Mastering Business Growth Through Specialization and Unique Strategies 🎯 Our discussion highlights the benefits of business specialization and targeted strategies like sending gifts to engage potential clients. The focus is on achieving success by consistently solving specific problems for a defined market, exemplified by scaling a business from $20 million to $150 million using innovative marketing tactics. This is an episode I have been wanting to do for a VERY LONG TIME. One of the most common questions I get as a no-code developer is "Is no-code the right approach for me and my idea?" If you're in the beginning stages of launching your idea or thinking about a no-code platform to build your app, THIS IS THE SHOW FOR YOU. Alex & Jesse founded PodMatch, a podcast matching and directory tool, using Bubble.io, but have since migrated their application to a custom coded solution. This is an evolution that I have been able to witness for most of the journey, and it is such a great example for anyone out there considering these options. If you're torn between code or no-code, LISTEN. If you're nervous about launching something new, LISTEN. If you want to avoid roadblocks, LISTEN. In 2018, Darryl started hosting music collaboration showcases for musicians in Washington D.C. and Atlanta, where he'd pair them up and give them time to create a new song from scratch. With the popularity of these showcases he decided to open a co-working space for musicians called Bass Parlour Studios . The studio quickly became a staple in Atlanta’s independent music community, but unfortunately when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, we were forced to close Bass Parlour Studios. After seeing the need for a space to find new collaborators and create with, he decided to develop a mobile app called ‘Bass Parlour’ that would allow musicians to find each other and collaborate on new music remotely. The Bass Parlour app is quickly becoming a global music tool used by musicians around the world.

Why are we so hooked on technology in the first place? Why do we create tech? What should it achieve? Why don’t we use AI first for solutions of our human-centric basic needs and get us 5x more time and money first before we amplify systems efficiency and make us better worker bees? About Kim As the founder and CEO of the GroupConvert software that allows consultants and course creators collect emails from their Facebook groups we have over 12000 subscribers and hold the unfair advantage of what works and does not work. Due to this unfair advantage, Kim went on to create her team of GroupLaunch Legends that lead to group owners increasing their income to 50-100k/mo by pitching their passions and profiting big on smaller audiences. In the online space, so many struggle to gain a massive following without their bank balance reflect these numbers. For over one year, I lived with self-inflicted rib pain from a coughing bout in early 2020. I could have chosen to deal with this issue a long time ago, but for whatever reason I didn't. When I finally broke down and decided to do something about it, all it took was one chiropractor visit to notice a HUGE difference - and that's when I realized something again. The biggest changes in life don't happen all at once - they are a result of small, incremental adjustments we make along our path to a target. There is always constant tweaking, adjusting and testing going on inside a business, so why would life be any different? I bet there is something in your life that if you just adjusted in the smallest way, it could lead to a huge change that you've been wanting for a long time. When we shift our path by 1 degree, we don't see a difference until we get miles down the road - but how great the difference can be.... What is one small adjustment you can make today to shift your path that 1 degree?

Your ability to focus and hone in on the most important, needle-moving activities on a day to day basis is reflective of your impact and rise in your career. Nearly all of us spend a good portion of our day wasting time, "kicking tires" or just plain procrastinating - and all it takes to change that is a different method of focus. For the past 6 months I've been using an app called GoQuantum , an app created by my friend Jeremy Findley which is specifically designed to help people like you and I focus, think more clearly and ultimately produce more. You can join me in the app if you download it and try it out! I promise you - it is a game-changer. What is one tool you can start using today to help you focus better and stop procrastinating?

There are times in life when things just do not go your way at all....like at all. This happened to me recently when my entire business was wiped out in a single night without warning and due to something completely beyond my control. My new business Dapper Mobile Apps used a hosting provider that lost all it's servers and backup data in a fire in France. Yet, through that entire experience, I managed to not lose a single client and actually came back from it stronger than ever. It provided me with the fire and excuse to take massive action and do something to come back from the worst case scenario. Is there a situation in your life that you are currently facing the worst-case in? The only thing you can do is: THE NEXT RIGHT THING... Now go and do the next right thing... With so many things on your plate every day and so many options to pursue inside of this world, how do you actually make a decision? How do you determine for yourself which paths to follow and which to let go? Try the RICE method to figure it out: R each: Is the goal/target within your reach or making you reach further than you possibly can? I mpact: Is this goal/target more of a self-serving goal or are you going to have a bigger impact than you originally thought? C onfidence: Are you confident in your ability to actually get the job done? Too much confidence and you might not be Reaching enough, but too little confidence and you might need some mindset adjustment. E ffort: Is this goal/target going to simply require too much effort on your part, or will you be able to knock it out in a matter of 10% of the time yo budgeted for it? It's not about making all these areas perfect - it's about finding that balance inside of each frame to determine which goals & targets to truly pursue. Want to appear on the Run Your Day podcast? With many of us working from home, or at least spending more time at home these days, the term "work-life balance" has brought on an entirely new meaning. How do you know when to lay down your work for the day? How can we differentiate between the blurred lines of work, family obligations, career aspirations and cooking dinner? It's a freaking nightmare. One of the keys to pulling off a successful "balance" (or as close as you can get to it) becomes setting your priorities for your day. Make the important things stay the important things. There is a reason you can't get everything done in one day - newsflash - because you aren't supposed to. I promise you, if you don't get everything done that you need to get done today, the world will not grind to a halt. Things will not come crashing down around you. There needs to be harder limits between you and the email feed, the social media scrolling and the aimless tasks that keep you "busy" every day. Need help with setting your priorities for the day? Try the Daily Planning tool inside the Run Your Day mobile app.

