Hey y'all! Welcome to Jungle June 2024! We're starting off this month with some Zoboomafoo! Misty grew up watching this show and I...didn't. Once we found out that Misty had seen something that I hadn't well, we just had to watch it and talk about it! I'm surprised I never watched this show considering how much I enjoyed informative shows like this, and the fact that it has to do with animals and I listened to every word Steve Irwin had to say. It would explain a lot about my approach to animals, and Misty's reluctance to let me near any of them. The Kratt Brothers do a great job at teaching their viewers about animals, animal safety, their habitats, etc. I might just have to binge watch this entire show in my 30s.

Hey y'all! Our brave heroes have had it rough. As soon as they reached Shady Creek Run they were attacked by Dragonborn, and Valkaria realized that the key to the city that her father gave her, is gone. They, along with the rest of the villagers of Shady Creek Run, make a run towards the river to avoid the burning city. Our heroes are tired, wounded, at a loss for what comes next. But, at least they have each other. And surprisingly, Althindrin is keeping an eye in the sky on them. We narrowly avoid getting seen by a group of Dwindalian Empire Knights, and slowly figure out what the next steps are. It's never a dull moment with our heroes of The Nameless City, and a chaotic Goose.

We've won some prizes, we've made some "friends", we've partaken in more tournaments and wowed the audience as Jaz'Zara shows them all what a real ranger can do. Not only that, but Valkaria gets to go on her first date! And let's not forget the magically imbued ring that Valkaria commissions from Qwak. Magic that is hit or miss at best, and either flings Valkaria towards her staff, or hurls the staff to her. Magic - what can you do? Speaking of magic, Valkaria begins to understand the extent of her magic as she nearly takes out our beloved Asha during a maze. And clearly, Asha will wreak her vengeance. Festivities and prizes and drinks aside, our trio encounters some disturbing scenes; broken lanterns, blood, a body (maybe more). What sinister plots have our trio gotten themselves tangled up into this time?

Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century
Hey, y'all! Zedis lapedis! Have you heard the most stellar news? It's your turn to be a Supernova Girl! That's right, Proto Zoa is coming to the Wyndham Space Station and one lucky winner will be chosen! That means Zenon Kar will have to be on her best behavior and stay out of trouble. Already on thin ice with her parents and the Commander, Zenon just needs to lie low for a few days. But when she accidently stumbles into a plot to destroy her home, Zenon just can't help herself. Honestly, as a 30-something year old re-watching this film, I am consumed by a sense of awe and dread at the same time. Awe because we, as a people and a generation, had such high hopes for our future. Dread because of how far we haven't come. Zenon lives in 2049 out in a space station (the movie was released in 1999)...it's 2024, and all we've done is launch a car into space blasting music, just adding more junk into space. Doom and gloom aside, the nostalgia was real when watching this film. Proto Zoa is hot as ever.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Tis the season to be jolly....or so they say. "Blast this Christmas music! It's joyful and triumphant." "If you utter so much as one syllable, I'LL HUNT YOU DOWN AND GUT YOU LIKE A FISH! I like Christmas because I receive presents...but it's not MY holiday (My/me being Ani). I don't loathe the holiday, unlike a certain green someone, but sometimes it gets close; Like when Christmas music starts playing as soon as we enter November and Mariah Carey defrosts. We aren't the only ones who get bogged down by the stress and chaos of Christmas so this week we are bringing you the grumpiest Whovian to ever Who....I just realized that the Whovians of Whoville and Dr. who fans have the same name and....that kinda checks out tbh. Hey, y'all! Christmas time is here, and that means we're getting in the holiday spirit with rapid gunfire, explosions, hostage situations, involving the LAPD and FBI, and one big heist. You guessed it, its the ultimate Christmas movie: Die Hard! Johnn McClane just wants to see his wife and kids for the holidays and hopefully patch up their marriage. Instead he ends up having to save the late night denizens of Nakatomi Plaza as they enjoy their company holiday party. International robbers, excessive use of gunfire, horrible play acting at the front desk, and impressive hacking skills are not match for John McClane, NYPD, and one LAPD cop that was down on his luck. And let's not forget the newbie limo driver rocking out in the garage with an oversized teddy bear that comes to the rescue at just the right time, Get in the holiday spirit with us as we foray into the world of John McClane and saving the world!

