By the late 2000s, Henry shifted music to the back burner and turned his efforts to secure a position in law enforcement. He qualified and graduated from the Metro Nashville Police Academy in 2010 just a few weeks shy of his 41st birthday – the oldest rookie in the class. He quickly rose from patrol to a FLEX unit and Crime Suppression Unit before landing a spot on the Gang Unit that would permanently change his career projection. During his second week on the Gang Unit, while trying to apprehend a fleeing suspect, Henry’s leg was broken in several places and his ankle sustained severe injuries. In Episode 31, Korby Lenker dives into all he has going on from music to being a creator and star of a new scripted web series. Korby and I enjoyed hanging out in the West End area and talking about his story. Korby continues to take the definition of ‘independent creative’ and push it forward. He’s long been a heavy-touring, award-winning singer-songwriter; two years ago he added ‘published author’ to his resume, and now, as creator and star of a new scripted web series called MORSE CODE, Korby doesn’t just play his guitar, he becomes it. Lenker recorded his latest batch of songs in his native Idaho, in various places important to him as a child – the Snake River Canyon, Craters of the Moon, and in a small cabin north of Sun Valley. Letting the natural landscape set the tone, he recorded during the day and slept in a tent at night. The result, Thousand Springs, earned, among other accolades, a 4 star review from MOJO Magazine, who dubbed his effort “Scintillating songwriting from a travellin’ man.” Shout out from Korby: Favorite Local Non Profits: Pet Community Center Favorite Restaurant: Dino’s You can connect with Korby Lenker: Korby Lenker Vimeo Facebook Instagram Local nonprofit of the month Community Care Fellowship , A Door To Hope , Save Haven Homeless Shelter Musical Guest: Korby Lenker Sponsors for the Podcast Me….Andrew Buckwalter @ BuckwalterImpactGroup of Benchmark Realty</a

In Episode 29, Granville Automatic’s duo Vanessa Olivarez and Elizabeth Elkins join me in the Rambler and share some of their stories as well as some Nashville history! Led by a modern-day Linda Ronstadt, Granville Automatic writes songs the Associated Press calls “haunting tales of sorrow and perseverance.” they have created a one-of-a-kind sound that revolves around their passion for storytelling. The duo, comprised of Nashville songwriters Vanessa Olivarez and Elizabeth Elkins, is named after a 19th-century typewriter. In November of 2018, Granville Automatic released RADIO HYMNS, a 13-track concept record mining Nashville’s lost history from the two wives of city founder Timothy Demonbreun to the day in 1974 that the Ryman Auditorium was saved from the wrecking ball. Elkins and Olivarez self-produced the record, using some longtime Granville players and some of Nashville’s legendary studio musicians (and studios). The album rocks and rolls, haunts and soars, and pays true homage to the mystery of Music City. We had a great time hanging out and listening to them go back and forth was pretty fun. Their differences make them great and entertaining. Enjoy their stories and learning a bit of Nashville history! In 2015, she was accepted into a life changing program called the “GPS Project” by ASCAP where she participated in a year long program where she met with 12 music industry publishers like Sony ATV, Warner Chappell, and Universal Music Group. In Episode 3, Joel Anderson with Anderson Design Group shares his story! Today Joel Anderson joins me in The Rambler near Centennial Park. Joel is the owner of Anderson Design Group. In 1993, Joel and his friend David Thomas founded Anderson Thomas Design, Inc.
