A lot of us don’t realize that we even have bodies, we don’t pay attention to feeling them and being aware of them. Practice being in your body by consciously making a mental connection to one random and particular part of your body, then moving to another part, and another. This same notion of awareness is also important to our sexual experiences. Somatics is a different way of addressing the client’s needs. We’re not necessarily looking for what’s “wrong”, as in some traditional forms of therapy, but just assessing what’s “present”. Perhaps, we need to rethink our culture around viewing bodies with a lens of shame and incorporate somatics into clinical practice alongside intellectual/ cognitive methods.

I wanted to do this episode for several reasons: I think knowledge is power. Yes, very School House Rock, but I think if you know better you can do better. My own experiences have weirded me out, and my friends and family who I have talk to about this express similar sentiments. My experience with working with people around difficult sexual problems including sexual entitlements. What is sexual entitlement and how does it fit into this conversation? Friends descriptions of their experiences. How this actually feels vs. the intended message. So... what's the conclusion of this? If you need help figuring out how to begin a relationship or social interactions with others, reach out for help!!! For instance, rather than saying in a DM, "Hey beautiful", then sending them a dick pic, you could say "Hey, I saw your profile and I saw you like ___. I like ___ too. What is your favorite thing about ___. This type of communication will typically get you farther than commenting on our bodies. Just like with catcalling, it does not make us feel flattered, it makes us feel afraid. This is sex. The podcast and I'm Erica Miley. So this is part two of my two part series about sex after divorce or the end of a long term relationship. So this episode is hutches a little bit back on what we talked about in part one. Erika: So if you feel the need to get part one gone back and listen to part one before you get the part. Miss episode focuses more on what you need to get more in touch with your body. Do you have a sex toy. Do Not Use lubricant. So here comes the episode I will see you yet Erika: Very very quick to get it right around with a side. It's the lead characters like you play very very quick on Google. Radio talk very quick as a member of the Erika: Welcome to Part Two about sex and divorced. I am excited that you're back listening to yet another so and so I one and go right in to these questions I'll kind of remind you of what we were talking about last time we were together. I was asking you questions about how. You get in touch with yourself sexually thing after divorce or a long term relationship. And let me just remind you. So what the first five with the bonus were. So figuring out who you are outside of our relationship. Number two do you connect with your body and your body yours. Number three how do you feel love and how do others communicate that to you. Can you verbalize or vocalize your own personal value. Number five. Last one was number four. Can you vocalize how you get turned on and then that last bit last time was the loving kindness meditation and using a tool like that to be able to engage in learning how to turn love to towards yourself and then also turning it outward toward other people now. Let's go to part two. So this would be number one. Part two of questions to ask yourself do you feel empowered to identify what you need to experience sexual pleasure. Now this is very similar to what I was saying about how do you tell someone else that you get how to get turned on. How do you feel the power within yourself to say white. Sexually. Do you have the ability to be able to say I like this but not that this is negotiable. This is non-negotiable. Do you have the power to be able to say that. Erika: Number two. Erika: And this i

Don't forget to subscribe, rate, and review on iTunes & GooglePlay! Today, we're talking about everyone favorite thing. Talking to your kids about sex, and I want to share 5 easy tips to make your job as a parent, a little simpler! Talking to your kids about sex is super uncomfortable, which is made even harder by the taboo in our society placed upon sex. Making sex ugly and shameful. Which is totally not true! Sex is a beautiful thing, really fun, and feels good. Not to mention that it helped create those joyful little ones we love more than ourselves! I also started a new little fun segment called, Ask a Sex Nerd! In this segment, I want to take the questions you ask on Facebook, Instagram, email, and however else you contact me, then answer those questions on the podcast. If you have a question you want answered (all anonymously!) Full show notes here: www.sextalkwitherika.com/7 Again, thanks for listening everyone! You make this podcast worth doing! Today’s episode is about sex and marijuana. More about Sex Talk with Erika Miley here: www.sextalkwitherika.com/5 We’ve got a great interview for you today with Chris Kelly who is a marijuana executive. We talk about marijuana research as it relates to sexuality. So just a heads up this episode is not only about one taboo topic but two. So this is a friendly disclaimer that I am not suggesting every person should use a controlled substance. This episode’s aim is to have a conversation around two topics that are difficult for many people to talk about. That being said, let’s have some fun, stay tuned till the end for some interesting resources. Join our Patreon: www.sextalkwitherika.com/patreon

In this episode, we get to talk about what it means to try the "butt stuff" or anal play or anal sex. Foreplay, Masturbation, Penetration, Oh my! Full show notes: www.sextalkwitherika.com/004 Join my Patreon: www.sextalkwitherika.com/patreon Consider the following things: Just like your genitals, learn what feels good, what works for you, and use lubricant. Start slowly! Communicate with your partner! I mentioned lubricants (we have no affiliation setup with these companies!): Yes! Yes! Yes! The partner who is being penetrated MUST be in control! Saying STOP is OK! You have to set ground rules for this experience! Here's some tips: No need for waxing, enemas, or pre-maintenance. Porn isn't real! It's a performance and not sex you would normally have with your partner! Small toys are great to start with! Breath! Don't forget to subscribe, rate, and review us on iTunes.