We all have 168 hours in a week. Whether you're Oprah Winfrey or the President or just a normal person. So how do some people use those 168 hours to get done 100x more than someone else? The answer: automation, delegation & systemization. At the end of the day, you and I can't do it all. It's nearly impossible to succeed alone. We need help - whether that is is from other people or computers or technology of some form. Two pieces of software I highly recommend are IFTTT and Zapier . These tools have both helped me revolutionize how I get things done, automate parts of my daily schedule and ultimately achieve more and accomplish more. My challenge for you: Find one way in which you can automate your life today. It doesn't have to be drastic or life-altering - just figure out ONE WAY in which you can automate something in your life today. Be sure to download the Run Your Day mobile app and please leave the show a review wherever you're listening!

Why is fear real? Why does it continue to exist? Besides the fact that is is hard-wired into us as human beings...it is because we continually indulge the conversation of fear in our minds on a constant basis. If you find yourself consistently being unable to take action, do the things you need to do, say what you need to say, etc....you are just stuck behind this conversation of fear. You're believing in evidence that may or may not be real which is reinforcing your belief that the fear is real. So how do we fix this? We start to have better internal conversations with ourselves. We have such a conversation, which takes place 100% via chatbot, which you can access through the Run Your Day mobile app. Called the "Fear Conversation" this series of questions is available in an on-demand chatbot function to: Ask you better questions Make you list the evidence you're facing, and Actually learn something from the entire experience You can download the app here and start using the Fear Conversation today. All too often, we circle between the highs and lows of our lives, one day thinking we are on top of the world and the next day thinking we aren't worthy or capable of anything worthwhile. I used to think this was a weird phenomenon in my own life, but I'm starting to see this is much more common than I previously thought. As entrepreneurs, creators and business people, we are constantly bombarded with tons of things, obstacles, emotions, feelings, and all kinds of other noise throughout the day. This has a funny way of stealing your confidence if you allow it to - especially if you work in isolation. One way I have personally found to combat this is through small meditative moments throughout the day and through the practice of regular journaling. There is some form of distinct power that comes out when you literally hand-write your thoughts and feelings onto paper, but typing them can also do the trick. Question: Have you dealt with imposter syndrome before (or are you dealing with it now) and what have you done to combat it?

No matter what you do, no matter what you're trying to accomplish, almost everything in life takes longer, requires more effort, more money and focus to accomplish than you originally planned. It's a simple fact of life. Even the small tasks of your daily commute or doing the dishes, if you think about it, usually take longer than you originally anticipated. But that is ok! Friction in life creates better results, and in it's own weird way is able to filter out those who are truly committed to something vs. those who are just interested. So - where in your life are you seeing friction is present and how can you start to deal with it in a more strategic way?

In staying consistent with the theme of this show, "Run Your Day" - let's all agree that you can't possibly be "running your day" when you're stuck on social media all day every day. It just isn't productive, it's a time-suck and it doesn't give you what you want. The crazy part is that every social network and app out there is literally designed with addiction and constant attention in mind, so it's an uphill battle every single day to fight this. In the end, take a look in the mirror and ask yourself: Are you addicted to social media? Yes or no? There is no middle-ground on this - either you are or you aren't. The good thing is that if you are - that's ok and there are resources out there to help you with these things. But if you aren't - that's great too, but keep up the good work and don't let this stuff suck you in!

I believe that the single-biggest thing holding many of us back in life is our willingness to get uncomfortable and just go for things. Don't be "that guy" who is all talk and no action. I see you. I know you. I WAS YOU. I STILL AM YOU. We all do it - we all stay comfortable for one reason or another. And it slowly and surely kills us. So today - just go for it. Just launch - like I did, when I was scared, uncertain, hesitant and terrified. Just go. Hey! Be sure to download the BRAND NEW Run Your Day app on the App Store and Google Play - or you can go directly to app.runyourdaypodcast.com to see what it's all about!

In the midst of a presidential election in uncertainty, we can extract a great lesson from this. Every election is essentially a "referendum" on the incumbent - do you want more of the same or change? It truly can be that simple. So inside of your life, if you were to do a "self-referendum" on the various areas of your life, would you vote for more of the same or would you vote for change? Would you vote to remove the person you've been from office and replace you with someone different, or would you keep doing what you're doing? It's something kind of deep to think about and despite all the chaos, confusion and anger brought about by this election, I think we could all use a self-referendum of our lives and move forward accordingly.

The more things you do in life, the more you have what I call "split-attention" syndrome, which is a killer in the world of productivity. You try to do too much, then end up not doing enough, then feel guilty and unaccomplished, then anxiety builds and you feel further behind and you fall further and further behind. It's a viscious spiral. So how do we escape that? Try meditating on a single question: What is the single thing I need to focus on today? Allow the answer to rise within you. Don't seek it out. Don't try too hard. Just listen to yourself. Trust yourself. You know you better than anyone, and your Voice will eventually give you the answer you're seeking. Question: What do you need to do today to simplify, clarify and focus on less in order to get more done?

Do you have what it takes to make your dreams a reality? Put simply: are you willing to keep going through adversity and do what it takes, for as long as it takes until you reach your goal? There's no getting around things, skirting things or taking the shortcut. The work is the work and that is the way it is. Question: Where in your life do you know that there is simply a level of things you need to go through over and over until your dream comes true?

Here's the deal: If you're going to start a business or try and do some big shit in life, there is A LOT of boring work involved in that journey. It's just part of it. The media we consume portrays this sexy and care-free image of entrepreneurs and big businesses, but it's not real. What you don't see is the boring, monotonous, tedium involved in the actual real work of starting and building these things. Yes - there are parts that are exciting - but the bulk of it is annoyingly boring. So what do you do? Own it! Embrace that boring work! This gives you an edge. How many people are willing to tolerate that level of boring work? Answer - not many. So start to learn to embrace that boring work, because if you do the boring, repetitive tasks you need to do over and over and over and over again - you will breakthrough that barrier and get to the exciting stuff one day. Question: Where in your life are you avoiding the "boring work" and you just need to shift and embrace it?!