If you recall, we mentioned the budge for Velocipastor - another film of epic stupidity - was $35k. It need not have been. But the budget for this film was $3500. Gauranteed the 2k of that budget went to the turkey puppet. The rest of the budget, I'm sure, went to the pornstar at the very beginning of the film. The Nameless City: The Fine Line Between Diplomacy and War
Hey y'all! Welcome back to another Nameless City adventure! Our friends find themselves on a ship-fort (literally 3 giant ships tied together to create a village) called Vurmas, and met with not so friendly glares. Unused to hostility when met, Valkaria, Jaz'Zara, and Asha are uncomfortable and confused to say the least. While Asha spends most of her time with the fort healer, Jaz and Val walk on eggshells as they peruse the fort, with guards at their heels at every turn. Our trio gets a rude awakening into how the surface works, and the realization that the location of their home is not met with the regular niceties they're used to.

One Year Anniversary: The Interview

Hey y'all! What happens when you cross what is supposed to be a cheerful holiday with a twist of horror? You get, Krampus. Krampus is said to be St. Nicholas's shadow. The two work together, visiting children at night. While the good children get a visit from Santa, the bad/naughty children get a visit from Krampus, receive a beating with birch rods, tossed into a basket, and are dragged to the underworld. That's some incentive to be good year round. You can hear Krampus coming with the jingle of his bells and chains - charming. While I wouldn't mind a trip to the Underworld (because I'm unhinged, I'm sure the sane population wouldn't want to experience that, as a review of how they've behaved all year. Anyways, we spend the first hour running amuck in the Ministry of Magic where, mind you, the entrance is flushing yourself down a toilet, and the rest of our time on a camping trip that far exceeds my willingness to go without steady shelter and indoor plumbing. Our team has officially made it to the surface: Asha has gained a beautiful shield called The Moon's Defense, and Valkaria has found herself a shiny that is in tune with her shadow magic. Our first night on the surface has already started off on an interesting note, with lots of snoring, poking, and hissing. As our party continues on, they come across a small winter town and put their skills to the test to help these people with whatever they can: Valkaria and her politics, Asha and her healing, Jaz'Zara and her vast knowledge of weapons and battle. We hope you've enjoyed our spooktacular Halloween episodes as a fun treat in honor of our favorite time of year (and my favorite holiday - yes Samhain is a holiday) For our first year we decided to close out the spooky fun with one of my favorite films, and probably now a film that Misty never wants to see again; and that's saying something, coming from the queen of bad movies! We got caught with a flat, made it up to lab to see what's on the slab, did the time warp (well, I did, and Misty continually lost brain cells), had some serious questions and concerns about how the 5-minute-old-mummy-ink-man -- that could very well be a squib relative of the Malfoy's -- knows who Damocles is, and much more! Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince: Part 2
Hey y'all! We're back and finishing up our sixth year at Hogwarts, a school that needs some serious changes in its child safety regulations. Speaking of safety regulations, a funeral memorial for a giant spider that tried to EAT Harry, Ron, and their Ford Anglia, while the two supervising adults (and I use that term loosely) get smashed, is a little sus. Meanwhile, Harry is high as a kite and could have very possibly OD'd on Liquid Luck because he drank the whole thing without researching how this liquid works. Is it in doses? Is it supposed to be taken in one gulp? When he "pretended" to add some Felix Felicis in Ron's drink before Quidditch try-outs, he put in a few drops. What is the correct dosage? Why did Hermione not scour every book and resource for the answer? Clearly we have some major concerns. Again: see lack of child safety regulations. P.S. If I have to hear Lavender Brown call Ron, "Won-won" one more time, I may actually puke. While Ron and Lavender may not be the worst of the relationships in this series, they are definitely the most annoying; at least Lavender is.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince: Part 1
Hey y'all! We're back for more adventures with Harry and his friends as we enter year six, and all the shit that Dumbydikes puts this child through. Not to mention that as Dumbydikes takes Harry to visit Professor Slughorn (who, mind you, collects people) to convince him to teach Potions at Hogwarts that year, and Harry is the dangly piece of meat to lure Slughorn to say yes. This is also the funniest of all the HP movies, solely for the fact that as shit gets darker and creepier and builds to the final battle against Voldemort and his groupies, the sheer random interactions and conversations that take place are just so out of left field, but also perfectly depict how reality works.

