#130 Becky Lucas: Preparing my newborn for open heart surgery
Becky Lucas is one of Australia's favourite comedians. She knows how to disarm a crowd with her endearing humour and quick wit as she tries to express how she really feels about the state of the world. In 2023 when Becky was pregnant, she went in for a routine scan and found out that her baby had a complex heart condition that would require open heart surgery. On top of the regular anxiety that follows the birth of a new baby, she was dealing with cardiologist appointments and constant fears about his health. Amongst the utter joy of getting to know her beautiful baby George, there were so many dark days where she didn’t feel like life could ever be good again. Since George underwent surgery, doctors have said his heart looks pristine and he's a happy and healthy, thriving baby. Becky will worry about him forever, as every parent does, but she's going to do her best to hold that anxiety in and let him live his life as a normal kid. The Curious Case of the Twisted Testicle
Ever heard of Slap Cheek? No, neither had we before this ep, but Oscar (Ash's son) has it. For those wondering, it's a viral infection caused by the human parvovirus B19, which means no daycare. DEVASTATING ! Matt's won worst uncle of the week after giving his nephew some pointers on the scooter, which led him to face planting and getting 3 stitches in hospital. Matt was then back in hospital with Marlie (his daughter) due to an upset tummy. Don't worry, it was just a telescopic intestine (nothing serious). The Great Zoo Swindle and a Tropical Ear Infection

Down and Dirty with a Bunch of Blokes in a Van
We've loved reading the DM's from listeners - especially from a particular individual who sends us voice messages of his farts each week. Shout out to Dylan! Matt's moved house, which meant he got to roll the sleeves up and get down and dirty with a bunch of blokes in the back of a van. Unfortunately this distracted him from the most important day of the year - Ash's birthday (which he forgot). To make matters worse for Ash, he left a poonami filled nappy in the top drawer of Macy's room, which was then cooked by the sun for the next few hours. He's also now planning a move as their house is more radioactive than Chernobyl. Daycare Drug Mules
Ash has resorted to morning frisk searches with Oscar to make sure he's not smuggling any contraband (toys) into daycare. Even with these elevated security measures, the little deviant is managing to get the good stuff out the door. Matt's realised he's become a top-shelf lame dad as he's started tracking his sleep with his watch. Wait it gets better.. he now tracks his heart rate during sex. Ash has a parenting hack (he's adamant it's a style and not a hack but it's definitely a hack) called competitive parenting, which he picked up from another doting dad. Shark-week in Fiji
Matt's just returned from his honeymoon, which was on a beautiful tropical island in Fiji. The only problem? It was the time of the month for Laura, Marlie got conjunctivitis and Lola was attacked by mosquitoes. What's the number benefit of having kids? Pretending they're sick to get out of social events.
