Scripture References: “For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ" (2 Corinthians 2:15a). “So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army” (Ezekiel 37:10). “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ; according to His great mercy He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3). For the past forty days Christians around the world have observed lent as they prepared their hearts for the celebration of Christ’s resurrection. It was in Antioch in the book of Acts (chapter 11:26) that the disciples were first called Christians because they were Christlike. The data from the 2011 Pew Research stated that a comprehensive demographic study of more than 200 countries found that there were 2.18 billion Christians of all ages around the world. These 2.18 billion Christians represent nearly a third of the estimated 2010 global population of 6.9 billion. It’s 2025 and that number is more around the world. Resurrection Sunday or Easter as it is called is the foundation of faith for Christians. Without Christ’s resurrection Christians all around the world have no hope of a relationship with Jesus Christ. In fact, without Jesus’s resurrection there is no basis of a faith in the Almighty God. The resurrection authenticates a believer’s faith in God, just as the scriptures states and explains. The resurrected life we celebrate during Easter is all about transformation; from dying, to burial and to resurrection. Every believer that has experienced the new life in Christ is a living witness and testimony to the transformative power of God. This is why observing lent is powerful for everyone that has been born again through the Spirit of God. Understanding the ultimate sacrifice Jesus made on our behalf so we can have a relationship with God is life altering. The wonderment of the power of transformation is fascinating. It is Jesus sacrifice that makes our resurrected life possible as His followers, who adore and worship Him. The resurrection is what makes transformation a reality in the life of a follower of Christ. In this special episode of Oasis of Hope podcast, Drs. Johnson and Feyi Obamehinti share what the resurrected life means to each of them. From two different backgrounds, they each know firsthand the incredible change that happens in the life of anyone that invites Jesus Christ as Savior and LORD. They know firsthand that the resurrected life is a daily relationship with the King of Kings who daily loads them with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3 ). Happy East

In this special Lean Into Lent episode 87 of Oasis of Hope, Drs. Johnson and Feyi Obamehinti give a shoutout to family values with another local couple that has been married for seventy years from listener feedback! The couple have three children, seven grand-children and fourteen great-grand-children. Let's add this to the tapestry of hallmarks of family values celebrations! Lent started March 5, 2025 and will run through April 17, 2025, with Easter celebration on Sunday, April 20, 2025. Jesus taught His disciples how to pray by giving them a template to follow every time they approach God the Father. The Lord's Prayer gives us that framework as we observe Lent- the special period that precedes Easter. Right after Jesus was baptized, the Spirit of God descended and rested on Jesus Christ. This encounter empowered Jesus for the days that followed as He was led into the wilderness for 40 days of prayer and fasting (Matthew 4:1-11) . These 40 days are observed all over the world by many Christians during what we call Lent that provides us with the time to focus on what matters the most- a deeper relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, that releases the power of God through intentional times of prayer, fasting, and worship. During Lent followers of Christ have the opportunity to join hearts with other believers globally to cover the 10/40 Window in prayer. This specific area of the world has the largest unreached people groups. Our understanding as followers of Christ on this specific area of the world is paramount to an effective prayer according to James 5:16b. We encourage followers of Christ to commit to praying for one of the 10/40 Window nations during these 40 days of Lent, our God will hear and release an avalanche of His love and power to save, deliver and heal His people. Additional prayer requests during this time is a focus on reformation of God's church in doctrine, theology, and the awe of God. As we walk through Lent, let us turn our eyes upon Jesus and look full into His wonderful face. We will find that the angst of this world will grow strangely dim, and the light of God’s glory and grace will be multiplied upon our lives. With that fullest of God’s light in us, we will welcome Easter on April 20, 2025 with the resurrection power that breathes new life to all things. Scripture invitation to join in Lent: "The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life" (Revelation 22:17, NIV).

God gives us a template of His love of how much He loves His creation through His plan of redemption- “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but haveeverlasting life” (John 3:16). The month of February we get to celebrate love with Valentine’s Day and Black History all month. We are celebrating Loveuary - as we celebrate love and Black History Month. In this episode 86 of Oasis of Hope Podcast, Drs. Johnson and Feyi Obamehinti discuss the contributions of African Americans to the robust culture we have today. Our nation has been blessed with the notable contributions of all people to this great nation – United States of America. We have reiterated many times, each history of every people, kindred and tongues is American History. As we celebrate Black History, Asian History, Hispanic History, Native American History, Jewish History and many more histories, we are celebrating American History. As we celebrate Black History this month, we are highlighting some of thenotable inventions that are now part of our culture and lifestyle. One major standout in celebrating Black History this month is family values. Adding this critical aspect is important as we celebrate family values. Albert Brown and Marie Van Brittan Brown - a husband-and-wife team, invented the home security system in 1966. They were granted patent for their invention of closed circuitTV security system in 1969. This invention formed the foundation of video monitoring that included the remote door locks, push button alarm triggers and two way voice communication. Their invention also led to CCTV surveillance in public areas. In 2016, it was reported that over 100 million concealed closed-circuit cameras are operating world-wide. We have the Browns to thank for every home security system we have today. Another genius is Benjamin Banneker who invented the first functioning wooden clock in 1753. Theclock kept accurate time and struck every hour. We have Banneker to thank for those wooden clocks we see all around us today. Setting a gold standard for family values are Mr. and Mrs. Cleovis and Arwilda Whiteside - African American couple that were married for 84 years old. Mr. Cleovis Whiteside passed on to heaven last year, 2023 at age 102 years old with Mrs. Arwilda Whiteside at 98 yearsold at the time of his passing. According to the American Community Survey (ACS), in 2018, stated in their

