This is the first in a two-part series on how to change your career and life through the power of self-coaching.
In this episode, I introduce you to the cognitive-approach to coaching that I use in my practice. It's based on the Cognitive Behavior Therapy (called CBT) approach, a method of psychological treatment that helps you uncover hidden patterns of thought and the role they're playing in your life. It helps you identify the thoughts that are the source of your problems and replacing those with new, more helpful thoughts that will lead to better outcomes in your life.
We talk about the five interrelated parts of any problem. And the role that your thoughts have in either contributing to or diminishing the challenges that come your way.
This is really important. It's foundational really when it comes to having the career or life you want. And yet, we aren't taught this. We don't usually learn this unless we find a therapist or coach who teaches this CBT approach.
I'm going to share the foundation of the methodology in this episode. And next week, I'll walk you through how to set up a daily self-coaching practice so you can put it into practice.
This is life changing stuff. And it applies equally well to your career or any aspect of your life.
It's so important, it's one you might want to listen to more than once. And be sure you join me next week to learn how to use it on a daily basis.
