Pause and Practice exercises are opportunities to stop and practice centering the mind, grounding the body, and engaging mindful awareness of the present. The exercises are built with attention to research on the benefits of mindfulness and meditation for the support of holistic mental health. They are also informed by existing spiritual practices (ex. centering prayer, Vipassanā) from a variety of different faiths and philosophies. The exercises are recorded and produced by Andrew Bertram, a Registered Clinical Counsellor in British Columbia, Canada. You can find him at andrewbertram.ca Hosted on Acast. A body scan meditation is a helpful tool for practicing mindfulness (focusing the mind on the present). As with all the Pause & Practice recordings, these exercises are just that - opportunities to pause in the midst of inner and outer chaos and practice resting the mind and body. Meditation and mindfulness do not always feel safe if you are a survivor of trauma. If you experience distress during these exercises, please reach out to a qualified mental health provider for support. Choice is nice when it comes to meditation recordings, so there is a separate recording of this exercise without music. Enjoy, Andrew Bertram RCC, MAMFT Hosted on Acast.
