In this episode, I was joined by Keith, aka KO_Ninja , one of the co-founders of the Hyde Park Ninjas. KO has been playing Upland since January 2022, after being introduced to the platform by fellow co-founder Sckicker, whom I chatted with in the last episode of this series. Upland Metaverse: EMBRACING THE NEXT WORLD!!! || WEB3 || P2E || UPLAND || METAVERSE || NFTCOMMUNITY
In this episode, I was joined by Jsawyer, one of the co-founders of the upcoming Next World platform being built for the Upland Metaverse. J has been playing Upland since late 2019, becoming an official Uplander in February 2020, and he’s maintained a slow and steady growth of his account since. That’s all starting to change as Next World begins to take shape however, and it presents quite a paradox with my own Upland journey, where I started off big and have recently dialled my engagement levels way back. In this episode, I was joined by Laban , who has been a highly active and engaged member and supporter of the Upland community since joining way back in November 2020. Laban has pretty much been involved in and seen it all as Upland has continued to grow and develop since then, from humble beginnings as an FSA agent in Fresno working with established players (including myself), to having some epic USD flips and striving towards, and succeeding in, getting his account into the green ‘playing with house money’ status, which is a goal for many players (myself included). Laban has gone on to be a huge supporter of many Upland broadcasters and various node projects, including Lone Mountain in San Francisco and his recent move to residential status in Midtown Terrace. He’s also a metaventure owner, operating the ‘Graveyard Goods’ map assets business, from which he produces and sells a range of terrifyingly affordable gravestones that are guaranteed to help bring your properties to life—or death—while not horrifying you financially. Upland Metaverse: COSME VELHO COMMUNITY MEMBER || WEB3 || P2E || UPLAND || METAVERSE || NFTCOMMUNITY
In this episode, I was joined by QAPM , who is another member of the Upland Australian community—well, kind of. QAPM has been actively involved in Upland since back in the Fresno days, spending time navigating the platform fairly independently before moving more and more into collaborative community engagement. That has led to him becoming one of the most active and engaged members of the Cosme Velho Node community in the Upland Metaverse, helping to establish and continue to develop the Rio neighbourhood towards the goal of reaching Neighbourhood Collection status. We spoke about that journey, of course, as well as his perspectives on Upland’s development and role within the wider WEB3 sector, and its own trajectory. We also discussed his personal history as a quasi-Australian, having been born in the United States but spending many of his formative years living and exploring his hometown at heart, Sans Souci in Sydney. Upland Metaverse: UGC - ACE COLLECTABLES || WEB3 || P2E || UPLAND || METAVERSE || NFTCOMMUNITY
In this episode, I was joined by fellow Australian ACE696 , who happens to live not far north of me here in Queensland. And that’s not where our similarities end. We both got into crypto around the same time and had similar adventures in that sector, we both stumbled into Upland, and we’ve both made active community engagement and UGC map asset content creation one of our main personal hobbies. Which, as we both agree, isn’t a ‘normal’ sort of thing to do for blokes of our age and backgrounds. In this episode, I was super thankful to be joined by Detech , who jumped in at the last minute to cover this weekend’s show slot. Detech is someone who probably needs no introduction, having been an extremely successful and widely respected Upland community member for several years now, particularly for his insane skills and attention to detail in 3D User Generated Content creation. Detech has won numerous 3D asset construction competitions over the years. He has dozens of map assets, structure ornaments, karts, and wearables available in Upland, and he was, of course, the winner of the Creator of the Year Award as part of Genesis Week 2024. Beyond all of that, he’s also a husband, father, master entertainer, and widely skilled home renovator, all of which I personally respect and appreciate on top of his jaw-dropping Blender skills. I managed to drag him away from all of that for a while today, and of course from the final creation of his ‘Ivory Rising’ building series he’s currently working on for winning the Upland Genesis Design Challenge 2024. In this episode, I was joined by Mesmee , who is a node manager of the Sunrise Neighborhood in Las Vegas, as part of the Dynamic Node Builders team. Personally, far more important than that to me, though, Mesmee is someone from the Upland Community that I’ve gotten to know quite well over the last couple of years, and I’ve always admired her no-nonsense attitude. She’s someone who can always be relied on to give her honest opinions on events, and I’ve very much appreciated the support she’s given me behind the scenes on a couple of key occasions. Today, we touched on some of that, of course. We dove into her journey into Upland from May 2021 and what she’s currently focused on nowadays, both individually and as a node manager.