Each one of us has a whole bunch of "unconscious" directions, patterns and behaviors that we follow throughout the day. It might be your commute to work, your morning routine, tasks at work, the way you answer the phone, etc. Many of these patterns are harmless, but some can cause you to go in an entirely different direction throughout your life. The best part about realizing what your unconscious patterns and behaviors are, the better chance you have of correcting them - if it is indeed something you want to correct. Through the process of awareness and becoming present to these behaviors, you can consciously act in ways that remedy these behaviors and therefore give yourself different results and a different reality. Where in your life do you now recognize unconscious patterns and behaviors and what can you start to do to correct them?

Just because someone says you should work out in the morning doesn't mean you should do that. Maybe you are more productive in the afternoon, evening or late-night. Do what fits your personality, your skills and your routines. Don't try to do something someone else can do just because that is how they do it. Be yourself and recognize where your individual strengths are. Question: Where in your life do you need to change up a routine or your "focus" time to create more space and power for yourself?

When I say "system" I mean an area of your life. If you take a good look around at one area of your life that might not be working the way you want it to, it might be because you don't have a high level of systemization there. Example: You want to work out and keep losing weight, but you keep falling off the wagon and quitting on yourself. Why? Because you don't have systems in your life to stay on track. You might not be part of a gym or a workout group to hold you accountable, or you just keep winging it and hoping for results. So, inside of your life, where is one area where you can make one small change today to make that area work better as a system? We'd love to hear your input, and you can leave comments on this question on our Facebook page !

There is a problem many of us face without even realize it: We are constantly trying to get back to whatever the status quo was before a change happened in our life. Think about it: You're going along living your life and doing your thing A "trigger" event happens and throws you into a different course or direction You then spend your energy and effort trying to return to the place from which you were thrown off course - a.k.a. the status quo The point however isn't to return to where you were previously - it's to move beyond that into a new and better place. A tool I use to pull this off is called The Stack and I use it through a program called Wake Up Warrior. If you want to learn more about the Wake Up Warrior program, you can check it out here: wakeupwarriorchallenge.com Where in your life have you been trying to return to the "status quo" when you now can start thinking about how to move beyond that place instead?

Just as the Bible says, "...to everything there is a time and a place under Heaven..." This is incredibly true and relevant in today's world. Why are we experiencing a pandemic RIGHT NOW? Why are we experiencing racial and social justice activism RIGHT NOW? You may not understand exactly why something is happening in the world or in your life right now, but there will eventually come a time when you appreciate why that thing happened in that place and time. One thing I've learned throughout my life is that there is never something thrown at me that I can't handle. No matter how bleak, upsetting, terrible or stressful something might seem, I've always found that it happened for a reason to shape me into who I am today in one way or another. Where in your life do you need to recognize that there is a time and a place to what you are facing right now (and that it won't last forever?) runyourdaypodcast.com

What comes to mind when you think about the word "risk?" Bad things, death, being broke, leaping off a mountain? Risk means something a little bit different to us all, but inside of a business & life sense it usually means doing something with both a potential upside and downside. You might end up better or worse because of an action or decision or thing you're doing. So how do you deal with all the thoughts and worries and anxiety around taking risks and get to a place where you can strategically and confidently take regular, calculated risks? Walk through the worst-case scenario in your mind and accept that outcome as the default. Think about it - if the absolute worst-case scenario does in fact happen and come to fruition, but you have already anticipated that outcome, where does that leave you? It leaves you in a place to fight another day. When you go through and accept the rock-bottom scenario as the likely outcome - anything that happens above that bottom threshold is a win! This shouldn't be confused with negative thinking, but it is truly a powerful way to gain certainty and clarity in your decisions. Question: Where in your life do you need to take a risk and stop sitting on the fence of indecision?

Do you tell yourself affirmations? Is what you're telling yourself actually true or is it a lie? Many people use affirmations in their life to affirm truths to themselves or create something different in their life. The problem is that sometimes those affirmations can be blatent lies. Example: If you tell yourself every single morning, "I'm a multi-millionaire" and yet you make $40,000/year in a job - you are simply lying to yourself. The fact that you tell yourself this daily doesn't make it real. It makes it a lie. Now, that being said, if the right things are affirmed to us with the right intention behind them, then they become powerful. Simply saying the words doesn't make the results appear - doing the work does. Question: What are the affirmations you tell yourself, and after further investigation - are they lies or transformative beliefs you are pursuing?

Did you know that "running your day" is actually easy? Weird, right? The only catch is that it's easy once you aren't being held back by anything. Imagine you were running a marathon with 150 pounds strapped to your back. That would make things much more difficult, right? Now - imagine that you shed that 150 pounds on mile 13-14. Do you think it would make the rest of the race easier, even though you still have half of it to go and are probably pretty tired already? All of us have something that is holding us back. Whether it is guilt, shame, fear, anxiety, abuse, childhood trauma - there is something that is preventing you from reaching your full potential in one area of life. Until you identify that thing and deal with it, you'll be carrying around that 150 pound bag. Question: What is holding you back?

There are two types of lenses you can view each opportunity that comes to you in your life: Excitement & possibility Obstacle & imposter syndrome A lot of this has to do with our self-identity and how we see ourselves. For example: if you can only lift 100 pounds in the gym, your mind sees yourself as "the 100-pound" person. So if you try to lift 150, there might be an initial freak-out moment or moment of doubt that creeps into your brain, because your mind is telling you that you are doing something that doesn't align with the identity you've created for yourself. You're entering the land of worry, doubt & anxiety. But there is a way to break through that - and that is just through simply challenging yourself. Do something uncomfortable and scary today - and see how you feel afterwards! Check out runyourdaypodcast.com for more episodes and cool stuff!