Hey Y'all, We've survived detention with forced blood magic while secretly practicing actual defense against the dark arts. But will we survive a real fight against adult Death Eaters, in gods know where within the Ministry of Magic (that has what the movies don't show you, giant brains with tentacles that attack), along with suffering Snapes brutal lessons at Occlumency and Dumbledore's continued avoidance? However, the fact that truly unspeakable things have been done to Umbridge after she gets abducted into the Forbidden Forest is a high point for me. Use your imagination, make it horrid, and I will be laughing with glee. Umbridge smacking Harry in the face and seeing Snape trying to reign in both his appreciation that someone finally smacked the child he loathes and his anger that someone got to smack Harry before he could. Because you know he's been wanting to do just that for years.

Now, we will see if we can survive not bleeding to death during detention for having the audacity to breathe in front of, as Misty so eloquently put it, "If you could take the American Education System and turn it into a person, you would get Umbridge". P.S. The beginning of this episode takes so many turns, it left me dizzy. But in the best sense. "Our dream was dead before we hit elementary school." 'We had no hope. Welcome to The Nameless City: Session 0
Welcome everyone, to the Underdark. Deep below the surface of Exandria, we find a world unto its own known as the Underdark. In a pocket of tunnels and caverns separated from the mass of tunnels weaving throughout the Underdark, we find The Nameless City. After escaping the Calamity on the surface, a savage war between gods and surface folk, 5 families fled below ground and created what we now know as The Nameless City. A blossoming world where tieflings, dhampir, drow, deep gnomes, and durgar all live happily and safe from those who wish to conquer them and do them harm, thanks to the creation of a device that brought all 5 races and families together. Join us as we explore the city and the Underdark with 3 charming, devious, adventurous, and impulsive characters played by Misty, Ani, and Erin (with more characters/players to come), and experience a whole new world of fantasy and shenanigans. It is Ani and Erin's first time playing Dungeons and Dragons, and Misty's first time as Dungeon Master. We've created a homebrew campaign and can't wait to see what adventures we are faced with as we continue this campaign. For the Nameless City!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: Part 2
Hey Yall! There is a reason the wizarding world has not had a TriWizard tournament since 1792. Put aside the fact that CHILDREN are competing in this high-stakes tournament (all for the sake of glory and fame) while they collectively lose their minds with a dragon only meters away that could wipe them out with one well-timed tail whip, contestants have died. Repeatedly. I'm sorry, but what is the point of letting some sentient goblet decide which names thrown into its fire are the best of the best of the magical world, only to have them die, and their talent with them? 10/10 believe the goblet likes trolling the wizarding world. Forget artificial intelligence in the muggle world; bewitched inanimate objects are far worse. Poor Cedric Diggory. Everything went downhill for him as soon as he was chosen. A good person and wizard, playing fair and wanting the charade of child endangerment to end in a tie for Hogwarts, and what does he get? Killed. That's what he gets. And, unfortunately, later turned into a sparkly vampire with extremely toxic behavioral traits. Let's not forget that MadEye Moody was an imposter the entire time. However, I will say that for someone who wanted to defeat the good in the world for his master, Barty Crouch Junior was a great teacher. He didn't have to be that hands-on and forceful with the students to hammer home what evils are out in the world and how to combat them, but he did. Nor did he have to become a mentor-like figure to Neville. But I digress. Tune in and enjoy the show as we close out our fourth year at Hogwarts!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: Part 1
Hey, y'all! We're back with more magic, adventure, and concerns for the well-being of children! Underage gambling, child endangerment competitions for the entertainment of the masses, drinking polyjuice potion like its water, grooming and manipulating children to gain their trust in order to infiltrate the institution. There's a lot going on in our fourth year at Hogwarts. Don't get us started on how the movies turned some badass coed schools into one-gender-only schools. I, for one, would love to see the girls at Durmstrang duke it out with some Hogwarts students: especially Pansy Parkinson. That girl deserves a good walloping. I will admit, that the beginning of this book/movie, with the Quidditch World Cup, is probably one of my favorite scenes of all time in this series. Just seeing the characters be human, having fun, cheering on for their sport, fangirling over their favorite players, etc was refreshing. However, if the Ministry can take the time and effort to enchant and mind fuck the masses of muggles from entering these campgrounds, they could have done a better job at protecting Hogwarts the previous year! Cmon now. Clearly, no one cares for the well-being of students in the UK.