Our team count it a blessing getting to serve you through Oasis of Hope Podcast. All the requests we have received for prayer lets us know the need among God’s people. We encourage every follower of Christ, to stand in the gap for the many needs of the hour. In this episode 85 of Oasis of Hope Podcast, , Drs. Johnson and Feyi Obamehinti answer the question on what to do in a situation that looks like an intentional attack or smear campaign by someone you love. The scriptures provide a guide in all life situations so that no matter the situation, followers of Christ can live out a life that brings honor and glory to God! The command of having the foundation of love is critical in addressing this mistreatment and wickedness. In 1 Corinthian 16:14, “Let all that you do, be done in love” ensures having a pure and open heart so that God can work on your behalf because He is the God of justice. DARVO (Deny, Attack, and Reverse, Victim and Offender)- is a tactic that is used against any form of whistleblowing, confrontation, or accountability. This is a reverse role of victim and offender, so that the perpetrator assumes the role of victim and turns the real victim or whistle blower into the alleged offender. We live in a fallen world and it is certain that followers of Christ will encounter people that abuse their power, place, authority, position, access or influence. DARVO is a reaction from perpetrators or abusers for being confronted or call for accountability. Some of the rationale of DARVO towards the whistle-blower is to attack credibility, reputation and sanity of the target under attack of whistle blowing or retaliation. It is important to be empowered and equipped to adequately address any form of DARVO. Let us be reminded that as an ambassador of Christ, the scriptures call each believer to a higher standard of living for God’s glory. “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it” --- Proverbs 4:23, NIV

Commemorating the Last Supper Jesus Christ had with His twelve disciples is a holy observation by millions of Christians around the world. As scriptures instruct, commemorating this special time is done with carefulness and intentionality. In 2 Corinthians 13:5 ( Examine your selves to see whether you are in the faith; test your selves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test? ), there are elements of self-reflection, self-awareness and self- regulation to ensure the Lord’s Supper is taken with deep reverence by followers of Christ. Some Christians, also know this special time as the Eucharist, the Lord’s Table, Table of Communion or Holy Communion. The Table of Communion symbolizes Jesus ultimate sacrifice on the cross to redeem humanity from eternal separation from God. Communion is a two-way street-our communion with God and communion with each other. Before taking a listen to this podcast, we encourage you to gather your communion elements (crackers and juice) and join into take communion at the end of the podcast. As followers of Christ, everything we do is through the lenses of eternity, and elections are not different. In this episode, Drs. Johnson and Feyi Obamehinti encourage Christians to approach these upcoming elections with carefulness and do their homework. Some things for Christians to think about as they prepare themselves are: (1) Pray for everyone (2 Chronicles 7:14, Proverb 14:34, 1 Timothy 2:1-2). (2) Respect for each other – no matter if a person is red, blue, in-between or none. (3) Refuse to hop on the hatred wagon no matter who the instigating leader is. (4) Study the candidates and determine your values, belief, conscience etc. (5) Above all else, remember we are Christ’s ambassadors foremost (salt and light). “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” – 2 Chronicle 7:14

The 2024 Summer Olympics was highly watched around the world. With one sport or the other as a favorite, the Olympics is a source of inspiration for young and old alike. Congratulations to all teams from around the world, representing their countries. The USA team came back with a total of 126 medals- 40 Gold, 44 Silver and 42 Bronze! For followers of Christ, there are some lessons to glean from the Olympics. In fact, the Bible uses sports as an analogy of how Christians are to live their lives. 1 Corinthians 9:24-25, states , "Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receives the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that strive for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible." In this episode, Drs. Johnson and Feyi Obamehinti encourage followers of Christ with three key lessons from the Olympics. Walking with God requires discipline to stay deeply committed to Christ, so we can represent Christ well. It's time for followers of Christ to stand up and be counted for the Kingdom of God! The last few weeks have had many heads turning about the state of the church - aka the Body of Christ. The secular world took a dive into the credibility of the church as a whole. In this episode 77 of Oasis of Hope focused on the state of the church, Drs. Johnson and Feyi Obamehinti, answer some of the key questions asked in the wake of the recent unravelings in the church. The credibility of the gospel stands and is unshaken because of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. From a Biblical perspective, they discuss and answer the questions on abuse, culture and NDAs in the Body of Christ. Their hope and prayer is that this episode will spur more followers of Christ to stand in the gap of prayer for our communities, churches and families. "Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil" (Matthew 6:9-13).

