is the mission of our museum. With 39 pieces displayed, the Indian Center is home to the largest public collection of work by artist Blackbear Bosin. Bosin was born in Oklahoma in 1921, but his influence is still felt in the Air Capital city. Bosin designed the iconic Keeper of the Plains statue and was one of the founders of the Indian Center when it opened in 1969. The museum mixes interactive displays, videos about the exhibits and exquisite pieces of art to fully express the life and culture of American Indians.? www.theindiancenter.org

The Kansas DUI Impact Center annually hosts the “Race to Remember,” honoring DUI Victims and survivors and commemorating Red Ribbon week. Proceeds from the 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run benefit victims of vehicular crime committed under the influence of drugs and alcohol, and fund educational programs that raise community awareness of the dangers of impaired driving. www.ksdui.org