When you punch in an address into Google Maps, but you eventually make a wrong turn along that route, does Google Maps just shut down on you? Do you just pull over to the side of the road and stop and groan about it? No - you end up taking a different route, but you still get to the same destination. The same concept is true in our lives. Regardless of what you're working for or what you are trying to achieve in life, there will be changes to your route and plan along the way. The funny thing about the universe is that it doesn't care what your "plans" or "steps of achievement" are. Most likely, the path to achieving or obtaining something will be completely different than the way you envisioned it in the first place. Question: Where in your life have you missed a turn in the road and stopped to whine and complain instead of just staying committed to the result?

I'll have you consider that one of the biggest areas of mental toughness that isn't talked about today is self-investigation and reflection. Do you take the blame for something even when it's not your fault? It can be very difficult to do, espescially when your brand or reputation might take a hit, but I'll have you consider that fessing up to a fault or error - even when it wasn't even your fault - makes you better as a person and an authority in the long run. In this day and age where no one wants to take responsibility for any failure ever, it is those who do own up to their mistakes and work to correct them that will ultimately win and rise to the top. - Dan Hafner Where in your life do you need to accept more responsibility for failures?

Are you finding yourself demotivated, depressed, anxious, stressed and overwhelmed some days? Don't be afraid to admit it - it happens to us all. I myself am having one of these days right now. But here is a simple 4-step process to help you dig your way out of it: Acknowledge - the key to fixing a problem is admitting you have a problem right? Many of us struggle just to get into this stage and admit that we are struggling with ourselves or our motivation levels. Accept - instead of adopting the mindset of "screw this, I'm gonna man-up and just push through!" - you need to accept and submit to the fact that you're just having an off day. Believe me, it gets much easier once you can do that. Analyze - this goes back to playing the "why" game. Why are you feeling this way? What has happened to make this your reality? What is going on in your life? This is the process of unwinding and untangling your thoughts and feelings. Act - you'll come out of this analyze phase with an action - and you'll know exactly what you need to do. Maybe you need to take a day off. Maybe you need to go do something fun and socialize. Maybe you need to have that hard conversation with someone or change your diet. All of this work is fruitless if you don't actually act. So there you have it, the 4-step process to dig yourself out of a mentally tough situation. Where can you apply this to your life today?

Sometimes you just aren't strong enough to pull something off. You might buckle under the pressure or fall short of a target or just get your ass straight up kicked. The important thing to remember is that you aren't a failure or wicked or awful if that happens - you just don't have the capacity to pull that thing off right now. Even if you bite off more than you can chew, it makes you stronger. After all, how are muscles built? They are torn down before they build themselves up again. 2-part question: Where in your life have you been crushed by the enormity of something (job, fitness, etc), but looking back on it, you just weren't strong enough at the time to pull it off? Where in your life is something now easy which was incredibly difficult for you to pull off, but you haven't given yourself props for noticing that about yourself?

You gotta enjoy the little things! The more you do in life, the more you realize that the victory is found in the details. The closer you pay attention to the small details of something - whether it is inside your workout routine, your job or business tasks or inside a relationship - the more you find that nailing those details is what makes the difference. It's like "Any Given Sunday" - life is a game of inches! And when you add up all those inches, it's what makes the difference between winning and losing! Question: Where in your life do you know that you need to pay attention to the details more and what can you do today to start to do that?

Here are 3 ways in which I pull myself out of a bad mood: 1. Breathe - there are a multitude of apps that can help you with this, or you can just focus on taking 2-3 deep breathes (and holding in between) - there is nothing quite like the power of a deep breath. 2. "The Why Game" - similar to how a 2-year old asks, "why" to literally everything you say, do this inside of your own mind as well. Sit down and start with the question "Why am I feeling this way" and answer it honestly. Take that answer and ask "why" again. Then again, and again and again until you hit a point where the true story reveals itself to you. How will you know it has revealed itself to you - trust me - you'll know. 3. Move - For me, this involves running. For you, it could be a punching bag, working out, lifting weights, walking your dog, stretching, yoga, etc. It doesn't matter as much WHAT you are doing but as long as you are doing SOMETHING. Get up and shake off that negative energy, move your body and even break a sweat. So - what do you do to pull yourself out of a bad mood? If you need an accountability tool to help you run more, check out my app at runwageapp.com !

When you change your environment, you may find the tendency to get anxious or excited - or maybe both. The key to remember is that you don't change WHO YOU ARE just because you're in a different environment or situation. You are still you, no matter where you are or what is going on. This might seem self-explanatory, but is still important to remember because in this new world of constant change and turmoil, we can experience different levels of stress due to these new "environments." All that is happening is your brain is reacting to something new it has never seen or experienced before, which naturally causes some confusion and anxiety. How do you react to new environments or situations? With anxiety or excitement (or both)?

When it comes to choices - we all face a daily choice: - Be comfortable and stay the same - Get uncomfortable and be weird It is very uncomfortable to be different and weird and "interesting" because most people these days don't accept that type of behavior. There will inevitably be people that persecute you, call you wicked, hate on you or straight ignore you when you decide to do something different. The beauty in that is that it doesn't matter what they think - as long as you are living in your authentic truth and have nothing to hide, you have absolutely nothing to be sorry for. Where in your life have you faded into the background by choosing to stay the same and how can you start to be different and weird again?

A system is any combination of elements that work together in harmony to achieve a single result. There can be simple or complex systems, but the common thread is that the entire system is dependent on all parts working together and playing their role. Inside of the "system of your life" you can often become the weak link. You try 100 different ways to lose weight but never can You try to be more committed to your goals but never achieve them You try all kinds of different apps, software tools and anything else you can think of, but nothing works What is the constant weak link inside of all these examples? - You. "You can be your own worst enemy, but you are also your greatest asset." - Dan Hafner Where in your life are you constantly blaming something external for your lack of results, but ultimately it comes down to you being the weak link?

