Repent! In our modern western Christianity this word is often treated like it is profanity and yet the Prophets, John the Baptist, Jesus, and the early church all preached repentance with believing the Gospel. Repentance is the missing link in much preaching/teaching today! In the episode, Ken and Skylar discuss the central role of repentance in true freedom from addiction. You can be free but you must come to Jesus on His terms. Today we discuss bold strategies for those who are bound by addiction. The drug epidemic headlines tout “Harm Reduction” for those addicted as an answer. This is a type of “comfort care” until their “hopeless” addiction takes its ultimate toll. The Word of God provides a much better solution for those in the depths of addiction: the resurrection power of Christ. Jesus still sets the captives free and at Outreach Ministries of Alabama (and many other Christ Centered programs) we can produce so many stories of men and women who have conquered addiction by His mighty power! We may think we’re helping them and that we do what we do out of love.
