In today's episode, we're talking about boredom.
This is important because learning how to shift out of boredom is a bit part of being able to have the fulfilling career and life we all want.
Most of us think that when we're bored, it's caused by what's going on around us. By things outside us.
But it's not.
Boredom is an emotion we feel because of what we're thinking about what's going on (or not) around us.
Getting clear on that is important. Because we never want to try top solve the boredom by taking some sort of action, like changing jobs or partners or our circumstances.
We want to first change how we're thinking about our job or partner or circumstances (or whatever else is going on that you think is causing your boredom).
We feel bored because of what we're thinking.
And this is something we can change. It's 100% in our power.
We have the ability to identify things about our circumstances that we can connect to or engage in or be interested in, thereby shifting us our of boredom and into either a more neutral or even positive emotion.
And then from there we can take more productive actions that will bring us to a different place in our career or life or relationship or whatever.
We never want to take action when we're feeling a negative emotion. Because that action (or inaction) is probably not going to serve us or take us somewhere we want to go.
In this episode, we'll talk about the five types of boredom, what causes them and what you can do to shift out of that.