In the game of life, we all face this continual problem of constantly shifting priorities. No matter where you live, what you do, who you are or what you're about - you will have this problem at some level at some point. So how do you deal with this issue of constant fires, other people's issues, work projects and family life? Write your priorities and tasks down BY HAND IN A JOURNAL OR ON A PIECE OF PAPER. The power that comes with writing things out by hand is incredible. Yes - there are tons of digital resources out there in this day and age, but time after time I personally have found more production and meaning in writing my goals down by hand. Maybe this approach isn't for you - but then again maybe you just need to try it out. Check out the Full Focus Planner here.

The Titanic couldn’t miss that iceberg because it simply couldn’t turn on a dime. The dame is true in our lives. We think that we can get big and radical results by changing things and taking massive action, but the deeper truth is that it takes time to “right the ship” and change direction. Where in your life have you been trying to turn “on a dime” when instead you should be realizing it’s going to be more of a gradual turn?

It's absolutely insane how everything in life is connected in one way or another! Think about it - where would you be in your life if you hadn't made the small decision to take that job, or meet that person, or go to that party, or adopt that dog, or buy that house? The more I live, the more I see just how connected everything is, and how big of an impact the small decisions make on our larger-scale lives. So - where in your life have you seen that everything is connected?

Ultimately - everything has an expiration date! Going through something shitty? - Great! It won't last forever! Going through something awesome? - Great! Enjoy it now because eventually it will end. Everything in life will end at some point, which brings in this amazingly humble feeling to our ups and downs and feelings and everything in between. Once you can accept the fact that nothing will last - not the success you've created nor the shitiness you've created - life becomes so much less stressful and chaotic. Where in your life are you going through something good, and you need to slow down and appreciate that it won't last forever? Also - where in your life are you going through something not so good and you just need to realize that you will make it out of the woods at some point?

Marketing is a dance. It is a seduction game within the mind. The ultimate thing we all want is TO FEEL WANTED. No one feels wanted when they are told what to do, when to do it and why to do it. This is why people rebel against authority. Marketing is different in that you are trying to COMPEL someone to do or get something with A FIRE in their heart and soul. You can't manipulate, dictate or coerce. You must become a seductive player inside of this game in order to succeed. So: Where in your life do you need to become a "marketer" instead of a "dictator?"

Goal-setting sometimes doesn’t work the way you think it would work. You can’t just always measure your progress through milestones and the “I’ll get there someday” mentality. The best approach I’ve found is to just start being the version of you that you want to be now, today and in doing so you are automatically being the version of you that can pull off your goals.

You are selling yourself short at some level or another right now. There is success, money, love and purpose that you are leaving on the table, whether you realize it or not. In my case, I didn't look as in-depth as I should for apartments and houses, but I also discovered that I have so much work to do in many areas of my life and that I could be achieving a much higher level of success everywhere. Is the same true with you? Where in your life is there "more" available than you think? What are you leaving on the table by choosing to slack off?
Wed, June 10, 2020
How do you respond when the heat and pressure "turns up" in your life? Do you crush it, or do you crumble underneath it? Oftentimes we respond differently to different kinds of pressure and heat. Perhaps you buckle under the pressure of relationship "heat" but you crush the pressure of financial problems. Maybe you're a bad-ass when it comes to the pressure of overwhelming tasks at work but you can't handle the pressure of a simple sales call. Where in your life do you: 1. Crush the pressure you face, and 2. Crumble under the pressure you face?

We all create fake stories out of nothing and cause ourselves anxiety. Yes, you also do this whether you think so or not. In my case, the simple situation of forgetting a quarter for the shopping cart at Aldi sent me into this loop of stress and worry, when it ultimately was completely unfounded and ridiculous. So, the question for you is this: - Where in your life do you make up silly or fake stories, causing yourself unnecessary levels of anxiety and stress?
Thu, June 04, 2020
Everything imaginable is negotiable. We all go through our lives and tend to accept things for the way they are. Sometimes we forget to question or challenge why something is the way it is. This could be a routine, a law, a rule, and way of doing things, etc. The bottom line is that these things shape our behaviors without us realizing it. You might be leaving so much on the table without even realizing it. Negotiating is about both parties walking away with a better deal than before, so where in your life could you simply ask for more? Where could you re-negotiate something that will serve you better or get you more of what you want?
Wed, June 03, 2020
When we think ahead constantly, it can lead to negative though loops, which are almost always destructive towards what we want. The beautiful thing about a negative thought loop is that you have the power to stop it in its tracks, redirect the thought or feeling you're having and choose a different pattern. Now, this is much easier said than done. Even though you can work on this and try to correct it in yourself over time, the thing I've realized is that they never end. The negative thought loops never end - but this shouldn't discourage you. They never end because there is never a shortage of situations in which these can crop up. But the important thing to remember is that when a negative thought loop is presented, it is also an opportunity for a positive thought loop as well. Question: Where in your life do you recognize negative thought loops appear over and over?

Russell Brunson - know him? If you don't just Google him. As it turns out, we use the same stuff to deploy and use our apps. NBD :) Although this isn't earth-shattering information, it is significant because many of us have ideas or want to do things in life which we perceive as "risky" or "dumb" or "scary" when in reality it could be a REALLY GOOD IDEA. Instead of following in the footsteps of giants, you could BE THE GIANT and allow people to follow your lead. So - where in your life do you know you need to finally take that risk or jump into that "thing?"

