It's 2023 and still only, like, one third of podcasts are hosted by women. Not sure about you, but here at The Pod Broads (https://www.poddraland.com/the-pod-broads-podcast) that is seen as some major BS. Join Alexandra Cohl as she interviews women in the podcasting industry about their life, their work, and how the two intersect -- because we're all multi-faceted human beings and women in this industry deserve to have their work and experiences highlighted in fun, deep, and reflective conversations. So, who is Alexandra? Well, she's been named a "typical misandrist American feminist" by trolls on the internet...

Rita speaks about transgenerational trauma, its impact specifically on Lao Americans, her experience living in both North Carolina and Los Angeles, and how one podcast episode became an unexpected catalyst for mending her relationship with her mother. Much of Rita's work stems from her professional experiences as a health practitioner and the ways in which she has studied transformative justice through other movements, like Black Lives Matter. On this episode, Alexandra interviews independent podcaster Lauren Williams. Lauren is the sole creator of the podcast and blog Imperfectly Phenomenal Woman where she gives space for women to challenge the limiting beliefs society may have taught them. Alexandra and Lauren discuss how Lauren found her voice and started her podcast after a beak up, how Lauren has begun to incorporate her faith into her recordings, how she deals with self-care and stress around social media and content creation, and more. Need some encouragement from some fellow women who are dedicated to getting other women heard? This is a great episode for that. CW: There is brief conversation around sexual abuse/assault trauma.