In the past ten years we have seen the rise of antisemitism across the world. Historians have credited antisemitism as the root cause of the atrocious Holocaust against Jews. This hatred was the belief system of the Nazi ideology. The Holocaust was the systematic, government launched target, persecution, brutal mistreatment, gassing, deadly living conditions and killings of six million European Jews between 1933 and 1945 (Holocaust Encyclopedia). For many survivors of the Holocaust living through such dehumanization came at a high price for them and their families. In this special episode, Drs. Johnson & Feyi Obamehinti host Holocaust survivor Mrs. Rosian Zerner- who was born in Lithuania. In 1941, when Germany invaded their town, she and her family were confined to the Kovno concentration camp. Through the help of her parents, she was able to escape through a hole they dug under the fence of the confinement quarters. She was met by her father's secretary and hidden by several rescuers before being liberated by Soviet troops in 1944. Surviving such atrocities to live a successful life takes the power of forgiveness, grit and love, both for self and others. The Bible provides the guide on the freedom that comes through forgiveness. The medical field attests to the power of forgiveness. In a series written by John Hopkins Medicine, it states that one's health depends on forgiveness. In an article in the Harvard Medical School published in 2021, some methods of forgiveness were explored to help people overcome unforgiveness. However the Bible already provided why unforgiveness can be a self-imposed prison for anyone. Matthew 6:14 states, "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you." Take a listen as Mrs. Zerner shares why she forgave her persecutors, how she was able to do that and how she has blazed a trail for peace and love around the world, speaking out about her lived experience as a Holocaust survivor. This is one episode you do not want to miss. Tell a friend, pull up a chair with your favorite tea or coffee and take a listen. This year Easter is in the month of March. Easter is that special time that Christians around the world celebrate the reality of the cross in their lives. If we sat down with believers from around the world and ask each one, who Jesus Christ is to him or her, we will find a common thread- Jesus saved them by His amazing grace. Jesus redeemed them by His precious blood shed on the cross. Jesus has given them the assurance of eternal life. The list will be an extremely long one about who Jesus is to Christians. In this episode, Drs. Johnson and Feyi Obamehinti share from the wells of their relationship with Christ about who He is to them. As we prepare to celebrate Easter, we offer Jesus Christ to you. He is the gift that never stops giving. He is the fountain that never runs dry. He is the light that never goes out. And when Jesus Christ lights the lives of His people, no human can ever put that light out. This is our Living Hope and we offer Him to you this Easter. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." - 1 Peter 1:3

Something that looks so harmless, yet the Bible sheds light on the deceit of darkness to ensnare people that are unaware of the spiritual implications of opening doors to demonic torments for generations to come. In this episode, Drs. Johnson and Feyi Obamehinti, share the underlining intent of goblins to entice people into the world of darkness. Goblins is a folklore term for evil, wicked and mischievous spirits. Take a listen to the real intent of these demonic spirits and be empowered and equipped to denounce their worship in your life and your family. Only the Creator of the Universe deserves our worship in all things and all areas of life. "Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me." Exodus 20:3-5

God loves prodigals and is calling each one of them by name to Himself. Let's join our hearts together in prayer for every prodigal to know the redeeming love of God!

The axiom that we are what we eat is not only for physical nourishment but also for our spirits and minds. Through the natural realm we gain a better understanding of the spiritual (1 Corinthians 15:46). In like manner, what we train our spirits and minds to eat will determine what they get accustomed to. Similarly, it also takes discipline and practice to experience the rewards that come from it. In this episode Drs. Johnson & Feyi Obamehinti discuss the importance of the quality of the food we feed our bodies, souls and spirits. Unlike the natural that is focused on physical nourishment, what our spirits and minds eat affects both realms and determines the level at which we experience the abundant life in Christ. It becomes important then to take great care and be intentional in what we feed our spirits and minds. We are what we eat!

Growth takes time. An oak tree takes up to twenty years to mature into an oak tree and produce acorns. An oak tree can live up to 1000 years and it starts reaching the end of its life cycle at around 700 years. Growth in life is similar- it takes time to develop strong value systems, character and become the best functioning person one is created to be by God. This means in life's development, humans fail and make mistakes. As Christians, there is great encouragement from God and His Word when one own failures, sins or mistakes through repentance and redemption. God forgives completely through His character and never holds any owned failure, sin or mistake against you. However, humans are not like that. They tend to hold your mistake and look for opportunities to bring it back, over and over again. In this episode, Drs. Johnson & Feyi Obamehinti answer the question of how to respond when people refuse to let things go, which shows more of who they are. Drs.