Be sure and subscribe to the show! Sometimes you think you're in the "fast lane" when you end up being passed by others in another lane. This happens in stores, on the highway, in jobs, etc. The problem isn't that you're being "passed" - the problem is that you compare. We are all constantly comparing ourselves to arbitrary standards and lives of others on social media. "I don't have as nice of a car/house..." "I don't make as much money..." "Their life seems perfect!" Blah, blah, blah. Ultimately, you are competing against no one but yourself every single day. The only person you should be comparing yourself to is you. Where in your life have you been playing the comparison game and how has it affected your mood?

As always, you can learn more and subscribe to our weekly newsletter at www.runyourdaypodcast.com . With my lack of consistency inside of my allergy-prevention game, I manifested an out-of-place rib into my experience. No, this is not fun. No, it is not enjoyable. But it is 100% my fault. There is a very interesting pattern we see emerge inside of our lives when we apply consistency, or conversely when we withdraw consistency in an action. When consistency is maintained, results (usually positive) manifest. When consistency is removed, results (often negative) manifest. The question becomes: - Where in your life have you been implementing or removing consistency of habit and what results (good or bad) are you seeing due to this change?

We all have habits & routines that aren't serving us any longer. For me, getting out of bed seems to be a constant struggle to stay consistent with. 3 things to remember are: 1. Create structure in your life - a.k.a. timeblocking 2. Create context inside of that structure through to-do lists or hit lists 3. "First things first." Seems simple, but sometimes easy to forget. Where in your life have you fallen into a routine or habit that you can't seem to stick with or isn't serving you any longer? Want access to the tools and resources we used to build Run Your Day? Just when you think all hope is lost and you're never going to get what you want...THAT'S WHEN IT HAPPENS! How many times in life have you been on the verge of quitting, throwing in the towel, moving on to something else, etc., then all of a sudden it happens! The thing that you wanted to happen so bad actually did, and you're almost dumbfounded that it is reality. The key is patience. Similar to the principle found in "3 Feet From Gold," you have to keep going and keep charging ahead because you never know how close to success you actually are.

We often think that "once we have the thing" - whatever that might be - everything gets easier after that. However, sometimes the upkeep is just as difficult and time-consuming as the original work it took to get "the thing." Example: You climb a mountain, thinking the whole time it will be easier to walk down the other side. When you reach the top however, you soon realize the other side is full of more rocks and brush than you anticipated. As it turns out the other side of what you thought you wanted wasn't a walk in the park.... Daily question/challenge : How many metaphorical "mountains" have you climbed only to find that it wasn't what you truly wanted? Follow-up: What experience/knowledge did you gain just from the act of doing that thing?

In this crazy-ass COVID-19 world, there seem to be two extremes of opinion: 1. Wear a mask all the time 2. Don't wear a mask at all Isn't it interesting how we find ourselves being judgemental, fearful and even hateful towards other people according to whether they are wearing a mask or not? I've noticed where I live in WV, many people are NOT wearing masks, and yet we are not having a widespread outbreak yet. The most interesting piece of all this is that the entire thing seems to be one big social experiment in regards to masks. How to we treat each other? How do we respond to those not wearing masks. There are lots of interesting questions for reflection here. Please let us know your opinion on this! Humans are creatures of habit. Plain and simple - this is a fact. What I'll have you consider is that the underlying stories in your own mind are the things truly driving your habits and behavior. We are what we repeatedly do. We are also what we repeatedly think. Therefore, the thoughts you're having and the stories you're telling yourself are driving both the good and bad behaviors you exhibit. For more information on habit-setting & breaking, here is a great resource: https://jamesclear.com/habits Daily challenge: Identify one habit that you have in your life and list out the underlying stories that might be driving that behavior.

There will always be people who look, think and see things differently than you. No matter what path you go down, there will always be someone that thinks it is stupid, silly, wrong, wicked or clueless. Ultimately there is not much you can do about these people except to keep doing your thing. On the other hand, there are always people who think you are awesome, great, innovative or inspiring. These are the people that add fuel to your journey. These are the ones to pay attention to. Where in your life have you "gone a different way" or been "against the grain" and people have looked at you a certain way because of it? How can you put that to rest in your own mind by moving on from it and just accepting it for what it is?

Clutter in your life is confusing you. Yes, whether you'd like to admit it or not, the physical clutter you may not even see all around you is causing chaos in your life? How is this so? A Distracted Mind is a Chaotic Mind. The more stimuli our brains deal with on a minute-by-minute basis, the less focused we can stay on one thing. This leads to constant distractions, which leads to less productivity, which leads to less happiness in general for most people. So how do you fix it? Plain and simple- clean up your shit! If your car is messy, clean it up! If your house is messy, clean it up! If your closet or kitchen or laundry room is messy, CLEAN IT UP! Challenge: Find the physical clutter in your life and just commit the time and effort to clean it up - then see what happens to your mental state...

The Coronavirus lock-downs have given us an opportunity to focus on what is most important to us. Are you playing the victim card with this, or are you viewing it as an opportunity? When it came to finding and closing my first customer for my development agency, it took 10x the time, money and effort than I originally planned. Perhaps that is the case with something in your life as well. Where in your life do you need to do an "all-out blitz" and go harder, longer and faster than ever before to get a bigger and better result? As always, check out runyourdaypodcast.com for more resources and information!

Is your outlook on life beginning to shrink and pressurize as the Coronavirus lock-down continues? If it seems like it will never end - trust me, it will eventually. But there is an interesting thing that happens when there is pressure placed upon a system. Pressure causes things to shrink down to a smaller size. There is the same mass, but increased pressure. So how do we relieve this pressure - BREATHE. Controlled breathing, meditation, walking - there are literally TONS of ways you can do this, but my recommendation is simple breathing. Be sure to stay tuned for the new website and Run Your Day app coming soon!

I had the chance to have what I had wanted for months - the chance to start something new and go big. But I backed off, I didn't go for it and I didn't leap. Instead I bowed out like a little bitch. But you know what - it was better in the long run that I didn't go for it at that moment. Where in your life have you stepped back from the ledge and not leapt into something, but learned that the timing was better by delaying?

