In this episode, Frankie Lee joins me. This was enjoyable conversation.
The true essence of being relies on knowing who you are and how you want to turn up for your yourself and your love ones. To start this journey though, you have to be willing to take a close look that the darkest parts of yourself without judgement, and also to go through a little bit of pain along the way.
Looking inwards and discovering who you truly are is key. Unfortunately, most people aim to achieve a feeling of success and completion by pursuing things externally, like trying to prove themselves to other people, buying expensive things, boosting their Instagram likes, etc. By doing this, you actually dull yourself from dealing with what matters the most – YOU.
It’s good to be aware that the overall marketing structure that we’re used to consuming has been designed for you to avoid reflecting on yourself – an excessive time on social media, streaming platforms and similar will keep you half asleep and operating on auto- pilot, always longing for more.
A good exercise to get started on this new path is to first write down who you are, and then how you want to turn up for the world. By doing so, you’ll most likely notice the incongruences within yourself. At this stage, it’s important not judge, but to accept and be aware of these inconsistencies, so that you can get yourself to work on them.
The main reason why you’re here is to figure out who you are, what is your gift, and how you can share that gift with the world in the best way possible. If you’re able to do that, not only you’ll be adding authentic value to other people’s life, but everything at your end will get aligned as well – you’ll get the fulfilment that you’ve always wanted, and you’ll establish a deep connection with both yourself and others.
It is essential that you find your niche in which you can share your game, your 1% skill. If you try to be everything to everybody, you’ll end up being nothing to no one.
Don’t waste your time and energy comparing yourself to other people and what they’re doing – this can draw your attention away from your own personal path, not allowing you to grow and add value to other people’s life.
Bear in mind that when you don’t like someone, that’s usually because that person is reflecting something of your own self that you’re not very fond of. This can be taken as a wonderful opportunity to spot and work on those parts of yourself that you’d like to modify.
Question every belief that you have – Most of your current beliefs have been built when you were just a child, meaning that they are mostly learned patterns that you’ve unconsciously reinforced throughout your adulthood. It’s never late to change them though, but first you’ll have to identify them.
