Do you ever find yourself stuck in a negative thought loop?
Where you find yourself ruminating endlessly on the negative things that have either happened in your past or are happening now?
If so, you're not alone.
It's how our human brain works.
Our brains are wired to detect threats.
That's the primitive part of our brain.
It wants to protect us. It wants us to survive.
And so, when something happens that our brain interprets as negative or potentially dangerous, it's going to trigger an instinctive response.
That response might be to run from the danger.
Or it might be to play out potential outcomes endlessly, each scenario maybe more catastrophic than the last.
Or it might be to endlessly ruminate on why it happened in the first place. Why us?
There's nothing about that endlessly running negative thought loop that's going to serve you.
It's not empowering.
It's only going to keep you stuck. Right where you are. Focused on what's wrong with your life.
The truth is that in life, things are going to happen that we don't like.
And when that happens, the answer is not to let our default way of thinking take over.
The answer is to decide, proactively, how you want to deal with it.
In a way that is the most optimistic, the most powerful, the most productive.
And no matter what is happening for you right now, I can promise you that this is possible.
You can get yourself out of a negative thought spiral and into a place of mental and emotional neutrality so you can move forward.
So that you're creating the future you want from the broadest perspective of what's possible for you.
You can't do that when you're spinning in negativity.
You have to do an emotional reset.
And that's what we're talking on this episode.
It's an incredibly important and powerful practice.
Give it a listen.
Then share it with a friend.