So after I was suddenly unemployed and had no idea what to do, I managed to find a way to build structure into my life. I started what became the single-most powerful tool in my entire arsenal - my morning routine. As I started to workout again, meditate, fuel my body with smoothies and journal in a notebook, I noticed changes begin to happen, not only internally, but externally as well. The more consistent you are with the things that you do - the bigger results you will have. - Consistency = growth.

After a while of being unfocused, unproductive and lacking results, my employer started to notice that I wasn't an asset to them any longer. I was literally forced to exit the company and spent 3 weeks afterwards mulling around my "business opportunity" but made no real progress. It was extremely difficult to be let go at this company and be without the "safety net" of a job to pay my bills. As a result, I went straight back to the safety net of my old job - the one I had previously quit. Going your own way and doing your own thing in business requires a lot of letting go. You have to learn to let go of expectations, ego and all kinds of things. It is the only way that you can be open to receive whatever is coming to you.

As I pursued down this rabbit hole and started to do more of a deep-dive than ever before, I found different feelings arise within me about what I wanted. I wasn't sure how to handle some things I found about my reality and myself, which was very difficult. I discovered that something was "off" and I didn't want to be in my current job anymore. So I started the process of transitioning out and it happened very fast. Ultimately, it takes time to figure out what you want and you have to go through this process alone. I can't tell you what you want - no one else can tell you what you want. You have to figure it out on your own - but there is help! There has been a choice or decision you've made at some point in your life that has led to the "rabbit hole" that you are currently experiencing. Whatever it is and whatever area of your life it is within, the important thing to realize is that it was YOUR CHOICE to go that direction. Not anyone else - YOU. So, with that in mind, what rabbit hole are you currently down and can you identify why you ended up down this path?

I remember vividly sitting on the couch wondering how in the hell my life had become what it had become. Lost, drifting, no purpose or direction. Maybe you've been there, maybe you haven't. The ultimate lesson I learned from that experience: RADICAL CHANGE REQUIRES RADICAL OWNERSHIP. Once you start to get comfortable with owning the facts of your life and where you are TODAY - the easier radical change becomes because you are moving forward on a foundation of reality, not fantasy. Where in your life are you in need of radical ownership?

I used to drive very conservatively and would take things very easy. What I never realized was how this bled over into my mentality of always forgoing what I wanted in life. The mire I’ve started to drive aggressively, the more I’ve started to make bigger moves in my life and business. Where in your life do you need to start adopting the “attack” mentality and apply it daily?
S3 Enull · Tue, October 29, 2019
Using coupons to get discounts at the store is a great idea - just don’t get used to using them in real life. I can't tell you how many times in my life I ended up chasing overly-complicated things when all I needed to do what simplify the living hell out of whatever I was doing. I stressed myself out, caused un-needed anxst and all kinds of other self-imposed things - but never realized that all I had to do was simplify. You are better off doing something simply and doing it better than you are doing something complicated and doing it half-ass. Where in your life do you just need to simplify?

You’re either going forwards or going backwards. There is no benefit in standing still. Even if you end up going backward for a bit, at least there is a gift to be found in that experience.
S3 Enull · Fri, October 18, 2019
Time lag is real! There is both a "front-facing" time lag and "back-facing" time lag. Backwards: The seeds you plant today you will reap down the road. When? Who knows - but it will likely be several months at least. Forwards: Always being forward-thinking in your own mind creates a constant results-oriented time lag where your current reality will not align with your future expectations. And it's not supposed to! That is the point! Where do you suffer from time lag, either backwards or forwards?
Thu, October 17, 2019
You're either going forwards or you're going backwards. There is no neutral gear in life. When you wake up in the morning, you either hit the ground running or you start falling behind. One of the big problems with this world today is that we all look on our cell phones first thing when we wake up, or we turn on the news or go straight to social media and without even realizing it, we place ourselves in a negative mindset off the bat. Does this sound condusive to an environment in which you can "run your day?" - No How can you be better about getting yourself out of neutral?
S3 Enull · Wed, October 16, 2019
Different things lead to different things. There is a current world view that holds your mind captive to the way a certain thing works or what “it should be.” In the end, everything that exists today does because someone, somewhere had the bold idea to make it happen despite what anyone thought.
S3 Enull · Tue, October 15, 2019
Expectations are a dangerous thing. Learning to be ok with yourself and your current status in life - regardless of how ugly or dissatisfying it is - comes down to a choice you make to adopt that mentality. Where in your life do you just need to be happy with the results you have manifested, but also start pushing for more?
S3 Enull · Fri, October 11, 2019
Ever watch the Lion King? Of course you have - that's a stupid question. Remember when Simba eats the bugs under the log and Timone says "Slimy, yet satisfying?" That is how life is sometimes. Sometimes you have to put up with the slimy shit in order to get the satisfaction out of the work you are doing. The result doesn't always show up the way you imagined it, and the work to get there isn't always glamorous. But hey, if it were easy - everyone would do it, right? What "slimy" part of your world do you need to embrace more?
S3 Enull · Wed, October 09, 2019
Ultimately, you can't go anywhere in life if you aren't willing to get radically clear about where you are. If you ignore the facts of what IS for you, the place you say you are going is a fantasy. It is pure bull shit. I lived in the land of fantasy for a lot of years looking back, but the process of getting super clear in my life across all of my domains gave me the opportunity to move forward based on a foundation of truth and power. Where in your life do you need to get super clear and be real about the facts you are facing?

