Let me tell y'all a secret; did you know that every state has an unclaimed property website where you can search for any monies owed to you?  

Yes, chile,  it’s not fraud, it's legal!  Each state by law requires Financial institutions, insurance companies businesses, and other entities to report and submit their customer's “property” to the state Comptroller‘s office when there is a credit balance or been no activity for some time on an account and a refund is owed. 

Some forms of unclaimed property include credit balances from bank accounts, stocks, bonds, uncashed checks, insurance benefits, wages, safe deposit box contents, etc.