Birthdays are Better with Dragons!
Hey y'all! Our very own Misty has turned 30! We've all officially left our youth behind and entered our truly adulting years. It's a sad day when you realize just how far away your childhood seems. But! We celebrate with cakes and ice cream and stories and, a new twist, Dungeons and Dragons! That's right, Misty and I (and Erin) have officially started our very first ever DnD campaign and we can't wait to share our shenanigans and chaos with you all. Misty leads our adventures as our daring Dungeon Master (and player) and y'all get to witness us be more foolish than usual. It's a win/win A very Happy (yet bittersweet) Birthday to our Dr. MAD. Hey y'all! This week's theme is powerful happy memories to ward off the evil creepy floating holey bed sheets that want to suck your soul. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm having a hard time trying to find a memory that happy and strong that could ward off a hoard of dementors, let alone sustain a full Patronus, on a good day. Listen, as a millennial who's survived one too many world events in less than half a century, finding a happy enough memory amidst all that trauma is hard. Let's not forget we have individual trauma to muck through trying to find a happy enough memory. Maybe, just maybe, if I'd gotten my Hogwarts letter and got to live in a world full of MAGIC, finding such memories would be easier. Just saying. Don't worry, there's more to be discussed than (a lack of) happy memories. Like shoutout to the Best Boys who worked on this movie!

Hey y'all! We're back with more dangerous and life threatening adventures of just turned teen Harry and his friends (because Dumbledore doesn't give a crap how old his test subjects are) as we find out more clues about dear old Voldemort and how to destroy him. In our 3rd year at Hogwarts we are introduced to Hippogriffs, prideful creatures, but Hagrid is a big softie (don't blame him) and thinks a level 7 magical creature is the best way to introduce his hands on class learning. But hey, so does Lupin, with a bogart, a creature that morphs into your biggest fear. What better way to teach kids to relive their trauma in front of all their classmates? No? Not for you? Not for me either. On top of all that, we've got a killer on the loose! Hunting Harry (shocker). Who is that you may ask? That's Sirius Black that is! But I wont spoil it all for you here. Tune in and journey with us as we have serious concerns about the safety of these students and the standards of this school as the year go on and just get more dangerous. P.S. Apples are involved. Everyone thinks Harry, mister chosen one, is the one behind the attacks because, gasp, he can speak to snakes (which he wasn't even aware of, mind you!) On top of it all, we're dealing with decades of a murder cover up story that could have easily been solved with some Veritaserum. I digress. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone: Part 2
Hey y'all! We've come to entertain you once again with more magic and mystery and overall confusion when it comes to how children are managed and cared for at Hogwarts. Enter Fred Weasley: Honestly people, you call yourselves our fans... (Beyond a legit explanation, Fred is the superior twin. I don't know why but he is so don't come at me (us) about it.) Three 11 year old children have made it past the obstacles guarding the sorcerer's stone which, in all honesty, seemed as if they were perfectly designed for each child in mind. Think about it; the devil's snare requires herbology knowledge that only Hermione would know: catching the winged keys and Harry is the best seeker the school has seen in centuries; and a most daring game of wizard's chess that only Ron could pull off. Are you not convinced that Dumbledore (aka Dumbydikes) knew these kids would go looking for trouble and curated these tasks specifically? Are you not convinced that Dumby should not be in charge of children? Are you not convinced that the head Mugwump is an absolute loony and overall dickhead? If you answer is yes, then congratulations, you have common sense! If you answer is no, then pray tell, what went wrong in your learning years that you don't see it? I implore you, continue listening to get a clearer image of Albus and his shenanigans as we dive deeper into the world of witchcraft and wizardry at Hogwarts. The time has come. We officially begin our journey into the world of Harry Potter; the boy who lived. Call it the sorcerer's stone, the philosopher's stone, the red rock of doom, but whatever you call it, it's still the same shite. An 11 year old boy who has grown up in the muggle world, albeit poorly, is thrust into a world of magic and wonder and danger. Everyone knows who he is, what he's done, his entire backstory. Meanwhile this kid is trying to figure out what his life has turned into overnight after a giant snatched him away. Honestly if that was me, I'd need about a week or two of alone time in my dormitory to let it all sink in and adjust. Not go chasing after trolls and giant 3 headed dogs. You all know the story. We love this series and this world (not the writer) but we still have a lot of opinions to share with you all. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride! (P.S. Y'all, we have reached the final episode of the Twilight saga and suffice to say we are as excited as Aro is whenever he's around Alice. Creepy, yes, but the joy is the same. Bella is finally a vampire, we have a creep CGI baby in the works now, and apparently two attempts at trying to hone a new skill is not enough effort for vampires. Anyways, we've made it to the final battle between the Cullen's (and their their friends) against the Volturi. A battle that should have been epic, but like everything else involving this series/world, was just plain old disappointing. Our commentary about it, however, is not.