Sometimes it's ok to take a day off or stop pushing towards something. This might seem counter-intuitive to what I talk about every day, but the reality is that no one can be "on" all the time. There is an ebb & flow to life that must be respected or you will burn yourself out before you even get started. It's not about hustling all the time, but it's not about relaxing all the time either. Ultimately, there is a lot of confusion that happens in our lives. Confusion happens within every single area whether we want it to or not. The key to overcoming this confusion is to finally reach a level of clarity in your life. Many of us in the younger generation have been so confused by what we are supposed to get out of life. We were taught, trained and educated to go to college, get the job and eventually pay off debt, but that approach simply doesn't cut it anymore. Not only is more schooling pursued, but additional debt and larger circumstances are taken on to compensate for this lack of income and increase in global competition. Question: What area of your life are you most confused in and how can you start getting clear on what you need to do in that area specifically?

The entire basis behind the RunWage app is to place leverage in front of you in order to achieve something. It is amazing what we humans are capable of when given an "impossible" task to accomplish. Whether the leverage you find is time-based, money-based, guilt-based or something else, it all works in the same way: it holds you accountable to something that you weren't originally making a priority. Where in your life can you find leverage to place in front of yourself in order to get something you've been wanting?

I've never been one to take failure well, and I usually beat myself up more than I need to about it. One thing I learned from a recent situation - it's not always your fault. Although the majority of blame or fault might be on you for messing something up, there are often external factors that come into play and sometimes things just aren't meant to be. SHIT HAPPENS. Where in your life are you not dealing with disappointment well and what can you change about how you view it?

The reality you are living in right now is a result of the actions you took 6 months ago, 1 year ago, etc. Simultaneously, the results you want six months, 1 year, 5 years from now are a result of the seeds you are planting today. Similar to an echo, there isn't an immediate payoff in the form of success when actions are taken. You just have to keep going, keep your foot on the gas and never slow down. Question: Where in your life have you stopped "planting seeds" and how has that affected your reality? Also, where can you start "planting seeds" now in order to enjoy the fruit of those in the future?

Ever hit that "wall" or obstacle time after time and just say "I just can't with this today?" Whether it's a situation, a person or something else, we all have these things come up in our daily lives. The best way around this is to simply as the question "why" over and over until you get to the bottom of this situation. Example: "I can't get out of bed and workout at 5:00 in the morning." Why? - "Because I like to sleep in." Why? - "I stay up late playing video games." Why? - "I don't have much else outside of my online interactions to occupy me." Ok - now we are getting somewhere. Challenge: The next time you have a situation in which you find yourself saying, "I just can't" try asking "why" over and over until you get to the bottom of it.

Using the power of social leverage can be a powerful motivator for accomplishments and change. The second you declare something to someone else, it becomes more than just an idea in your head. It becomes a reality that you have to follow through on. Challenge: Boldly declare something in your life and either post it on social media, text or call a friend, or find another way to get an idea out of your head and into the mind of another.

The same is true in our lives. Where in your life do you find yourself flailing about everywhere and not taking the time to figure out how to fix the issue from where you currently are?

We all have done things in our life that were once literally impossible for us to achieve. Brushing your teeth, riding a bike, swimming, etc. Those things were literally impossible for us to achieve at one point, but they are now second-nature to us. There are things in your life right now that you can achieve that you think are impossible. Daily Challenge: 1. Write down 3 things in your life that are now easy that were once IMPOSSIBLE for you. 2. Now write down 3 things in your life that are impossible for you to achieve, but you want them to become easy in your future. I'll talk more about how to make these things easier in a future episode...

Imagine a world in which we were all exactly the same. Same age, same looks, same goals, same job, same clothes, etc. Can you imagine how bland and boring such a world would be? We can all find ourselves in weird positions from time to time, and it is usually a result of telling ourselves a story over and over and over until it just becomes our truth. The thing about this is that we can eventually start lying to ourselves over and over because this situation may no longer serve us in a way that is useful to us any longer. So how to do you figure out if you are in a weird position? Take a step back and simply ask yourself, "Is this situation or story I am telling myself still true?" Finding your purpose in life is a difficult process and if you haven't found it yet, don't fret. Here are three things you can start doing today to find it: 1. Identify your strengths: Make a list of things you are even reasonably good at (even weirdly good at) and think about how those help you align with yourself. 2. Identify your passion: Nelson Mandela said, "There is no passion in living small; in choosing a life that is less than what you are capable of." We are all leaving time, money, effort and results on the table, but doesn't always have to be the case. 3. Find out where you can add value: What kinds of problems are you best at solving? Where can you take your strengths and passions and funnel them towards helping certain people or building awesome things to help someone get a real result? Being self-assertive means allowing the authenticity of who you are to shine through and project out onto the world. It isn't acting one way around a certain set of people and then acting a completely different way around someone else. The more authentic you are at all times, the less stories and lies you have to remember. Dilemmas appear all the time in life that will test your assertiveness and who you truly are as a person. Unless you are very clear on who you are, what you believe and where you are going, you will be swept away in the craziness of life and never be able to take a stand for anything at all. You only improve on your weaknesses when you push through the awkwardness of them, not be afraid to fail, and become comfortable with being uncomfortable. When I started this podcast, I was terrible at speaking. Through reps every day and listening to myself, I'm able to improve slowly but surely and become better. The same is true with you. Challenge: Identify a weakness in your life today and figure out how to get uncomfortable with it to improve.

We all can fall into negative self-talk habits and allow our thoughts to run rampant with doubt and fear. We do however have the innate power to purge those negative thoughts and move into a place in which we fill our minds with nothing but positive and motivating thoughts. It's 2019! Woo-hoo let's get after it! Let's slow down there cowboy. The reason most people burn out so fast in their New Year's resolutions is because they try to change everything all at once. Asking for help (or allowing unsolicited help) can be difficult to do for some of us, but it could be just what the doctor ordered in regards to the overcoming of roadblocks. "Don't talk, just act. The why is the most important part about this, because if you have no purpose, then what is the point?
